The computer I used for itunes Died.  I went to transfer my itunes library to my new computer and it is telling me I can only sync purchases.   I had downloaded more than a undred CDs to my itunes before selling them.  How do I regain access?

HI.  I am hoping someone can help me.  The computer I have used for the last 5 years for my I tunes died.   I got a new computer and went to transfer my itunes play lists over - and see that I can only transfer purchases.  To make matters worse, in order to syn cthe ipod to future purchases it will only sync what is on this computer.  Since I cannot access the old computer, I cannot "copy" the files as all the help topics are directing me to do.  And just authorizing this new computer means I am going to lose all of my non purchased music and playlists.  Can someone PLEASE help me

in order for you to save your CD music you will have to use a 3rd party extractor to put the content onto the new computer

this is one extractor you can use
hope this helps:)

I have Acrobat XI Pro and have been experiencing all sorts of "freeze ups" with it ever since Adobe released the new Acrobat DC the other week.  I see that an automatic update was pushed down to my Acrobat XI Pro at the same time.  Is this the first issue you have encountered with your Acrobat XI, or have you been having other issues suddenly as well??  Just wondering ...

  • Can you sync an iPad 2 to more than one computer.

I got a new ipad2. Can I sync it with my Mac at my house and also on my pc at work

You can authorize more than one computer with iTunes, but you have to maintain your iTunes library on one machine.  Otherwise, you'll have a syncing nightmare.  So, it's not advisable to sync to more than one computer as you'll be in a situation where you'll lose data from one machine to the next.  Come this fall when iOS 5 is released, you won't need to sync with a computer at all.  For the time being, I recommend you limit syncs to one computer.........

    No.
To avoid this, transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to the new computer per the instructions included with this link along with all photos and all other important data you will need or want to access on the new computer.

  • How do I transfer my music library to a new computer?

My old computer died and I got a new one. I got my itunes purchases on my new computer, but I have a lot of other music. The only option I see in itunes is sync which would replace my phones library with the itunes library... which I don't want. I want to replace my itunes library with my phones library without the use of my old computer.

You mean you never made backups of your old computer? This is the Third Millennium; it just seems incredible to me that anyone who uses a computer doesn't make regular backups of it. Perhaps the suggestion that everyone should be required to have to pass a license test to use a computer isn't such a bad one after all.
The iPhone is not a backup device; if you have not kept backups of important data you cannot depend on the iPhone to make up for your mistake. However, if you google for "iphone file browser" you might find a solution.

  • Can I sync my Palm TX on more than one computer?

I have a Palm TX, loaded with all my information, I sync it with my primary PC. I would like to be able to sync it with my laptop & also another PC.  Is this possible and could someone walk me through the setup or procedure?
    Thanks MG
    Post relates to: Palm TX

Hello mgilhooley and welcome to the forums...
You can sync your device with multiple computers.  However, is is very important to use the same version of Palm Desktop on all the computers and the same username you are using on the original Desktop and device.  If these are different, you could get data corruption and duplicated contacts and end up corrupting all the Desktop applications.
To do this, install the same version of Palm Dektop to the computers in question, and simply sync the device.
Are you working with different Operating Systems on each computer or are they the same as well?  This may determine whether you can sync with that device.  For example, Vista 64 bit will not allow a cable sync option.....
Good Luck and let us know how you did...
    Thanks,

  • HT1296 Can you sync a apple ipod with more than one computer without loosing songs

Once an iphone or ipod has been connected to a computer can it be connected to another without loosing your ring tones or songs

No, even with manually managing music and video enabled.
Simply connecting the device to another computer and even to iTunes won't erase anything, but if you try to sync or transfer music or any other iTunes content, all existing iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first with a warning message provided beforehand that this will occur. The same applies when trying to transfer photos to the device from another computer.
You can import photos/videos from the camera roll as with any other digital camera with any computer.

  • I'm trying to transfer my iPhoto library to a new mac and I can't find the library on my old mac.

When I "revel in finder" a photo in my iPhoto app on my old mac, it shows the path: hard drive, user, meghanica, library, iphoto library and so on. BUT when I go to my hard drive and try to follow that path on my laptop, there is no "library" folder to open in meghanica. I have tried to spolight the library folder with no luck. All of my photos that I've looked at in iPhoto show this path. I can't figure out why when I go to my hard drive, it's not there. Any ideas? I'm using updated iPhoto '11 on os x Lion on a macbook pro. Thanks!

It sounds like the library might have been placed in your Home/Library folder which is invisible.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For  Mavericks, 10.9,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
When you find the iPhoto library move it to your Pictures folder.

  • HT201269 How can I transfer my old iTunes library to a new computer?

I just got a MacBook Pro and I'd like to be able to access the iTunes library from my old computer on it. I've tried Home Sharing but it doesn't allow me to transfer my old library to my new computer, it just allows me to listen to the songs from it. I'd like to be able to sync my iPhone with my current computer without the "Erase and Sync" message popping up. I've authorized my new computer to access my iPhone and I don't understand why I'm not allowed to transfer my old library to my new computer.

Have you tried the Migration Assistant that came with your new MBP?
