The colors with RAW

Hello everyone .. I have a problem ؟؟ i am use a canon 6d and i am take my photo with RAW but when i open it by photoshop i saw my pic is really different colors and not good way it bad way whats wrong ? and how i fix it ??

First of all you have the highlight clipping indicator turned on in ACR, so the blown out sky is red.  If that is confusing you then click the little triangle at the top right of the histogram to turn off the clipping indicator.
Otherwise, the Canon raw converter in DPP is using whatever settings you have for saturation and contrast in the camera, whereas the Adobe raw converter (in the ACR plug-in) is using the Adobe default settings and not any custom camera settings which Adobe doesn’t know how to interpret.
To me the Canon/DPP version looks oversaturated whereas the Adobe version looks normal for not having changed anything from the default of zeros.
Is there an explanation for why the Canon/DPP version is so saturated?  Did you set something specifically in your camera to achieve this effect?
Also, you can copy/paste screenshots directly into message on the forum, as well as use the camera icon to include them directly in forum messages, so for reference for anyone else reading this, here are the two screenshots linked in the first message:

  • Does anyone know if there is a way to change the colors with the new update

Can anyone tell me how to change the colors on my IPhone with the new IOS update?

Nope, this only changes it to black and magenta.  I wsh I could find it again, it's there I promise.. There is a whole list of colors, I changed it to red and want to see if black is better.  Just don't care for all the blue..

  • How do I copy just the color with the Eye Dropper Tool?

Anytime I use the tool to copy a color, the entire format copies and changes the look of the object I already have selected. Is there a way to set my preferences so I only copy color with the Eye Dropper tool?

Hmm...I'm not sure what's going wrong, but even that doesn't seem to work. I think using Shift will help fine, because I do still benefit from copying objects in the same format. But I still appreciate the help. Thanks.

  • Flare in a Grey color with the black background

    Hi:
I just need to fix this problem and can't find a solution.
Why I'm getting a grey Flare when I open it with a black background, but it's in color when I open it in a white background?
I know that flare works better with a black background, but for any reason it looks grey and it's hard to create effects.
Can anybody help me? please. I'll appreciate it.
    Thanks
    - Pepe

This is very exciting you are the third person to post a qquestion about the flare tool since I can remenber and I can remember before the falre tool existed.
You need to have the flare effect behind an object to get the full impact so you would put it behind a black object or a colored object. If you place it on a white back ground you only se the actual construction of the device before it has the effect which has to be applied to an object.
So how do you get a white object to show the effect since does not work with a white object?
Interesting that you asked you apply it say to a black object instead. You say what? that is the opposite of what i want?
    Abraccadabra!
you open it with Photshop as a Smart Object that keeps it a live ai file which can be update and the changes will be reflected in the photoshop file.
You then go to layers>Adjustments>invert and that will make the color object white instead of black but will also ivert the colors of the flare
but you can adjust those colors using Hue Saturation as an adjust manet layer
then save as a psd file and place it in Illustrator as linked files, you will be able to adjust the smart object in ai save it then save the psd file and it will updated in the new illustrator file.
    Created in AI
Placed in Photoshop as a smart object and given a Invert adjustment layer
then I worked on the color with Hue Saturation adjustment layer you can acheive a lot more than I tried that way.

  • How to synchronize colors with two different video cameras

I own Sony FX1 and HC9 video cameras. The color between the two video cameras can be pretty noticeable, and I tend to flip between the two cameras a lot during editing. Ideally I would get them to match up better before I start filming, but despite my attempts, I still can see a noticeable difference between them in post-production. I know I can use the color corrector filter to adjust the colors, but is there a more effective way to adjust the colors of the two video so they match better? I have used that eyedropper on the "visual" screen of the color corrector to adjust the white balance. Is there something similar where I could for example click the eyedropper on the blue of one video and it would change the blue of the video from the second camera to match?

You don't really have the controls for that in FCE. You can't fine tune the color with real precision for color matching in FCE. There is a match hue function with the eyedropper, but without separate shadows, mids, and highlight color controls there is only so much you can do.

  • How do I change the color of the users name after they sign in?

I am trying to change the color of the users name after they have signed in on the top right hand corner. When you hove over the login it shows up "Welcome (Users name) Log Out", The "welcome" and "log out" are in white and I know how to change them, but trying to find out how to change the name so it appears a different color is getting the better of me. Please help.

    Hi blackroseuk7,
You can use firebug to inspect the element to see what div to target and from there you can set the color with CSS.
    Hope this helps!

  • Image based of all the colors currently in the swatch

Are there anyone who know a method or script that enables generation of an image based of all the colors currently in the swatch?
I would want it to fill a grid, with a patch of the color with the colors name underneath it, and with the name of the swatch as a header on a black background. Maybe even with the lab, cmyk and rgb values underneath each color.
The colors need to be arranged in the same manner as in the swatch.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sure this is possible, but you might want to post this in the scripting forum or on ps-scripts.com.  Here is a link to a topic along the lines that you want on ps-scripts.com:

  • Replace color with transparency?

    Hello,
Using the Replace Color Tool, I can't find transparancy as the new color. Am I doing something wrong? If not, would there be another way to replace a color with transparancy in Fireworks? I have Fireworks 8 (and I love it).
    Thanks,
    Frank

Great question. I have to admit, I've never used the Replace Color Tool—I didn't even know it was there.
Initially, I thought you might have been referring to the Find panel, which is useful for replacing colors with vector objects. It, too, lacks support for transparency. There is a trick you can do to force the transparent (or "None") swatch to appear: In the hex code input of the Color Picker, add a "0" to the end of the 6-digit hex code. The problem is, this won't actually work to replace the color with transparency; once you try to apply it, the color reverts to its previous value.
If you're working with bitmaps, your best bet might be to use a bitmap selection tool or command, and then once the color is selected, just use the Delete key to remove it. If working with vector objects, remember that you can always select multiple objects and then use the Properties inspector to adjust the fill or stroke color of all the selected objects at once. Also, using Symbols can allow you to edit just a single object and have it affect multiple instances.

  • How can I use the color adjustments interface that shows up for camera RAW on jpeg files?

How can I use the color adjustments interface that shows up for camera raw on other files types? The HLS controls had the secondary color adjustments (6 colors instead of the 3). Plus, it had same vibrancy and a better Curves interface. Yesterday was the first time I imported raw into Photoshop CS5 and I got that really cool interface. What is that? Can I use that on other file formats?

Actually I am using the Tradional Chinese Version, when I try to edit the jpg file with camera raw, the system shows that there is no camera raw plug-in. The cmaera raw never work.

  • Why the colors look so different betweet my Camera Raw and Bridge?

We know that after editing images in Camera Raw, thumbnails in Bridge will updated according to the new xmp files.
However, for some of my Raw files, the colors look very different in Bridge after makeing adjustments in Camera Raw, I can see more red in those phoots. But when I reopen the file in Camera Raw, all the colors are just correct.
For those photos without applying xmp files the colors looks exactly the same in Camera Raw and Bridge.
Does this means that my Camera Raw and Bridge use different color space? How can I fix this problem? Thank you

If you want help, you need to specify your platform (Mac or Windows), the exact versions of your Operating System, Photoshop, ACR plug-in and Bridge.
Also look at your Bridge preferences and tell us what you have your Thumbnail preferences set to.
Re-setting your preferences and purging the cache would also help.  It could be something as simple as a corrupt cache.
Bridge is Color Managed, but it does not use a color space of its own.  It applies the color space with which each image is tagged, it assigns sRGB to untagged files.
When was the last time you calibrated and profiled your monitor?
    Details would help.

  • Different Color in RAW as compared with Editor?

When I open a NEF file in elements 9, work on the file and finally click on the icon 'open picture' the color in the editor is different as compared with may raw. what happend??? klaus2337

thanks for your help. I checked whether the color settings are in sync...they are. but whatever i used (either without color or user oriented etc. The result is, that either the JPG file, which I open in the editor, or the raw file (from the same picture using the option JPG and RAW in the Nikon Camera) is different when I save the raw file with the icon 'open picture'

  • Dynamic range of the color red in RAW files.

I have seen this issue with my 70D and my SX-50 so it seems to be an issue with Canon cameras in general (I don't know if other camera makes have this too). Whenever I photograph something that has the color red (for me I often photograph birds) the jpegs look fine but I always start with post processing of RAW files. Anywhere the red color is found I find the color saturates out very easily. I use Adobe Photoshop Essentials (PSE) for post processing and cannot get the RAW adjusted/processed to look anywhere as good as the jpeg as detail is lost when red saturates out. This is not a problem with any other color.
For now I end up opening the jpeg as RAW in PSE and start my adjustments there which give me a better picture with finer detail than starting with the original RAW file. I will post this same question in the PSE forum to see who else noticed this and what their work around is.

Re: " All digital cameras suffer from over saturation of the red channel. It is just the way they are. It doesn't matter whether it is CCD or a CMOS sensored camera."
Just for the record I have owned 1Ds2, 1Ds3, every version of 5D, etc and all have had red issued.
I now also own a Nikon D610 and there is no such issue of over saturation of the red channel in RAW. This is one reason that I shoot the Nikon over the 6D almost all the time. The added DR goes a long way. The D610 files are just easier to work with and a lot faster to reach a final image. Desaturating the red channel on the Canon files obviously causes other issues.
I am impatiently waiting for Canon to put out a camera with a comparable sensor.

  • Aperture 3.4.1 changes the colors of my previously processed RAW files!

I am revisiting some projects that I worked on in the last couple of months and am assembling a portfolio. When I was trying to choose my favorites I noticed in disbelief that some of my carefully editited and color graded photos looked great in the preview (as I remembered them) but once the "loading" sign disappeared turned horrible with hightlights and different colors!
Mind you, I am not talking about the handling of RAW files after an import. It happens months after import and post-processing has happened and was behaing beautifully. Basically 2000 photos are screwed up this way and I'd have to painfully recreate the raw files by the (still existing) proper previews/thumbnails???
I am thoroughly confused and it would be great if someone could give me some pointers to the dilemma (or even confirm a bug in that regard)
    Thanks, Louis

Nah, "Highlight Priority Mode" was switched off.
    Here's the examples:
    1. This is my finished picture. The information is still avaliable in the preview. So this is what I wanted it to look like and how I remembered it.

    2. This is how Aperture makes it look now!!!

    3. This is what it looks like when I make a copy from the original and then stamp the old settings onto it.

Go figure. It's just random and did I mentioned that I am deeply frustrated with an otherwise excellent program? :-)
If this is bound to happen with our pictures, how can we reliably work with this? I have paying clients who come back to me months and years after and need to have access to their stock of photos.

  • Inconsistency in the Preview with Color Noise Reduction

Adobe guys:  You have a bad variable  access, bad pointer, or something in Camera Raw with regard to Color Noise Reduction...
If I have color noise reduction turned off (set to 0), I see this:
And in fact it converts to just what shows in the preview:
If I bump the Color noise reduction slider up to 1 with the Color Detail slider at 100, I get this wonderful DeBayer smoothing in the preview:
But alas, this is what comes out in the conversion:
The smoothing shown DOES in fact match if one sets the Color Detal slider to 50 at the middle of the scale:
This is just an annoyance, but it does take some trial and error to see what you really want the Color Detail slider set to.
By the way, I notice that the jaggies come and go seemingly randomly when the Color Detail slider is at 100 and I move the Color slider.  I suspect you're reading the wrong or random location for Color Detail, or maybe have an overflow/underflow condition somehow.
Object oriented programming - fraught with gotchas.
    -Noel

What you are seeing is a limitation of the diagonal/curve behavior of the current demosaic method on colored boundaries, combined with the (preview-quality) color noise reduction with specific settings.  It is the demosaic strategy that is at fault here (and is why you see these results in the final exported result).
