The Consumer IR device on my HP HDX is not working, Help!!

My HP HDX is having a problem as of now, I can't log into my computer normally, i have to go in via "safe mode with networking", I checked my device manager and saw that the Consumer IR driver is not working and that appears to be the problem, but I need help to solve it. I have two questions:
1. Is it safe for me to delete the Consumer IR Driver and still be able to run my computer normally and not in safe mode? would it screw up my computer?
2. If not, where can I go to fix it and and maybe re-install it?
I appreciate anyone being able to help me out with this. Thanks!

I don't know if you already found an answer to your question but as I had the same problem and found a solution here it is.
You do not have a problem with your IR device and its driver is perfectly fine, what you have a problem with is a Microsoft Vista update published on the 26/08/09 and called KB973879.
To solve this issue go into your control pannel choose the uninstall program option and in it choose the show updates installed option, select the KB973879 and uninstall it. To prevent its reinstallation once uninstalled go into windows update show the available updates right click on said KB and choose to hide it, from there on it won't try to install itself anymore.

I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

Try doing a Parameter RAM reset - hold down command/option/p/r keys at start up and wait for three chimes before releasing the keys.
If the hardware has filed there's nothing anyone here can do to help you ...

The Audio playback device HDA Intel (ALC268 Analog) doesn't work.

Every time I login to KDE through KDM, the notification gives me this message: "The Audio playback device HDA Intel (ALC268 Analog) doesn't work. Falling back to default"
Everytime I try to play an audio file, the notification gives me the same message.
But everything else such as system sound, online video work.
What can I do to make it work?

I have the same problem under the same conditions the original poster described. However, under System Settings -> Multimedia -> Device Preference I don't have default as device listed. The devices I can pick are:
-Esound (ESD)
-HDA Intel (STAC92xx Analog)
-HDA Intel, NVIDIA HDMI (HDMI Audio Output)
-Jack Audio COnnection Kit.
I can also pick HDA Intel (NVIDIA HDMI) when I check 'Show advanced devices'
When I use Esound I have sound for a while, until after a random time it falls back to the underlying device, which makes sound disappear. When I use HDA Intel (STAC92xx Analog), it falls back immediately on logging in and the other choices do never fall back, but when I use them, I have no sound at all. After I loose sound when Esound falls back to another device, sometimes writing sudo /etc/rc.d/alsa restart gives sound back, but mostly I need to relog/restart the X-Server to get sound back.
Is my issue related to the original poster his problem? And how can I fix it?

When you synced with iTunes It would have tried to replace the music on the iPhone with what is on the computer. which is what happens when you sync with iTunes.
If the songs are purchased you can re-downloaded them Pretty easily. You mentioned that you still see the songs and that you could not play them. Do they have a Cloud symbol next to them? If so this means that you can download them but that they are not on the device.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

You are using the oci8 driver so your program is looking for the native mode Oracle Client software. Install the Oracle Client software or use the thin driver.

Follow these steps to log into your iCloud account on your computer and deactivate "Find my iPhone" on your device:
Remove an iOS device or Mac on which you can’t turn off Find My iPhone

There is no legitimate (Apple supported) way to downgrad an iOS on a device. Have you tried downloading/installing a new (free) app. That works for many users with that problem.

Anytime you change networking hardware, it is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle of your networking components.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

My DVR security sofware that I access remotely uses a "dvr .ocx" file....when I try it in Firefox , either the latest non beta (3.6.1.5) or the new beta version (4.0 rc) it will NOT work as it says the plugin is missing... it works in IE 8,but not IE9...

My machine is Top of the range (my Company builds them so it had better be :) )
Amd 1100t , 8gb ram , Windows 7 64 bit etc, etc...
The is not a hardware problem , but a software problem with FF...Any help would be appreciated as I hate using IE 8 for anything at all :( but I have to keep it on my machines just to run my remote security cameras at my Computer shop ???

As I own a Computer company I am fairly computer literate but cannot find a plugin that allows this to work in Firefox.... but I would have expected it to work in the new Firefox :(

This is not good Apple!!
