I'm afraid the audio is an 'on page' function and will cease playing if you change pages. As to the size of the audio buttons, it is possible to make an image up to replace the standard audio button, but be advised that this just starts the audio, it cannot be used to pause it like the standard button can.
The standard button is sized so that it is easy to hit with a finger - if you make it too small triggering the audio will become problematic.

Hi,
Left click on an empty area of the Desktop to ensure it's the active window, then hold down the Ctrl key and use the scroll area of the Touchpad to adjust the size.

Parallels partition too big, can I make it smaller?

I only have about 3 gb left on my 120gb drive, and it seems that Parallels has taken about 30 gb of my 120.
Can I make that partition smaller, easily? I really don't want to reformat or reinstall.

Ok, but 7.72 GB free on a drive with ~112 GB capacity (which is the real capacity of a 120 GB drive) means you have less than 7% free space. Running that close to the edge will cause problems with your system. In other words, you sholud be looking to delete (or archive to external storage) some files, either inside your Parallels VM or elsewhere on your Mac (movies, iMovie projects, maybe you have lots of music, etc.).
You can use freeware such as Disk Inventory X to see what's taking the most space on your HDD.

Why are my email pages the size of the computerscreen how can I make them smaller ??

It used to be that when I open to write an email, it is a small doco with borders, into which I could copy a table from Word and paste it in to the email without loss of integrity.
Today when I open to write, the email is the total size of the computer screen and when I introduce a table, the table loses it's integrity. That is to say, it is spread right across the huge page and not in a nice compact form as original.
May I add I've been trying everything but stand on my head to solve this problem but without success. I haven't stood on my head because the blasted computer would not be interested and I can't type while standing on my head !

Why don't you use Thunderbird's own table and formatting tools? Pasting from Word and other Office programs often gives unpredictable results, since there is a an awful lot of proprietary non-portable Microsoft-sepecific coding copied in with it. Take a look at the source of any message that's been processed by Outlook or its brethren (use ctrl+u) and you'll see pages of redundant and largely irrelevant code for various obsure font and formatting options.

The new photos app doesn't show all of the thumbnails for my Photostream photos, how can I make them show?

I recently updated my mid-2010 Macbook Pro 15 inch to 10.10.3 Yosemite and I am now using the new Photos app. My Photostream shows missing thumbnails for more of the recent photos, I let it sit for an hour and they still don't show. Any tips to make the thumbnails show quickly? I have tried disabling photostream and reactivating it which didn't work. The thumbnails do eventually show only if I view each specific photo, but it would take forever to select each one to make the thumbnail show

Thanks for that tip and I got as far as that as well with Apple Support but for me the subsequent syncing doesn't work.
I have just returned from another visit at the Apple Store where their top level Genius (if such a thing exists) wanted to see it for himself. Rather worryingly, neither he nor Apple head office has an answer for why this isn't working.
To summarise, I connect my iPhone 6 (all up to date) with my MBA/iTunes via USB cable. The sync tab under the iPhone allows me to sync my photos via USB and I get a dropdown menu to chose from iPhoto or Photos Sync. Both libraries in same location but iPhoto works, but Photos says there are 0 pictures and won't sync...
The Apple genius was going to try it himself tonight at home. He has my number and has promised to phone. In the meantime my question remains. For those of you who do not use the Cloud for storing pictures could you please confirm the sync is working for you as described above. Thanks

Pages that are shown in the status bar are docked to the right instead of the left..how can I make them go back to the left again?

A couple weeks ago my computer did an automatic update to a newer version of Firefox (it is now 3.6.8). Since this update, every time I open a window, it is docked to the right side of the status bar, when it used to be on the lleft side of the status bar. Also, several windows opened do not all show-instead only one window is shown and it will say how ever many windows I have opened (such as "3 firefox windows" instead of just showing those 3 different windows when it was docked to the left side). I have looked through the help section but cannot find an answer to this. I have looked through the "tools", then "options" section and compared my computer to another computer running the same firefox that has the windows opened docked to the left, and they both have the same exact settings, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with my "options" in firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes I checked it. As far as I can see I did everything Apple said to do. I took some screen shot so you can see how the screens are connected and what and where the code is, and what it does when I drag the cancel and done bar buttons to the exit

She can choose to either enable the setting on her iPod to Manually manage music and videos. With setting enabled she can sync content to her iPod from multiple computers without it affecting whats already stored her iPod. However, I would recommend copying whats on her iPod to her iTunes library first. There are several ways to accomplish this. See this older post from another forum member Zevoneer discussing the different ways to do it.

I can't make or answer calls, I can't even power if off. I can't access the hardward ID which Apple support seems to require for Chat.
It might have happened when I was accessing my camera bypassing the lock screen!
All I know is that the thing is now useless and it looks like I will have to wait for the battery to run down to see if powering it back up afterwards will solve the problem.

I have since discovered the "hold down home key and power button" together for a few seconds and this seems to have worked .... phew!

I'd like to get all these '-1 suffix' files together with their associated Develop adjustments into one folder (if they aren't already) so I can see them in Grid view in the Library module, which I use as my basic starting point for everything else at this early stage of my Lightroom 'career'.
To see what folder these are stored in, right-click on a photo and select "Go to Folder in Library".
Advice: if you are going to use Lightroom effectively, you probably want to stop using folders as your method to create a grouping of photos that are already in Lightroom; there are plenty of built-in tools, such as keywords, collections, color labels, etc.
I don't understand why the search on the entire catalog picked up apparently the same two file versions but also got the Develop adjustments when going to the relevant Folder didn't show the adjustment black squares against each image in Grid view nor were they there when the images were opened in the Develop module. Perhaps if I understood this, I'd be a bit more confident of moving forward myself.
These are most likely different versions of the same photo, in different folders. Lightroom stores the edits in its own catalog, and so it knows that one folder's photos have edits, and the other folder's photos do not have edits. Please understand that Lightroom is a database, it knows where the photos are at the time you import them (or add them to the catalog by synchronize), and then if you move things around in your operating system, Lightroom does not know anything about that and problems begin. Thus the advice to organize using Lightroom tools and methods and not operating system tools and methods.

Both the AVI and the MOV file extensions refer to the file container and not the compressed data the file contains. Both are generic file containers in that each may contain any valid combination of audio and/or video data that is compatible with the codec component configuration of the system on which the file was created. On the other hand, whether a file is playback compatible, conversion compatible, and/or edit compatible depends on the data actually contained in the file container. So, you are basically dealing with two separate issues here—the container and what is inside it.
Basically, if you want to make your files ediit compatible with iMovie, you must change your file container to one that is acceptable to iMovie and convert the data to edit compatible audio and/or video compression formats as may be necessary. The best approach is to determine what codecs were actually used to create the original AVI files and add them to your system if possible. In most cases a codec package like Perian can be added to your system's codec component configuration to may the AVI file playable. Once they are playable, in the QT 7 app then they can be chnged or converted to file types and compression formats that can be edited in iMovie. (While Perian handles most codecs commonly used to create AVI files, it does not handle all possibilities and, while the Perian codec package still works under cureent Mac OS versions, its development group has decided to drop further development/support of the package.)
Background: AVI is a file container originally developed by Microsoft back in 1992 but for which official support was discontinued about 11 years. Despite its limitations, Windows users still tend to use this file based on its open source ease of use and generic nature, thus, making its use so popular that most users are unwilling to switch to more modern but less generic file types. Since some AVI legacy compression formats have never been transcoded for the Mac or use beyond OS 9 or OS X PPC platforms, it is often important to know what specific compression formats are contained in the AVI file to know which codecs to add to your system and which not to add in order to avoid possible codec conflicts.
You can use many different converters to convert AVI files to iMovie edit compatible files. Most third-party apps contain their own buit-in codecs which do not relay on the Mac codec component configuration. Free ones, like HandBrake, usually have limited conversion capabilities while those that have more varied outputs are usually commercial in nature and will cost you additional cash. QT 7 Pro or the free MPEG Streamclip app allow you to access you own system's component configuration and use any available codec component like DV, AIC, MPEG-4, H.264, Photo JPEG, etc.—all of which are iMovie compatible for editing purposes—but only after making the AVI file QT 7 player compatible.
In order to determine what compression formats wewre used in your AVI files you can
1) Try checking the Finder "Info" window,
2) Use the "Inspector", "Media Info", or "Properties" window of any player app that will open the file, or
3) Use a general media utility app like "MediaInfo" to read the file characteristics.
