  • Sharepoint 2007 list error - The '}' character, hexadecimal value 0x7D, cannot be included in a name. Line 1, position 440.

    Hi Everyone,
    We have a sharepoint 2007 deployment which in general has been fine since it was built.
    Version is 12.0.0.6421 (MOSS 2007 SP2 (KB953334 & KB953338))
    on a Windows 2003 R2 SP2 server.
    We created a list a while back to store information for our servers but for some reason it now has an error.
    the symptoms are:
    1) Navigating to the list and choosing any view (a few custom views), we can see the data fine
    2)  Creating new items or modifying existing items brings up:
    An unexpected error has occurred.
    3) Trying to access the list settings brings up:
    An unexpected error has occurred.
    4) Using "view all site content" and clicking on the list brings up:
    The '}' character, hexadecimal value 0x7D, cannot be included in a name. Line 1, position 440.
    I've attempted to search for the error online but the error doesn't bring back anything specific to Sharepoint.
    My gut feeling is either a corruption of the list or a user has entered an invalid character in one of the list entries, but I cannot amend the list in any way.
    Ordinarily I would advise the user to re-create the list and enter the information from scratch, however this list contains alot of information and is crucial to the server teams documentation.
    Does anyone have any ideas on where I should be focusing my search efforts?  I did check the logs and couldn't see any obvious entries for this list.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Carl

    Hi,
    I suggest you take the code below which works in my environment to do the test again:
    ClientContext clientContext = new ClientContext("http://sp/");
    List list = clientContext.Web.Lists.GetByTitle("List2");
    FieldCollection fields = list.Fields;
    clientContext.Load(fields);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();

  • XmlException on ExecuteQuery - Name cannot begin with the ' ' character, hexadecimal value 0x20. Line 78, position 36.

    I'm getting XmlException when trying to call ExecuteQuery of the ClientContext.
    I'm getting this no matter what I'm trying to load and no matter what site I'm trying to connect to.
    This happens when connecting to Office365 site (tried multiple tenants and site collections).
    What's strange I'm getting this on one PC (Windows Server 2008 R2 without SharePoint installed), but not on another VM (Windows Server 2012 with SharePoint 2013 installed).
    This used to work on both in the past.
    Could it be that one of the windows updates broke it?
    Just for reference the test code is very simple and I'm calling it from a console app (same result on .NET 4.0, 4.5 and 4.5.1):
    static void ConnectTest(string username, string password, string url)
    SecureString securePassword = new SecureString();
    foreach (char c in password)
    securePassword.AppendChar(c);
    SharePointOnlineCredentials onlineCredentials = new SharePointOnlineCredentials(username, securePassword);
    using (ClientContext clientContext = new ClientContext(url))
    clientContext.Credentials = onlineCredentials;
    Web site = clientContext.Web;
    clientContext.Load(site);
    clientContext.ExecuteQuery();

    I faced with this exeption becouse of OpenDNS.
    You can try the following:
    1. Use another DNS server. (prefered solution)
    or
    2. Add the following in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts:
    157.56.58.43 msoid.YourSharePointName.onmicrosoft.com
    (157.56.58.43 it's a one of msoid.onmicrosoft.com ips you can resolve it yourself)
    for example if you SharePoint online url is org1.sharepoint.com you should add in hosts:
    157.56.58.43 msoid.org1.onmicrosoft.com

  • Assign hexadecimal value to an Integer variable preceding with zero

    hi
    i need to pass an hexadecimal value, preceding with zero (0).
    like 0775
    the above hexadecimal value should be assigned to an integer variable. While i am trying to assign it, the output could be truncate the preceding zero value. Is it possible to do my requirement without truncating the preceding zero.?
    Edited by: sasi on Jul 23, 2012 7:09 PM

    I agree on that, this can not be carried out the way you explained.
    Either you store the hexadecimal value as a string, and convert it before arithmetic operations:
    int number = Integer.parseInt("0775", 16);
    Or you store it as an integer (no leading zero) and convert it to string as you display it:
    int number = 0x0775;
    System.out.printf("%1$04x", number);

  • Converting hexadecimal value to double   Hlep needed!!!

    Is there a way that I can convert the following hexadecimal value into double:
    String s = "16#1234#";
    As converting this to long I am doing this
    if (s.startsWith("16#") && s.endsWith("#"))
    extractedValue = s.substring( 3, s.length()-1 );
    longValue = Long.parseLong( extractedValue, 16 );
    Is there any way I can do the same and change the above to double. If I use
    doubleValue = Double.parseDouble(s);
    gives me an error so I want to parse the above value and change it to double any tips of work arround.
    Thnaks

    double doubleValue;
    doubleValue = Integer.valueOf(s.substring( 3, s.length()-1 ), 16).intValue();
    this works because int is big enough to handle 4 hex digits (can handle 7 hex digits safely)
    then the conversion "widens" to double

  • Oracle xml_dom.writeToClob ignore the character set

    I'm trying to generate a xml file using oracle. After generating the xml using dbms_xmldom, it is stored in a CLOB and later written to a table.
    The problem is that the character set ('UTF-8') is not included in the header even though it is specified using setCharset() procedure.
    Following is the oracle script,
    declare
    export_file_ CLOB ;
    str_export_file_ xmldom.DOMDocument;
    main_node xmldom.DOMNode;
    root_node xmldom.DOMNode;
    root_elmt xmldom.DOMElement;
    begin
    str_export_file_ := xmldom.newDOMDocument;
    xmldom.setVersion(str_export_file_, '1.0');
    xmldom.setCharset(str_export_file_ , 'UTF-8');
    main_node := xmldom.makeNode(str_export_file_);
    root_elmt := xmldom.createElement(str_export_file_,'TextTranslation');
    xmldom.setAttribute( root_elmt, 'version' ,'1.0');
    xmldom.setAttribute( root_elmt, 'language' ,'ja');
    xmldom.setAttribute( root_elmt, 'module' ,'DEMOAND');
    xmldom.setAttribute( root_elmt, 'type' ,'VC');
    root_node := xmldom.appendChild(main_node, xmldom.makeNode(root_elmt));
    export_file_ :=' ';
    xmldom.writeToClob( str_export_file_,export_file_,'UTF-8');
    dbms_output.put_line ( export_file_ );
    end;
    The output is ,
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <TextTranslation version="1.0" language="ja" module="DEMOAND" type="VC"/>
    If anybody can suggest me what I have done incorrectly that will be great.
    Thanks in advance.

    The character set you specify via setCharset() procedure is ignored unless you use writeToFile() later.

    Is it impossible to do such operation on Biztalk?
    Thank you!

    Try to set the appropriate value to the "Target charset" property in the Flat file assembler component. This would solve your issue.

  • PE9 "The file is damaged or is a format that cannot be included in the Organizer"

    I am trying to rebuild my Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer content after a previous computer was physically damaged beyond repair.
    I reinstalled PE9 and told it to import the image files from my HDD. It imported a large number but also rejected a large number with the message "The file is damaged or is a format that cannot be included in the Organizer".
    These are files which were happily resident and accessible in the previous PE9 installation on the now-dead computer and there is nothing special about them. They are almost all .JPG format (this is not a RAW or CR2 problem) and those that I have accessed by other means (e.g. with Irfanview) are not damaged.
    Can someone tell me why PS9 is not able to import these files ?
    Thank you.

    Hi pacman110,
    I was getting the same error message when importing a folder with only jpg images to PSE 9 Organizer (trial version).
    Since I read a couple of threads where corrupted EXIF data was a possible reason for import failures, I changed the EXIF data - in the Windows Explorer's file properties dialog (Win 7) - to some value, applied it and changed it back again. After that the import worked fine for that file.
    Later I figured out, that all images causing the error were previously tagged in Picasa 3 and later untagged - so these images actually had no tags at import. Tagging the image(s) again (in Picasa) also seemed to solve the issue.
    In my case it unfortunately didn't solve the problem, because I wanted to get rid of the Picasa Tag (IPTC keyword). Therefore I removed it using the file properties dialog.
    Picasa still shows the image as tagged though. Removing the - on the file non-existing - tag in Picasa results in the same issue as above. At this point the only workaround is to remove the tag in Picasa, close Picasa and set and remove some tag with Windows Explorer, which is pretty annoying regarding the amount of files.
    Conclusion: removing a tag with Picasa seems to make jpg images unimportable to PSE 9 Organizer.
    Workaround: Add the tag again or remove with Windows Explorer or remove tag with Picasa, close Picasa and then tag/untag the image(s) with Windows Explorer.
    Maybe this helps.

    There can be two reasons
    1. The insert script used is having multiple instances of the records with Key as 12610 returned from the source query. If this is the issue add a logic to include only the unique set of id values for records by avoiding duplicates. There are several approaches
    for this like using ROW_NUMBER with PARTITION BY, using a join with derived table etc
    2. The record with Key 12610 already exist in your destination table and your script is again trying to insert another instances of record with same key. This can be avoided by adding a NOT EXISTS condition with a subquery which will check and return only
    those records which doesnt already exist in the source
