The correct way to upgrade a SAP
We are trying to upgrade an old system with :
SAP 4.6C
Oracle 9.2.0.4
HP-UX 11.23
to a new (test) system with
HP-UX 11.23
Oracle 10.2.0.2.
SAP ECC 6.0
The correct way seems to be performing an homogeneous system copy from old to new.
Now, the question is .....
Is it possible to perform an homogeneous system copy with different versions of Oracle ?
Is it necessary the Oracle versions are the same ?
Or .... There it exist a procedure to perform an homogeneous system copy to a higher version ?.
Performing directly the HSC from 9.2 to 10.2.will save us a lot of time.

Hi Abert,
The scenario what you want may be possible. Let me brief you about how it can be done if your source system is R/3 4.7.
The steps would be :
Export the OLD system in 4.7 Oracle 9.20 using SAPINST tool (Export database)
Install SAP 4.7 Using Export dvd created in first step (NO Backup - Restore)
install oracle the 10.2 instead of the 9.2
(At the end of this steps you will have your system with Oracle 10.2 database)
PREPARE
SAPup
So, in short you need to do system copy using SAPINST tool if you want to avoid Oracle upgrade steps.
Now, you need to find out whether you can use R3SETUP for doing system copy. If yes, you can go ahead with above steps.

Correct way to upgrade Final Cut Studio 2 to Final Cut Studio
I want to know what is the correct way to upgrade the Final Cut Studio 2 on my MacBook Pro to the new Final Cut Studio? I want to be able to keep LiveType seems to have been killed off in Final Cut Studio. Do I need to uninstall all products in Final Cut Studio 2, first or can install over?

SebastianThanks! This is very helpful. I would like to keep Live Type as well but my main concern was because I am thinking about buying a refurb Intel Mac Pro off ebay with FCS 2 already installed. I emailed the company and they do not have the licenses for the software because it came to them already on it. I was hoping that there would be a way that when I upgrade to the new FCS that it wouldn't ask me for those. Other forums said to erase FCS 2 before upgrading for some reason but that doesn't make sense to me. Are you having any problems with it after writing over your old FCS 2?
Anything else I should be worried about in buying this computer?!

Correct way to upgrade from LP 8 to 9 with all the extra content?
I know that Apple has moved around the default folders for Apple Loops and extra audio content with different versions of Logic. When upgrading from a full install of LP8 to LP9, what is the correct way to do that. I'm worried I may get duplicate Apple Loops etc.
Should I just run the installer and install all 9 discs to the default settings, or do I need to pay attention to which folders the extra audio content goes? I'm seeing a scenario where the Jam Packs from LP8 are in a different folder than the default for LP9 and so will get installed a second time.Thank you for your reply. So the jam Packs are identical to LP8? Then I can skip thoseI have a pretty good idea of where the actual files are located. So I should be able to figure it out.
How can I the make sure that every file on the disk is actually in the loop browser , and to avoid duplicates? Over the years as directories have been changed for GB and LP, it's been quite confusing, especially since I already had some Jam Packs and also Soundtrack Pro and corresponding Loops before they became part of LP and some other Loop packages. Is it really as easy as deleting everything in the Loop Browser and then dragging all the folders from the HD in there? -

The sample iViews are just samples for a particular case. The iView template allows you to use any application on the BusinessObjects system - including the viewing of content. What you are looking for is the creation process for WebI. So you have 2 options: you can use the KM integration and you can build a java application that offers the workflow you looking for and integrate it with the iView template
Depending on what method should be used, I'd like to know which settings to be focused on. For instance, if the Master Iview is to be used, should opendocument be used instead of reports? And what other customizations will have to be done in order to integrate a Webi-report instead of a Crystal-Report?
OpenDocument is for viewing reports. The Installation Guide outlines the integration of the iView template and the KM part.
What is the intended use for the BOBJ repositoy manager? Would that be the way to integrate the Info-view?
This is the integration into the KM repository which provides a richer functionality then just an iView.

What is the correct way to set up a new Mac
A friend of mine recently migrated from Windows and bought himself an iMac. He got the local Apple store to set up his iMac and migrate his data from his Windows to his iMac. I was recently helping him set up a few a additional things on his iMac and was supprised to see how the Apple store had set up the machine.
There was only one account set up on the iMac and all of the user data had been loaded into this admin account. Now I've only been a Mac user for about 5 years, but I was always taught create an admin account with no data on it and then set up a separate user account(s) which contain all the user data and these are used by the users to log in.
Now my question is who is right the Apple shop or me? I would e intertested to hear any experts views on the correct way to set up an OSX machine.Both of you. Either way is acceptable. However, for a single user machine there's really no need to have more than the admin account.

You must go in the labview option menu, you can select 'use the local
separator' in the front side submenu (LV6i).
If you use the "From Exponential/Fract/Eng" vi, you are able to select this
opton (with a boolean) without changing the labview parameters.

I purchased a macbook air about 5 months ago and lately i keep recieving a warning that the hard drive or disk is full and that I will need to move items to trash in order to free up space on it. I purchased a external hard drive 1 TB but I'm very new to mac and ios and unsure as to how I'm suppose to transfer my files (video, pics, music etc.) from my mac over to the external hard drive in the correct way so I won't end up deleting them permenately or screwing anything up with my mac as far as the applications and programs being able to run. Am I supposed to just copy to the external hard drive and then move to and empty the trash? That's pretty much all I could come up with, but then what if i need or want to access that file again at a later time. Also, I have an i Phone and i pad so with i cloud it automatically syncs all my purcheses and if i delete something from itunes on my mac it deletes from my ipad.
I'd appreciate any kind of input i think im just a little lost here. I have to say i love my Mac and wouldn't trade it for anything (except maybe a macbook pro w/more memory)... Is there something I'm missing???To free up hard drive space the best bet is to move data files that you don't need access to all the time. Likely candidates are music, video, and photos. Things like word processing and spreadsheet files can also be moved but they tend not to be very large and so don't free up much space. The problem with moving the above mentioned files is that iTunes and iPhoto need to know where the files are stored.
Here's an article explaining how to move the iTunes folder. You can move the iPhoto library using the Finder but there is a slight complication. Start iPhoto, open the Preferences and click on the Advanced tab. The first option is "Copy items to the iPhoto Library". If this option is checked, copy the iPhoto library to your external folder (drag it from the Pictures folder to your external drive) and then delete it from your Picture folder. If this option is not checked, it is a bit more complicated and we'll need to talk a bit. -

I have a working instance of a rich client calendar. I generated the view with the required fields (start, stop, provider, ...), put it into the App Module, and dragged it onto a JSF page to create a calendar.

The whole format thing has been introduced in 1.5. The tutorial also states it's been "updated to 1.5.".
That's all I've got to say for I don't know how you can format a PrintWriter, let alone a PrintStream, prior to 1.5. I'm not really sure there is any way. Any "legacy way", that is. There almost certainly are third-party API which achieve similar results. -
OBIEE 11G Calculation the Correct Way

My requirement is like this that I want to calculate value Gross Profit which is simple Total Revenue - Total Expense. Now I want this to act as a Hierarchy i.e Gross Profit should be drill able to Total Revenue followed by Total Expenses. For this I created a Accounts Dimension table since no Drill Down facility is available on Fact Table(Therefore I had to move my Accounts to Dimension table rather than Fact Table). Now the problem is that there is no minus based aggregation present in OBIEE BMM layer because of which my all other sum based aggregation work correctly except where there is a negative based aggregation required like in the case of Gross Profit. Kindly Suggest what is the correct way to approach this problem. I am working on OBIEE 11g in this case.

Abhishek KapoorFinancial reporting is difficult in BI because of the user preference of how to see signs on different accounts and requirements for adding/subtracting depending on the type of account.
A few ways to approach:
a. Use case statement to make total rev and total expense columns. Subtract to build a gross profit column. You can do this in the presentation services front end or the BMM.
b. If you have opposite natural signs for rev and exp, you can create an account hierarchy in the account table which will net out to gross profit. Ex:
Column 1 – account number
Column 2 – hierarchy level 1, ex Gross Profit
Column 3 – hierarchy level 2, ex Rev or exp
Column 4 – account name
Etc…
c. Remember you can always build your own drilldown using navigation links to a report instead of the built-in drilldown.

What is the best way to upgrade from 10.5 to 10.7
I am trying to figure out the best way to upgrade my MacBook Pro from 10.5.8 to the new Lion 10.7. From what I have heard so far, I need to get a copy of snow leopard first so I have the APP Store then download Lion. Has anyone heard of a bundled package to accomplish this?
Apple is currently only making Lion available for download. You'll have to accquire a copy of Snow Leopard first and upgrade to it. Once you are on Snow Leopard, update your Mac with all of the current updates, which will then give you the App Store. From the App Store you'll be able to download and install Lion. I strongly advise backing up your system first prior to the update.

Open Time Machine in Preferance, Click on options,
The only item showing on list is my HD.
Is that correct for every thing to be backed up or should I have other items showing.
Also should my HD be deleated from this list.

no that's wrong. this is TM exclusion list. you add items there that you DO NOT want to be backed up. so currently your whole hard drive is excluded. remove it from there if you want it to be backed up. the only thing that should be present on that list by default is the TM backup drive itself.
