The compare photo function no longer works when I hit enter....
When I select a photo that I want to set as the compare item by hitting enter, I just get a soft horn type sound and the select item does not set for compare. This used to work but no longer does. The menu option is even grayed out so I cannot perform this function. I have no idea why this just stopped working. If anyone has any thoughts it would be much appreciated.

sailor is right, you have to enter the compare mode first. this however is only available when the viewer is open. apple claims, this is "by design" (and new to 2.1.1), i personally find this a step back and painful.
if you use dual monitors and have the secondary screen set to alternate and only show the browser on your main monitor (just as an example), you can not enter the compare mode. in such setup you'd have to hit V first to enable the viewer, then enter compare mode, then switch back to browser (to get back to where you started). once compare mode is on, you can continue to compare on your secondary screen.

When you try to delete a row in an editable table using the built-in functions, it no longer works. We use this function regularly and just noticed this problem today. The "create row above" and "create row below" functions work, just not the delete. The delete column button does work however, so it's a bit baffling why this one function does not work. (The pages are located on our internal server so are not publicly accessible but the functionality is built into firefox.)
Same problem here. I found out that when you have a table with only 1 row, it works fine, but when you have multiple rows, it doesn't work on any row.
Micmark, do you have that too?
P.S. I also tried this outside our CMS, by using Firebug to add a contenteditable="true" on a DIV in a normal font-end template, and that has the same problem. -
Importing Photos function no longer working
I'm currently on the trial run of Adobe Story.
Is there a limit as to how photos can be imported into a multi-column AV format. I've added 59 photos to my script and I don't know why I can't upload anymore photos into the system.
I tried deleting a larger file photo and replaced it with a smaller file size of the same photo but there is no change. I undid the delete and am not able to add images at this point.
Is there a workaround? Has this happened to anyone else?
I need help pretty quick. We are working on this script within the next day for a documentary.

JuliaThe Send Again function does work if I first open the message I've already sent. Is that the way it's supposed to work? I used to be able to use the function after just highlighting the message in the list.

Search function no longer works when Mail folder is encrypted

This problem is a result of my attempt to put my User/Library/Mail folder onto an encrypted disk image, so that my mail images would be encrypted without having to encrypt my WHOLE Account with FileVault (rendering Time Machine virtually useless). Like many, I had to create a symbolic link from the terminal rather than use the Alias...that wasn't a problem. I can send/receive/read/write email all while it stays safely encrypted on the Sparse disk image that I created (by the way THANKYOU for making creating the sparse BUNDLE image an option, this makes it useable for time machine so it doesn't back up the whole thing)...Mail appeared to work perfectly with my folder in the new location
HOWEVER...I quickly discovered that the search tool in the upper right hand corner of the Mail View no longer works...It will allow me to search the "from", "to" and "subject" lines like any old mail program would, BUT the "Entire Message" option returns on results. There must be something special about the Library folder in my Home folder, because I haven't restricted my spotlight settings. In fact with the disk mounted, I even re-indexed my WHOLE computer just to see what would happen. Spotlight is able to search for FILE names on my encrypted disk, but the search "Entire Message" still doesn't work...are there any solutions? I've spent a great deal of time searching the internet for a solution to no avail. I feel like this question requires a real mac genius, but there are other people throughout other forums posting the same question with no answer. I'm no genius, but I'm not afraid of using Terminal if I'm told the basic gist of what should be typed there. I would love to see his answered fully. Thanks!

I strongly suggest that you report this to Apple. Send Feedback and send bug reports and enhancement requests via its Bug Reporter system. To do the latter, join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure over submitting feedback is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

I cannot get my e-mail to automatically enter addresses in the "TO:" box. In the past, I would get a list of e-mail recipients to appear when I typed 1 letter. That function no longer works. Do I need to change a setting or what?

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong. I could also send screen shots of this data.
At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR. This is not normal. I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution. If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.

I just got an iphone 4s. Now the search iphone function is not working. When I swipe the start screen, the search box shows up. But when I type what I want to search, there is no action. Please help.

The watermark on export function no longer works...
The watermark on export function no longer works... and when I go to edit the watermarks, it closes out the edit watermark window.
Any suggestions?
-Sean RayfordHi - Not sure there is a lot you can do, unfortunately. With that said, I'd definnitely do a reset of the printer:
Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from back of the product.
Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 90 seconds.
Connect the power cord into wall outlet.
Connect the power cord to the back of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button ( ) to turn it on.
Try the touchpad.
One other thing to try, disconnect if from the computer/router, power it off and see if you have the same problem. If you're still seeing the same issue after following the steps listed above, it would likely need to be serviced if you want the touchscreen fixed.

I can no longer print to the 3 Canon printers on my local area network. The print dialog box states that the print file is accepted and the job is printing, but the files never print. Everything worked when the computer and printers were initially set up.
There may be some security issues related to the USPS PDFs.

Today it crashed in two new places. In the notification center and when I opened newstand app I no longer was able to return to the main window and the dock disappeared.

The XCarlink iPhone/iPod accessory for Mazda Bose autochangers is functioning differently after iOS 5.1. The Shuffle function no longer works and it plays Albums or Genius Playlisys only (not self-made playlists). Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Previously, the iPod function enabled one to see the track that was playing and control playback (such as repeat or shuffle) via the iPhone screen. Now all I see is an "Accessory Connected" message.Somewhere in there, is there a question for us, your fellow users in these user to user support forums?

After using my iPod classic in my infinity G35 a for the last few weeks, I took it out of the car and it no longer works. Just a white screen with the web address for Apple iPod support. Worked fine when hooked up to iPod jack in car. But won't work anywhere now. I tried re-setting but has not worked. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!! -

Nothing. It's nothing to do with PSE; this is a limitation of Photos, as is the loss of being able to use an external editor without exporting copies of your images.
