"We couldn't get data from the Data Model.  Here's the error message we got:
The cartridge directory could not be found.  Use the Windows Installer to repair the application.  Exception of type 'Microsoft.Office.PowerPivot.BackEnd.StorageException' was thrown."
Using Office 2013 Standard Edition.
Ran the Windows Installer repair on Office.
I get this error when I attempt to execute Globals.addin.ActiveWorkbook.RefreshAll via an application-level add-in.
I Bing'd the error and came up with nothing (thanks, Bing).
Has anyone seen this error and/or can make any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi,
>>We couldn't get data from the Data Model
Have you tried to use the hotfix to resolve this issue? You can download it and fix your application.
https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2837666
And  Excel will crash if you have recently applied updates for the PowerPivot add-in, but have not also updated Excel.
To resolve this issue, you should apply this update together with the update from KB
2850006
https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2850006

    Hi,
Installed a new update iTunes Saturday - My file directory could not be found, so I reset the directory path, and 'it' asked me if I would like 'it' to re organise my filing, foolishly (as a beginner, without checking)  I selected yes - Many tunes have been duplicated, some have disappeared? Trawled through lots of misleading help files, mailed friends, tried many back routes into Apple web sites and they all wasted my time. Can anyone help?
I have discovered since then, that this resorce has been down over the weekend, which probably explains why I have had so many contradictory responses, so apologies if you all know what the prolem is.
My question is, my TIME MACHINE (which has not been used yet) was tried but looked nothing like that of the U Tube demo, so I am assuming that it needs setting up, however, it has been saving, I just do not know how to recover the data. Can anyone help?
    Regads,
    Cyfrommayo

(If you have a Time Machine backup, go to your User folder/Music/iTunes and select iTunes. Enter Time Machine and go to a backup of iTunes before the above happened. Then select 'Restore' on the bottom right.)
    Eric,
    Many thanks for your help.
Apologies for not being as skilled as you. I am unable to see what you are saying, can I ask, should I be in TIME MACHINE when I go to User folder/Music?iTunes or iTunes or Finder?

  • AE CS6 won't export MP4. "Some of the required components could not be found."

After Effects CS6 (from Production Premium) running on 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.
    Processor: Intel Core i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series video card
    64 Gb Corsair Ram (DDR3)
    Quicktime 7.7.4 Installed
Currently attempting to export a short (2 second) video based on the predefined "H.264" preset with the only alterations being that I want the VBR 1 Pass to target 3.5Mbs (though I've changed this with no difference in outcome) and I want the video to multiplex as MP4. I immediatley get the error prompt: "Some of the required components could not be found."
*Just tried using the 3GPP multiplexer and received the same error message. If I try to use the MPEG4 format I get an "unknown exception" error.*
I've exported literally hundreds of items as H.264 with a MP4 multiplexer on this machine with current hardware and software. And now...no dice. After Effects boots correctly (or at least it seems that way) though I think it takes a little longer than it used to (not sure if the system cache just needs to be rebuilt).
After Effects CS6 has all available Adobe updates. Quicktime 7.7.4 is also up-to-date. Video Card driver is up-to-date.
What could be going on? I'd prefer to skip re-installing this program. I've had to do this numerous times already with this suite throughout the past 12 months; really getting sick of the down-time during reinstall. Worth noting that I have closed the program, closed all programs, restarted computer multiple times.
I am currently going through my Adobe program files for After Effects. I am specifically looking through the 'Support Files' directory. A couple interesting things: 1. My 'MediaIO->Codecs' directory was last updated on 11/8/2013 (perhaps an AE update??) but each of the files within said directory have a last modified date of late September. Did something get wrongfully deleted in the hypothetical update? 2. In 'Media Core plugins->Common' I again have a last modified date of 11/8/2013, but again each of my files within the common directory were last modified late September. I have many expected .prm files but NO ImporterMPEG4.prm; should I have a MPEG4 specific importer file, or does the MPEG importer file do all of the work. Also, I have no ExporterMP4 (or anything of the MPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4 flavor). Should I have one of these?
Don't know if this last paragraph helps at all but my fingers are crossed.

Thanks Katrina for all your help.
I talked to an Apple tech support person. Actually, my call had to be elevated to the next support level. Joy. You are correct, there are multiple listings of the files in the error report even though there is only one copy.
The support person had me do a few things. Here is what eventually seems to fix things:
    1) For the mp3's that DID copy but were listed as not found... Some files were duplicated so deleting the duplicate with the "!" was an easy fix. I found one file that I could search by song name in iTunes but could not find it by song name search on the iPod. Looking at the iPod playlist I found the file listed by the filename (not song name) and the file played fine. Then in iTunes I double clicked on the song name ("!" showing) and selected locate. I then pointed to the location on the NAS. Resync and now the name of the song on the iPod changed from filename to song name. The file was no longer listed in the error report.
    2) For the m4a files that didn't sync... the problem songs appeared three times in a search in iTunes. Two of the listings showed the "!" next to the name. I deleted these two for each song that didn't sync and all transferred fine afterward.
Perhaps there is an issue with ID3 tags since I use filenames more than tags in organization. Still, I would think that iTunes would not get so confused or be a little more friendly with its errors, especially considering how long its been around.
Thanks again for your help. Looks like I have a manual way to correct this issue.

  • IPod could not be restored because the firmware file could not be found

Initial problem was no audio and skipping through songs at a rate of about 1 song per second.
Tried the 5 R's and that didn't help.
Installed iTunes 7 and then it wouldn't recognize the nano. Followed Apple's instructions when iPod not recognized, including uninstalling iTunes, uninstalling latent update installers, deleting the iTunes directory, clearing the recycle bin, deleting temp files, etc. Then reinstalled iTunes 7,
Plugged in my nano and Got the message, newer version of iPod software available, update software (version installed was 1.1.1 and newer version available was 1.2)? Clicked ok and that was the start of my troubles. That process failed and suggested that I restore to factory defaults (not exactly what I wanted to do, having to reload my songs, but went along).
Did a restore to factory settings and now get the message
The iPod could not be restored because the firmware file could not be found.
Anyone got any ideas how to update the firmware? I'm hopeful that a file can be downloaded to do this rather than sending in the nano to have it updated.
    <opinion on>
After an hour of updating software and a couple of hours of reading the forums looking for the answer, my eyes hurt, it's 2:30am, and I'm frustrated to the point of throwing this in the trash.
My kids have a shuffle and a mini and I've updated software on both with no problems before. If I realized I would have to become a system admin for iPods, I would never have invested.

  • Error :the specified module could not be found --oci.dll  : Oracle9i

    hi ,
i m trying to connect thru my java code to the oracle on my system ,while creating the DSN it gives the error
"the specified module could not be found" for the file oci.dll.
earlier it was not able to look for the sqresus.dll which i copied to the winnt/system directory , and after this oci error is coming , anyone knowing it please guide
    with regards,

Make sure it is the same version of 9i (i.e. 9.0.x or 9.2.x) for both OO4O and ODBC. Also make sure that the ORACE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\BIN directory is in your search path AND last, check your windows directories and subdirectories for duplicate copies of OCI.DLL (or anywhere else on the PC for that matter). Sometimes MicroSoft will include one and it is usually an OLD one.

  • The backup volume could not be found

Spent a fair amount of time on the phone with Apple last night trying to get my Macbook Air to work with Time Machine/Time Capsule.
Symptoms of my problem included Time Machine Preferences giving the error "The backup volume could not be found"
Console messages complaining about not being able to find the MAC address for machine:
(console is accessed by clicking Go -> Utilities -> Console from the Finder, and then selecting All Messages)
11/7/08 11:06:13 AM System Preferences[123] *Time Machine failed to get MAC address for machine.*

11/7/08 11:13:09 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[1603] *Volume at path /Volumes/Time Capsule-1 does not appear to be the correct backup volume for this computer. (Cookies do not match)*

    11/7/08 11:13:14 AM /System/Library/CoreServices/backupd[1603] *Backup failed with error: 18*
And my only network interface was showing up as en1 (instead of en0). You can check this by using Network Utilities:
    - On the Finder main menu bar click Go -> Utilities -> Network Utilities
If "Network Interface (en0)" is not an option in the drop down list under "Please select a network interface for information" (mine was showing as en1), then the following steps will probably solve your problem:
    1) Enable the root user
    - Open the finder
    - On the Finder main menu bar click Go -> Utilities -> Directory Utility
    - On the menu bar click Edit -> Enable Root User
    - set a password (they suggested using the same password as is used for the main user account)
    2) Login as the newly enabled root user
    - Click Log Out... from the Apple menu on the main menu bar
    - select "Other" at the login screen
    - enter the user name "root" and the password you set in step 1
    3) Drag Preferences folder to the desktop
    - open the finder, and click on Macintosh HD and then Library
    - drag the Preferences folder onto the desktop
    4) Restart the computer
    - Click Restart from the Apple menu on the main menu bar
After this, the Network utility should show "Network Interface (en0)", and Time Machine should work.

    Jackson,
See this article for the reasons why you see "Time Capsule-1 does not appear to be the right volume..."
As for the error message you are getting, here are several reasons why you would see this message...
*_"Backup Volume Could Not Be Found"_*
First, it is important to distinguish this error message from another, similar Time Machine error that states, “The backup volume could not be mounted”. This is important as the causes and cures for these two errors can be very different.
    *Reselect Your Time Machine Disk*
    (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1329)
In the Finder, go up to the "Go" menu and select "Connect to Server".
Click the "Browse" button at the dialogue box.
In the Network window that opens, do you see your TM drive?
Double click it to mount the drive.
Now let's try to reselect it for Time Machine use.
Go to System Preferences --> Time Machine.
    Click the "Change Disk..." button.
Select "None" and click "Stop Backing Up".
Now click "Choose Backup Disk" and reselect your drive again.
Close System Preferences and try backing-up again.
On the other hand, does your Time Machine drive NOT appear at all? Is it appearing on your desktop? If it is still connected try disconnecting the cable, waiting a few seconds and then reconnecting the cable. Does the drive mount on the desktop? Try initiating a backup now.
*Disk Fails to Wake From Sleep*
“If your external HD has a sleep function that does not wake for Time Machine backups.  Time Machine will alert you that "The backup volume could not be found", and backups will not be made.” [http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1337]
    *3rd-Party Disk Utilities* #
Many external hard disks come with software for maintaining/monitoring hard disk activities. It may have come on a separate CD or been installed on the drive itself. If these programs have been installed they may interfere with Time Machine backups, generate erratic behavior, or cause the drive to ‘disappear’ altogether.
You may never know these applications are there as they may be running in the background. Go to System preferences --> Accounts. Select your account in the pane on the left. Click “Login Items”. Are there any items listed there that might refer to hard disk utilities. If so remove them using the “-” button at the bottom.
    *Delete Time Machine Preference .plist*
It may be that the preference list that stores the name of your designated backup disk has become corrupted.
Go to --> Macintosh HD / Library / Preferences (Note: NOT Home / Library / Preferences).
    Drag the .plist file labeled,
    com.apple.TimeMachine.plist
to the root level of your Macs’ hard drive.
    Reboot your computer.
This .plist file is automatically recreated at startup if it is missing.
Now try choosing the external HD in the TM Prefs for backup.
*Time Capsule Has a Long Name*
“When using your Time Capsule for Time Machine backups in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or later, the Time Capsule backup volume may not mount and Time Machine may not be able to back up to it. This alert may appear: "Backup volume cannot be found". This can happen if the Time Capsule disk has a long name. [http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1170]
    Open AirPort Utility (in /Applications/Utilities).
    Click your Time Capsule's icon.
    Click "Manual Setup".
Enter the password for the Time Capsule if prompted.
    Click the Disks icon.
Highlight the volume name that appears under "Time Capsule Disk".
In the Name field, enter a name for the volume that is less than 27 characters long.
    Click Update.
After Time Capsule restarts, on the Mac(s)using Time Machine, open Time Machine preferences and reselect the Time Capsule volume.”
Let us know if any of these suggestions help.
    Cheers!

  • The following files could not be found??

    All,
Over Christmas I backed up my entire system to an external HD and then performed an erase and install of Tiger just to clean everything out. The transition has gone well until tonight . . . I went to open an older iDVD project I was working on and a box immediately came up that said "The following files could not be found . . ." It listed about 500 files including pics, audio, etc.
It seems that when I reinstalled Tiger, my home directory and shortname is a little different this time than with the old OS. In essence, the only thing that needs to be changes is the username on all the files, but iDVD seems to be having trouble understanding this and finding the files. Does this make sense to anyone?
For example, the path listed is Users/joebiedlingmaier/movies . . . etc.
The new path on my current system is Users/jbiedlin/movies . . . etc.
iDVD seems to have trouble recognizing that the file is in the name place, just with a different home directory name. Any ideas of how to get everything back in order? Even when it performs the search when I point iDVD to certain folders, it doesn't seem to recognize what it's looking for.
    -JB

It won't help you now, but in the future do a File>Archive Project in iDVD to save all your assets in an archive. Since it includes copies of the actual files, instead of just links to those files, an archive file can be quite large.

You have oracle 10g and python 2.6. Are you sure you installed the cx_Oracle version that is compatible with those particular Python and Oracle's versions? (It comes in several flavours so you need to be sure you installed the right one).

  • ODBC error: The specified module could not be found. ?

    Hi,
I have Oracle9i database installed on a test server. If I set the ODBC on the server (the TNS service name is ABCD), I can test it and run a VB application without any error. Then, I need to run the VB application on a client (Windows XP), that does not have any Oracle database installed. Following somebody's suggestion, I installed oo4o for Oracle9i which has the Universal Installer. Then, I installed the Oracle ODBC driver for Oracle9i. It looks okay because when I click Add under System DSN, it lists "Oracle in OraHome90" which is the same as I see on my oracle9i database server. However, the TNS service name is empty (on the database server, it lists ABCD). If I enter ABCD (or ABCD.xyz.com, the full global database host name)in it and run the test connection, I got: "The specified module could not be found" in OCI.DLL window. The listener.ora on the database server does show SID_LIST_LISTNER = ... (SID_NAME = ABCD).
Can somebody explain why? I definetly don't want to install the database client software on this client machine, I just want to run a VB or JAVA application on it to connect to the database server using ODBC, or something else if possible.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Harvey

Make sure it is the same version of 9i (i.e. 9.0.x or 9.2.x) for both OO4O and ODBC. Also make sure that the ORACE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\BIN directory is in your search path AND last, check your windows directories and subdirectories for duplicate copies of OCI.DLL (or anywhere else on the PC for that matter). Sometimes MicroSoft will include one and it is usually an OLD one.

  • Oraoledbpus.dll: The specified module could not be found

We are trying to access an Oracle 9.1 database through a Crystal report that uses the Oracle ODBC driver v9.02. The report is generated through an ASP page running on IIS 6 and a Windows 2003 server.
We get a popup on the server console intermittently with the following error:
Oraoledbpus.dll: The specified module could not be found
We have checked the security settings on the Oracle Home directory and assigned appropriate access to all the following:
    Administrators
    SYSTEM
    Authenticated Users
    IUSR
    ASPNET
We have also checked that the Oracle Home bin directory is in the PATH. This dll does exist in the bin directory. When the report is run in the Crystal Reports designer there is no problem. The strange things is that the Data Source used by the report is ODBC and not Ole DB.
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Hello buddy!
Make sure there is no dll dependence missing. You can try using Dependency walk tool.

  • DB XML Java 'The specified procedure could not be found'

Hi guys, I'm new to DBXML, and I ran into this trouble both when trying out the examples and with a NetBeans project of my own.
I am using windows and I installed using "Berkeley DB XML 2.4.16.msi Windows installer (26M)" to the default path 'C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB XML 2.4.16'. The the error is as follows:

    (user properties)

    PATH = C:\Program Files\Delta3D_REL-2.3.0\build_VS2008\bin;C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB XML 2.4.16\bin
For good measure I also tried moving these into the 'system variables' section of the environment variables, and also tried adding -Djava.library.path="C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB XML 2.4.16\bin"
FYI, removing the dbxml path variable changes the error message to Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no libdb_java46 in java.library.path
Any thoughts? I'm looking at using DBXML for my honours thesis, so it's pretty important to me to get this working, any help would be greatly appreciated.

PATH = C:\Program Files\Delta3D_REL-2.3.0\build_VS2008\bin;C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB XML 2.4.16\binThis reduces the PATH to just those two directories. Not very good. What about C:\WINDOWS\system32 and others? Instead, use:
    set Path=%Path%;C:\My\Extra\Path
For good measure I also tried moving these into the 'system variables' section of the environment variables, and also tried adding -Djava.library.path="C:\Program Files\Oracle\Berkeley DB XML 2.4.16\bin"

Set the PATH globally (for all users), and restart the machine. Then it'll also work for the Local System Account in case you're using that.

  • HPHP Officejet Pro x64 The specified module could not be found

Installed the full version and then tried the basic version for windows xp.  When asked to plug in the printer the only item I can see installed is fax- HP Officejet Pro 8610.  I get a message that there was a problem with the connection and it reads.
    HPHP Officejet Pro 8610
The specified module could not be found.
Looking for advice.  I tried several printer USB cords and different USB locations on the computer.

    Hi @Pasi
Running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Source:Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor> >>>>> www.hp.com/go/tools
If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • There are about 8 songs in a playlist on itunes that are listed in the playlist but cannot be transferred to my ipod because it states: "..the original file could not be found." When I try to locate the song I get a list of the different music librar

There are about 8 songs on a playlist that are listed in the playlist library but when I try to transfer them to the playlist, it states that they can't be transferred because the original file could not be found. Then it asks, do you want to locate the file but when I try that I get a few libraries but am not sure how to locate the particular songs. Some of the songs were purchased and some were transferred from a CD. I have seen the same question asked on the help page but haven't found an answer.
    Thanks.

    Hi dones49,
It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -
Locate and organize your iTunes files
If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

  • On some of my files there is a ! in front of it, if I try to play the song, I get an error message; "The song "_____" could not be used, because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" Then when I click "Locate", I get nothing.

I'm really dumbfounded on this one and it's driving me bonkers!!!! On some of my music files there is a ! in front of it, if I try to play the song, I get an error message; "The song "_____" could not be used, because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
This began to happen when Chuck made playlists2burn on2CD-and then he would delete the playlist; sending all the song files into oblivion. Certain songs have a ! right next to the file name, and as I stated before, i get that error message:
"The song "_____" could not be used, because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
So I click on "Locate". No help. I get a menu with folders that say "catroot" and other folders which names I cannot remember, but I scroll PAST the file folders, & it's just a bunch of ".DLL" files.....I don't understand what any of the names of the folders mean...it's frustr8ing-coz this is my 2nd iTouch, my 1st one got stolen & I can't afford2buy my music back at this time & i NEVER before had a single problem with losing song file locations.
Is there anyone out there who has been through this frustrating game of chasing your tail?....<that's how I feel>
If so I would be ever so gr8ful if maybe someone with the knowledge would be so kind as 2 tell me how/where 2 retrieve these songs & how to put everything back where it belongs, I would be 4ever gr8ful !!!
I can't afford 2 replace the songs just like I'm unable 2 buy back my old music from my stolen iTouch....man that was an awesome collection-someday I'll be able 2 afford 2 do that & I would like 2 have all the new music that I paid 4 but cannot find when I got my new iTouch....that would just be  wonderful.
I hope someone sees this post that can help me retrieve these files....losing $100.00 of iTunes is a REAL BUMMER!!!!!!

hope 2 get a reply someday....I'll B checking all my emails & my Facebook, as well
as marking this page in my FAVORITES so I can find it fast! Take Care!!!

    I was not complete clear.
Since you never changed the settings in the advanced section of iTunes preferecnes, you have to chech that your music is really in the location setted in the folders reported in the advanced section.  If not you have 2 ways: reset the position of this folders or in the actual disk organisation or in the pointing on the preferences.
If you press the reset button you just give to itunes its default setting as for the position of the music files: probably this will be a good choice if you have never changed any default preference.
But before I would check the folders and see if the songs are really there
In my iTune I have this, and I believe it is the default.

  • I can no longer play my music from iTunes on my computer.  i get the error prompt: The song (name) could not be used because the original file could not be found.  What do I do?

not sure what to add other than to repeat myself.  ive lost ability to play music from my iTunes library on my computer.  Everything is there but i get an error message that says '"The song (name) could not be found.  Would you like to locate it?   Then it gives me the option to locate or cancel.  i can't do that for 3800 songs!!  i have all my music in separate folders by album and all individual selections in an external hard drive.  i can play from there but thats clicking on one number at a time.  i lost my capability in the process of Microsoft correcting a problem with my outlook program.  Why, i haven't a clue.   help!!

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
