Thanks--lot's of useful information in that guide. I'm getting the Marware Eco-vue and was glad to see it was well regarded. For someone looking for an inexpensive sleeve, the Kensington at $10.00 looks good.
I also found their notes on screen protection interesting. I was going to forgo screen protection, but their experiences are making me think again.

If you don't have them backed up somewhere, then there's little possibility of recovering them. There are some utilities that can in some cases recover an inadvertently-deleted photo, but I've found none that can recover photos or other data from an iPad that was erased as part of an iOS upgrade. You can do a web search for something like "iPhone photo recovery" and you'll find some utilities you can try.

My laptop blew up. The hard drive was still good so I put the hard drive into a case and I can access it as a drive via USB. How do I import the bookmarks from the old drive to the new drive?

With a PDF Dynamic form using show/hide actions, how to ensure that when the completed form is saved, closed and re-opened, the form still show the fields as before it was closed?
I have developed a form with fields hidden by default, that become visible based on box ticked or radio button selections.
My problem is that, when I close the form and re-open it, it comes back to it's default presentation, regardless of the information already recorded in the form (including in the now hidden fields.
How to correct that

Go to the "Form properties..." in the File-menu. Select "Run-time" to the left and in the box "Scripting" Preserve scripting changes to form when saved: choose Automatically (Script-based state changes are saved locally in an insecure fashion. This option cannot be used for certified forms).

The external drive with my photo library went bad, but I have the photos on my ipad, ipod and iphone. How to I get those photos back into iphoto on my macbook?
Are the photos you want to send back to your mac on your iPad, iPod, iPhone saved to the camera roll? If you have photos in other albums (not camera roll) share them to the camera roll.
Then connect your device via USB and lauch iPhoto. You will see your device as a camera in iPhoto. Import those photos like you would import from a camera. -
Tried everything. Still get "backup could not be saved on the computer". Have iPad 1 and Windows 7 (64 bit) with all latest updates. Now what? Is iPad 1 now incompatible with iTunes?

My Siri and microphone in other apps hasn't been working lately. I've cleaned the mics, took off te case, and it's still not working. My camera only picks up audio when it's off of vibrate. And now I can't answer texts with the new pull down thing. please help

Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have made numerous attempt to download the ios6 on my iPad 3 and it starts but then stops and gives me an error message. Someone suggested that it could be done on my main computer in iTunes but that has to be updated and I don't know how to tell if mine has been updated or not. How do I get this installed? You could have more 5 computers authorized if you ever, for example, reformatted a hard drive or replaced a hard drive without deauthorizing the computer first. Apple's system would see that as a different computer, even though you don't. There's nothing to be afraid of in deauthorizing everything and the reauthorizing what you actually have. You won't lose any data. Mistimp is correct, they can't tell you which computers are authorized. -

Check settings an make sure FaceTime is turned on and addresses are configured (Settings app > FaceTime)
Check all of your home screens and folders. It could have been inadvertantly moved (you can also use Spotlight search to check fior it: Swipe down form the home screen. This will also let you know it it is in a folder) -
