The computer is no longer autorised

Hi
I sometimes get a "The computer is no longer authorised to whatever it is.."
I can choose to re-authorise it, which it accepts with a sign: You have now authorised 3 of your five computers. After this another sign comes, "your computer is already authorised" (maybe that one comes first)..
"you cannot transfer these apps to the computer as its not authorised" is the next diaog appearing, which doesnt really bother me..
I have an iPhone that I sync ONLY on my PC with Windows Vista
I have an iPod Touch that I sync ONLY on my MAC with Snowleopard.
The problem is on both.
As mentioned, for each device, I am on computer number three according to iTunes, but I have only used the one... I am getting nervous I might run out of computers (according to iTunes)..
Does anyone have a suggestion as what to do?

Iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. If you sync to another, it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

I'm using a mac (OS X - snow leopord) and am printing over the network (wirelessly).
HP Photosmart Premium Fax All in One - C410a
I was only able to print one page and then both my printer and my computer would display an error message about the printer's inability to print. Since then I've been able to resolve my specific problem.
I
1. uninstalled HP from my computer (checked to ensure that my printer was no longer visible in my printers and the HP Utility software was nowhere to be found),
2. grabbed the software/driver update from Aug, 2010,
3. installed the Aug, 2010 update, and my problems seem to have been fixed.
This is where I got my 2010 update from (obviously you should get the driver/software applicable to your OS and specific printer):

Fatal: Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate

I was printing some documents and was doing great, all of a sudden the printer stopped and started showing this message;
+"fatal: Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate with your printer. Turn the printer off, check your printer connections and check for printer errors, and turn the printer back on."+
(the printer is a HP Photosmart 7760).
I've done everything I could think of to fix the problem but nothing (deleted the printer, re-added it, downloaded the new driver from the website, turned off and back on, re-started the computer) but then, I really really screwed things up when I went and deleted the "PrintJobMgr/Contents/MacOS/PrintJobMgr"
Wow! How smart. Now I'm trying to restore that file. I've looked in the internet to see if it is available, I got it from a friend but it doesn't work..
Please, can somebody tell me what can I do at this point.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the printer is connected to my Airport Extreme Router.

It sounds like you need to do a reinstall to get the PrintJobMgr back. I don't think you can use Pacifist (versiontracker.com) to install this separately, but it might be worth a try.
Reinstalling the PrintJobMgr should get you back to where you started. At this point, I would disconnect all the cables, turn off the printer, let it sit for a bit, then reconnect and power up the printer.

Hello, I have a HP Officejet J6480 All-in-One printer. When I try to print, I receive this error message:
"Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate with your printer. Turn the printer off, check your printer connections and check for printer errors, and turn the printer back on."
I am using a Mac PowerBook G4, OS v10.5.7. I have tried the following:
-- rebooted my Mac
-- turned printer off/on
-- rebooted wireless router
-- tried to print using USB cable.
I continue to receive the same error message. Helllllllllllllllp!!!!
A couple of other things I need to mention: I bought this printer in June and have been able to print just fine since purchasing
this printer. As recently as Friday, July 3, I was able to print and printed 6 or 7 pages then. This is CRAZY!!!!

The ipad wont sync and will return an error "Ipad cannot sync because the computer is no longer authorized to transfer the purchases..." But when I do a file devices transfer purchases.

It is successful. Updated to ios7 recently. I'm facing the problem since then. I've tried deauthorizing and then authorizing several times.

Thanks Gail but ive tried that as well as logging oht and back into my accounts on my iphone and mac but I still get that message. I actually found a solution by unckecking my synced music playlist and clicking sync to remove it and then reclicked on my playlist to sync and it actually synced notmally and I got all of my new songs so I wanted to test it again so I clicked on sync again and the message once again popped up until I did the un-syncing and re-syncing again. I guess I will keep doing that in the future even though its annoying but its better than resetting my iphone.

i keep having the same problem, my little cousin changed the passcode to my iphone 4s and she cant remember it. HT1420 Itunes says my iPhone5 cant be synced because the computer is no longer autorized for purchased items that are on this iPhone. My PC is authorized and my iPhone synced before I reloaded Windows.

I do have the same problem too. I don't know recently updated itunes to 11.1 and today I tried to install a free app and this message occurs no matter what I ve tried.

I have de authorised it then re done it but still the same . If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod has your purchased content from the iTunes Store, you can transfer the content to a computer that is authorized for your Apple ID.
Note: This option only works for content you purchased from the iTunes Store (as opposed to content from other sources, such as CDs you may have imported). For content you did not purchase from the iTunes Store, synchronization occurs in one direction only. This means your content can be copied from a computer to your iOS device, but cannot be copied from your device to a computer.
Open iTunes.
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
Enter your Apple ID and password. Then, click the Authorize button.
Connect your device your computer. If it is synced with another iTunes library, you may be asked if you want to "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer Purchases."
If that alert appears, click Transfer Purchases.
Important: Clicking Erase and Sync will delete any existing content currently on your device. The content would then be replaced with the content that is on the computer.
If you were not offered the option to transfer purchases:
After connecting your device to the computer, its icon appears in iTunes. Click the icon.
From the File > Devices menu, choose "Transfer Purchases from 'Your device name.'"
Note that the computer must be authorized for the Apple ID under which the purchases were made.

HP C4580: Communication Failure: The computer is no longer able to communicate with your printer.

Hi,
After having successfully set up the C4580 and run some test printouts which were all very satisfactory, this morning the above message appeared.
The error message box suggests to "Turn the printer off, check your printer connections and check for printer errors, and turn the printer back on."
I tried this, but I'm still unable to print. Any suggestions? By the way my computer is a Mac if this helps.

HT1420 i need to de-authorise a computer for itunes but the computer is no longer working and the other computers which have be authorised have also been thrown away. How can I manage this problem?

i have previously had computers authorised for itunes but all have been thrown away or are now so broken that they do not even turn on! Please can someone tell me how I can de-authourise them and authorise at least 1 new computer? I have lost alot of music etc from CD's but I'd at least like to be able to get back what I bought from itunes.

Follow the instructions in the article from which the question was posted to Deauthorize ALL computer then authorize the one's that you actually have/use.

I now use Firefox, but not sure which product number. Mozilla has been automatically downloading an update. When it is downloaded, the browser does not work. I keep having to restore the computer, and before long you download again. Help.

I'd like to stop the automatic downloads number one.
I'd also like a possible explanation as to why the new version will not work. I know that Microsoft downloaded a bunch of changes (12) that also seemed to screw up my computer. I have switched off their automatic downloads.

As for why your version does not work I do not know but suggest you look at:

Your System details show you as using version 3.6.12 of Firefox, that is not the latest version, it would be normal practice to update to the latest version, which is why you are being offered the updates. See also [[Software Update Failed]]

I just upgraded to the iphone 5S and I can no longer sync to the AUTHORIZED computer. I keep getting a message that the computer is not authorized. So I click authorize, put my password in and get the message that this computer is now authorized.

After verifying that the computer is authorize, I hit sync and after a few minutes it I get the message that the iphone cannot be synced because the computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iphone. Why????

The most common cause for this issue would be media present that is purchased with another Apple ID. The article below will walk you through the process of verifying if that is the case or correcting the issue if not.

I am running OSX Lion 10.78.4 and the computer will no longer go into sleep mode when I close the cover. In system preferences I can no longer find the option that allows for this energy saving feature. What happened to this option and why is this no longer happening with the latest version of Lion?

No external monitors or devices attached. When you mention that this function only works when devices are attached that is true when you set up your preferences that way. Up until my upgrade to Lion the computer would always go into sleep mode when I closed the lid. There also used to be an option to check in system preferences that allowed you to choose this option. My question for the discussion is what happened to that option and how do you get the computer to sleep or at least the display to sleep when you close the lid as we have been able to do in the past. Thanks.
