The Comparing RAW with TS Time Lapse Recording file for MSI PANOCAM

I am a big fan of MSI, I have been using its motherboard, MP3 and NB. MSI introduces a new IOT product in 2015, MSI PANOCAM, I feel excited about it, therefore I wanna share some experience of MSI PANOCAM here.
Have you heard Time-Lapse, it is very popular skill for movie and advertisement. it looks very interesting because Time-Lapse shows interval recording fast forwarded.  It has been widely used in various industry, such as observation of flower growth; building construction and natural scene change.
The Comparing Analysis of RAW and TS file for Time Lapse
How to manage time lapse recording file is critical problem in the marketplace many end-users encountered. Generally speaking, there are two categories file have been used as Time Lapse recording, one is RAW file and another one is TS file.
The advantage of RAW would be better video retouched, such as more flexibility of colorful balance, color temperature adjustment and less Zoom in/out distortion. Especially, RAW is quite suitable for weak light resource environment and low speed camera shutter. Therefore, the requirement capacity of RAW file is larger than TS.
As beginner, be familiar with TS is suggested here, you can not perform as high quality as professional RAW quality until you learn proper shooting skill. Practicing shooting skill is necessary and should be prior than video retouching.
Left part is shooting by TS and ambiguous scene can be seen; Right part is RAW which demonstrates more detail scene

To change the amount of time you want each frame to display, you can do one of 2 things:
-Change the frame rate of the Image Sequence in the Media settings (select the layer and typ Shift F). If the frame rate is less than the project frame rate, your clip will play more slowly.  If the frame rate is greater than the project frame rate, it will play more quickly.
-Change the Speed in the Timing section (Inspector->Properties->Timing).  This is the method I think most people use.
To blend the frames, change the Frame blending option, also in the Timing section of the properties.

Does On Location Cs4 Support Time Lapse HDV Recording?

HArm, I believe the poster was asking if Ol does time lapse capture of real time video. It does not. If the source video is already time lapse, then of course it can. but if this was the situation I doubt they would be asking the question.
This feature was in old versions of Premiere 6 and 6.5 so many folks were hoping it would reappear in Pr or Ol at some point. It hasnt yet. (You could tell premiere 6.5 to capture say every 200th frame)

  • Is time lapse recording back in iMovie '09?

iMovie HD (v.6) had a built-in time-lapse recording function that would use your webcam; it was pretty cool. iMovie '08 got ridd of it for some inexplicable reason, does anyone know if it's back?
    Thanks =)

It's a fairly hard-core feature (but I guess so is green screen) so hardly surprising it didn't make it in to the 'new' iMovie.
    For now, would this help?

At the moment i have to go into post-production and manually set the graph equalizer at various time points ...

This won't be real-time as you record, but you could tweak the EQ in real-time after the recording thus:
Record what you want to tweak into GB with no effects.
Solo the track and output it into something like Audacity.
Start Audacity recording, then play your track in GB as you make those tweaks. That's what Audacity will record.
Get that file from Audacity and put it into GB, then you'll have that effect.
Sorry if it's complicated, but that's what came to mind. Hope it works.

Wi-Fi access can be limited using the Timed Access feature of the AirPort routers. You would do so using the AirPort Utility.

With Lion 10.7.1. you where able to drag events from "All Day Events" into the "Reminders" bar to create upcoming reminders.

Exactly the same question I was about to post!
Great being able to sync reminders (well overdue) however if I have to re-type a calener envent into reminders it's a waste of time!!
    Come on Apple!!
Just need an option for the calender event to add to reminder or the old drag to add to reminder functionality back, Please???

I had a generic record class that has a HashMap to hold the data fields (...)
method called createRecord() for each record type which would populate the HashMap with the correct data fieldsI'm not sure I understand: are the contents of this field map the same between two records of the same type? Then yes, you don't need to clone the map per record instance.
one thing that needs fixing is the fact that each time the createRecord() method is called I'm creating a new fieldMap to define the dataFields in the record class.Probably, but that will only get you a little bigger files; you won't gain an order of magnitude on the size of files. The problem for huge files is that as soon as their content is bigger than the available memory, you'll run into problems. A more radical approach if you need to address huge files is to process the records on the fly, and not load all records in memory. Of course not all algorithms or business logic can afford that...
I know I could rewrite the code and create a class for each record type and declare the fieldMap static but I was wondering if anyone had any better suggestions The Record instance could receive and keep a reference to its RecordType instance, and ask the RecordType instance the DataType for a field's name. That way the RecordType encapsulates the map, and there's less risk that a clumsy other class modifies the static map.
before I go rewriting a load of code.A load of code?!? Even with the idea of the static map, you only have to edit the enum type (well more accurately, each RecordType enumerated constant's createRecord() method).

There's an Apple technical document on this issue somewhere, but the problem was supposed to be addressed by a Pro Applications update a couple of years ago... • Finite pulse-train generation with variable time lapses with NiDAQmx

Being a newby in Labview and NiDAQmx, I find it tedious to program the application I need to drive my experiment : I want to generate a finite pulse train, with variable delays between two consecutive pulses. These delays are known before the experiment starts, summurized in a table (element 0 decribes the time lapse between pulse 0 and 1, element 1 between pulse 1 and 2 ...). I would like to use NiDAQmx to program this. I had in mind the following scheme : two counters, first one counting time between pulses, the second one generating the pulse once "counter one" has finished his job. What I don't figure out is how to reprogram "counter one"'s register, without introducing unwanted delays in the time
sequence of my finite pulse train. I am using a 6052E DAQ, and I want to generate delays in a same pulse train ranging from 1 microsecond up to 20 seconds.
Thank you for ANY help :-)

    Hello !
Well, I will try to be more precise while answering your questions. But first let me thank you very much for your help : your comments, questions and remarks are very helpful to help me shape my project, as you shed light on particular problems I strictly had no idea before !
    1) I can certainly get on well with digital output as my flash device is triggered by TTL signals.
    2) The lighting device is home-made, and I think it will be better for my needs to produce light throughout the duration of the input at the “on” level. In any case it will be driven by TTL-like signals. The intensity is manually set, so no analog control is required.
    3) I will use Labview to collect the experimental data. The signal will be sampled during the light pulse : the rising edge of the TTL-like output signal will trigger both the lighting device and the data acquisition, the latter being stopped on the falling edge. The light emitted by the lighting device is called a “probe” for the following reasons : the photons are absorbed by the photosynthetic sample and “immediately” re-emitted at a longer wavelength. A photodiode acts as a signal transducer, and I monitor the intensity of this fluorescence. Knowing precisely when light pulses occurred after the initial start excitation (which is also a brief pulse of light but of a much greater intensity than the “probe” light) and the intensity of light emitted during theses pulses, I can reconstruct the kinetic of fluorescence decay. This kinetic reflects the behaviour of my biological sample. Thus no continuous acquisition is required as between two light pulses there is nothing to monitor. And all the half-time reaction are timed relative to the same “start” excitation as they reflect a jump sequence of an electron extracted by the “start” excitation : first jumps are quick ones (half-time in the 10 s range) and last jumps are slow ones (half-time in the 1 s range). With respect to these kinetics, I would like a 1 s precision. If not achievable, I could skip the quickest jump (but it would be a pity) and focus on the second one which has a 10 ms half-time reaction and a 100 s precision would then be enough. But as we say in French : “Qui peut le plus, peut le moins !” (roughly meaning that when you can achieve the best, you easily can do the least). This precision relates to the position of one flash with respect to the others. I don’t need to be very precise on the duration of each individual light pulse : a typical value is 100 s duration, but I can get on well with 90 s or 110 s, my data being an average of the light intensity emitted during the light pulse). All I want to know precisely is when it is fired.
    4) Concerning the hardware, I already have a NI 6052E DAQ board, and unfortunately my laboratory cannot allow me to spend more money on this. I also have a fast acquisition board (IMTEC T3012) I intended to use to acquire my photodiode signal in place of the 6052E A/D converter. It has an old Labview driver, and I managed to upgrade it to suit my needs. It has an onboard segmented memory and can keep track precisely (it has a 60 MHz sample clock) of a trigger event. I am wondering if I can overcome the timing precision issue with this board, knowing that I strictly don’t care that flash n1 is triggered at (t0 + 10 s) or (t0 + 11 s), provided that I know it, allowing me to place precisely my data point on the time scale. I can program the number of memory segments (i.e. the number of light pulses) and each one is filled with data coming from the photodiode upon receiving the rising edge triggering the light pulse. The precise date at which each triggered is received is stored in the board memory, allowing time reconstruction.
I do hope this is much clearer than my previous attempts ! Believe me, it is quite hard to leave biology for a while and enter the cryptic world of data acquisition !

  • Write 32 channels thermistor data (temp in degree vs date/time) into xls file for all channels continuously.

i am acquiring 32 channels thermistor data (temp in degree vs date/time) in waveform plot using array to cluster function  ,
now my problem is how to write this data  into xls file for all channels continuously.
please help me at the earliest & i am new to Labview.

    Hi Priyanka,
Writing to excel file continuously is not a good idea, you can use ".CSV" or TDMS file format and once data acquisition is completed you can convert that to excel file using report generation toolkit.

  • Is Final Cut Pro the only software that can open video .MXF files for Macs?

    Hello,
Many thanks in advance for your attention.
Trying to find software that will edit .MXF Video Files to work with Mac.
As the edit is simple, prefer iMovie, but happy if the Conversion software only works with FCExpress (or even FCPro if that is the only alternative).
    1. If it matters, .MXF (Material Exchange Format) Video files came from shooting on a Panasonic 500 P2. Originally downloaded onto a Windows system, using Adobe Premiere.
    2. I just want to see and convert some of the shots I did for my Reel, etc., but I have a Mac.
    3. I have iMovie HD, iMovie 09, and FCExpress (which I don't know how to use that well).
    4. When I attach an External HD with backup files of all the footage shot, they show up named as .MXF files. They appear as VLC files (VLC icon), but the suffix is .MXF.
    5. When I try to play them as VLC files, they won't play. It seems they start to play, but then the VLC software quits.
    6. So I have tried downloading some software on the Internet that Google says converts .MXF files.
I tried: iSkysoft Video Converter, AVCWare Mac Video Converter, MPEG Streamclip, and a couple others. They all seem to have basically the same conversion setups, but when I click to pick one .MXF file, none of them recognize it. (The file in my Browse window is greyed out).
    7. MoyaVideo Converter for Mac recognizes the .MXF file, but when I hit the "conversion" button - I tried a couple different settings, all it seems to convert is the first frame. Even if the .MXF file says a clip is 123MB or 43 seconds long, etc.
    8. I can't even watch the clip in Preview. Press Play and it is just the first frame.
    9. I have read elsewhere in these forums, some people touting conversion software from a company in Germany - mfxformac. I am fine with paying for conversion software, but $500?
    10. And I have read elsewhere that only Final Cut Pro has a codec that will open .MXF files. If this is so, why do the above companies claim to have software that opens .MXF files for Mac?
    11. Isn't there a further problem if I can't even see the video using VLC? Or is that because I am using Mac and need FCPro with the right codec?
Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated.

MXF files from P2 can only be imported using FCP. iMovie can't, nor FCE...if you are talking about APPLE software. Avid deals with MXF files natively. But FCP will ONLY import them if the entire P2 card structure is intact. Please tell me that you have the entire P2 card backups. If not, then it won't work. If you do...then here is the process for importing into FCP:
    P2 Workflow with FCP 6
    3. I have iMovie HD, iMovie 09, and FCExpress (which I don't know how to use that well).
Then you need someone to provide you with QT files of this footage. None of them work with P2.
NONE of the converters you listed will work... Sorry.
    9. I have read elsewhere in these forums, some people touting conversion software from a company in Germany - mfxformac. I am fine with paying for conversion software, but $500?
That software is to get it to work with Final CUt Pro natively. What it doesn't do is convert the footage to QTs. There is also Raylight and Calibrated...but again, they are for FCP.
P2 is a professional format, and to use it you need professional software. iMovie won't work...nor will FCE. If you need to work with it in those formats, you need to have someone import the files and convert them to AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec).
HD Log might work...but not sure what QT format it converts to. A demo is available.

  • Best practice with respect to wcf configuration files for SSIS

So after reading a lot of posts and blogs on how to configure SSIS to read from configuration files , I am still not clear and would like any expert to provide a definitive stance. In my case the WCF service consumption is wrapped into a separate assembly.
I am referencing the assembly in an embedded C# script within my SSIS package.
When I make the helper class call to the webservice , I get the endpoint not found WCF exception.
Keep in mind I am running this from VS 2012 IDE and did the following to make sure the WCF call works:
    1. Googled and found that you need to have config entries in DtsDebugHost.exe.config file. But it still did not work
    2. Had the same entries in the associated app.config file for C# script but it still did not work.
It seems like SSIS is very fragile w.r.t consuming WCF entires in a config file. Is the best practice to just have the end point created in code and externalize the end point as a SSIS variable / xml file or is there really a way to get these config files working.
Attached is the wcf snippet of my config file.
    <system.serviceModel>
    <bindings>
    <basicHttpBinding>
    <binding name="ITransactionProcessor">
    <security mode="TransportWithMessageCredential" />

I have the code working without use of config files. I am just disappointed that it is not working using the configuration files. That was one of the primary intents of my code re-factoring.
     Katherine
Xiong , If you are proposing this as an answer then does this imply that Microsoft's stance is not to use configuration files with SSIS?? Please answer.

  • Could someone please recommend the best program to convert AVI and MPEG files for use (and exporting) into IMovie 11?

Hi - I understand I need to convert AVI and MPEG files for use within IMovie 11. I have one particular file that has a watermark stating "Created with Flip4Mac WMV Demo". Can someone please recommend the best program for a novice?  Thanks!

    Hi Susan,
It is no simpler converting vobs to mp4 than mpg (mpeg2).
There is *always* a loss of quality converting video from one lossy-compressed format to another, e.g. mpeg2 to mp4.
So, if you want to not lose any quality, then converting vobs to mpeg2 (mpg) is the thing to do (since there will be no video/audio re-compression), assuming Lr5 will accept them (sorry, but I do not know). example commands:
    Mac: ffmpeg -i myvideo.vob -sameq myvideo.mpg
    Win: ffmbc -i myvideo.vob -sameq myvideo.mpg
If Lr5 won't accept them, then you can convert to mp4 with minimal quality loss using a command like:
    Mac: ffmpeg -i myvideo.vob -sameq myvideo.mp4
    Win: ffmbc -i myvideo.vob -sameq myvideo.mp4
You may need variations of these commands depending on encoding of vob.
Note: -i means -input-file; -sameq means -same-quality, as much as possible.
ffm... is smart enough to avoid re-encoding, if possible, when -sameq is used, and makes reasonable choices for audio/video codecs based on extension of output file.
Of course, you'll need to download/install ffm... program if not already on your machine, and execute commands in a terminal or command window.
Do keep us posted please .
    Cheers,
    Rob

  • Why did the latest update (31.1.2) delete database files for primary email account in profile?

After restarting TB to apply the 31.1.2 update, all of the database files for my primary email account were apparently deleted. Restarting TB again got it to start syncing with the IMAP server again, but it has to download around 100,000 messages again because of this. Was this a design decision or is there a problem with the update itself? And why did it only affect my primary email account and leave the other 4 (much smaller ones) unscathed?

Account5 is the one affected which is still attempting to sync. It also appears that my sync choices were altered without permission or notification. I always keep the Deleted folder and the POP subfolder from Hotmail accounts disabled since it is merely duplicating content in other folders. When re-checking the sync settings because it was taking so long, I found that the POP subfoler was selected for sync again.
The crash report is from a later TB crash, the first one ever on this system.
    3. Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition, Cox Communications (shouldn't matter whatsoever), the affected account is Hotmail/Outlook.com, unaffected accounts: 2 GMail, 1 Yahoo, 1 CenturyLink
