The Case of the Indecisive Background Color

After browsing the vast space of discussion topics in hopes of some clue that may lead me to salvation, the course of action has come to posting my problem to the collective community. I know very little about macs, but am learning slowly, unfortunately, through these little problems which I find myself often mystified.
When I select a background color to be set to an individual window it does not obey my command. The insubordination comes when I click off to another window and then back again(note I have my window settings to open all in the same window). When I do click back the window is some obscure, and often ridiculous, color which leaves reading hard on the eyes. When I leave the window on plain white there is no problem aside from a lackluster appearance. On occasion, when I mess around with it, selecting a color will actually offset other colors form other windows.
This problem has been ongoing for about six months, though not a huge annoyance, I would like to solve this riddle of pigments. If something is unclear about this situation I'll answer any questions, but as I said I've only a year under my belt with this computer and am low on the totem of knowledge. I appreciate anything information that would alleviate this predicament. Thank You.

unfortunately that did not work. however, i have noticed something new. when i click on the sidebar icons down the line, e.i. application, music, movies, picture... the colors will cycle through different patters. In the beginning I had all of my window colors red, so some of the time they resemble a shade of red. If i click on those windows they will be red and then reclick back to applications they will start with a green and so on. it seems like there is some confusion going on with the computer.

The current background color in fullscreen mode is grey and it's distracting.  It used to be black.  Is there a way to change the color outside of the document boundaries?

Jailbreaking is actually not illegal due to exemptions in the DMCA documentation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IOS_jailbreaking#cite_note-22).
I've got no explanation on to why the trusty interface for the old iPod style app was butchered, unfortunately (I think we're all at a loss, besides someone being given too much free reign). I came here to supplement the original question with, another alternative question:
Is there a way, similar to downgrading 3rd party apps, downgrade the Music app or restore the old iPod app as an additonal app? Without jailbreaking?

• How do I change the tab background color in Firefox 4?

I just upgraded to Firefox 4. Tabs are now fine black font on dark grey background -- very hard to read. How do I change the tab background color?
I have searched and the closest I can come is some instructions for modifying .css files, and it is not clear that those instructions will impact the tab background color.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Similar question asked by TH received another response.
Here is the address of that question and answer:
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/804464?s=change+tab+color+firefox+4&as=s
I like the solution recommended there.
Added information - after several days experience, I notice that some tabs occasionally revert to the original dark grey. So I am still looking for a better solution, ideally within Firefox rather than via add on. This seems like a basic setting for the browser that should be easy to change, rather than something so complex that I need an add on to change it. Or just build it without such a dark grey background to begin with and I would not need to change it.

I was moments from asking for help, but thought to try just a bit harder. The answer lies under Preferences, Menu, Video Background Color. Just thought I'd share for future search strings by others.

The id is applied by (I think) the skin class of the ChoiceBox. You don't need to define it.
You have to apply the css in an external style sheet. You can apply the external style sheet to any parent of your choice box, or to the scene (the most usual way to do it).
Example:

• Flex 4 lacks the default-background-color compiler option?

Hello,
started converting my Flex 3 applications to Flex 4 and noticed that Flex 4 lacks the default-background-color compiler option.
Flex 3 has it: http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=compilers_14.html
Flex 4 doesn't: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/using/WS2db454920e96a9e51e63e3d11c0bf69084-7a92.html
This raises a question: how am I supposed to keep my background from flashing from grey to white when the RIA is loaded? Is it possible to use preloader with background set to whatever color I like to see? Any easier solutions?
Best regards,
Jukka

This works for me:
@namespace mx "library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx";
mx|Application{
         background-color:#ffffff;
Of course if you have changed the Application element to spark equivalent, you have to change the namespace.

• Can i change the preview background color?

Hi
can i change the preview background color?
it's gray , may i change it?
thanks
i use bridge cs6

can i change the preview background color?
Yes you can do so in the Bridge preferences under general both Ui interface and image backdrop can be changed
In the same preferences Cache you can change the location of the central cache to where ever you will. But you have to realize that if you use an external disk this can cause all kinds of problems regarding speed, performance and permission issues. best to keep it on an internal disk and having an SSD available will be even better because you will benefit from performance and speed very much.
it's gray , may i change it?
As long as you have a legal version and it is able to change then feel free to set it to your own custom wishes...

• What is the purpose of the foreground/background color?

I want to know what is the purpose of the foreground/background color in photoshop, am knew to PS, so am just trying to figure what are the purposes of some of these stuff.
Regards,
Jamaine Semple

Please read the Help files.  Start with "Creating, Opening and Importing images".
• Select a canvas color option.
White Fills the background or first layer with white, the default background color.
Background Color Fills the background or first layer with the current background color.
Transparent Makes the first layer transparent, with no color values. The resulting document has a single, transparent layer as its contents.
The Foreground Color is chosen for the brush, shapes, etc.
Eventually, you want to read the entire content of the Help files, and maybe, hopefully, a book like " Photoshop Classroom in a Book".
Photoshop is a professional level application that makes no apologies for its long and steep learning curve.
Take a class at a community college.  Teaching you Photoshop from the ground up far exceeds the scope of the forum.

• Is there a way to change the WHITE background color of the photo gallery/COLLECTIONS to BLACK.  IPad 4 ios 7

As a Professional Photographer, I chose to buy an IPad 4 for only one reason and that was the amazing color and clarity of the Photo Gallery as a mobile Portfolio.
Originally the background color of the IPad 4 Gallery was BLACK and this facilitated the photos greatly, photos look better and stand out better on a BLACK background. White backgrounds cause a glare eminating from the edges of the photo and cause iris in our eyes to close down, degrading the quality of the photo being viewed.
I updated to ios 7 and now my IPad 4 has a WHITE background, which is unacceptable for viewing photos.
HOW DO I CHANGE the WHITE background on the Photo/Gallery/COLLECTIONS to BLACK?
Apple should ALWAYS give USERS/OWNERS of their products control of such details. IT'S JUST GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Vancouver22  Thanks for your help... the SLIDESHOW turned black for me automatically when the slideshow began. That works most excellent!
Now if I can just get the White Background to STAY BLACK, this might not be as painful as I feared.
My IP4 does lag slightly, but not enough to set fire to it yet.
The gallery/COLLECTIONS/ALBUMS are the most important thing to me.

• How to change the   background color in a webdynpro?

Does somebody know how I can simpley change the background color in a webdynpro?

You need to use external CSS..via the sap-ep-themeroot or sap-cssurl.
For downloading and changing CSS. pls refer to
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7015b1f9-535c-2910-c8b7-e681fe75aaf8
Note: as stated in the documentation for a external CSS, that is just placing it in /SAP/PUBLIC Folder, <b>did not work</b> for me....
Do following it works..
Create a BSP application, ZCUSTOMTHEME. GO to MIME Repository and create a folder zmytheme under ZCUSTOMTHEME
open SE38 and execute BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS and upload ur custom theme under this folder.. /sap/bc/bsp/sap/ZCUSTOMTHEME/zmytheme
While calling ur WD application....append following at end of URL
sap-ep-themeroot = /sap/bc/bsp/ZCUSTOMTHEME/zmytheme'
