The difference of procurement type

when assign material component to activity. can you tell me the difference between reservation for network, reservation wbs element and preq + res -wbs elem
thank you

Yongguo,
This will depend on the stock control used in the project defintion and the settings
done in the material master with regards to the Procurement type and the "individual/collective" requirements.
A reservation for network means that the system will create the reservation for unrestricted stock and not for any individual stock. Reservation for WBS element means that the reservation is created for individual project stock. PR+reservation for WBS element means that the system will create both, a PR and a reservation for project stock (not unrestricted)
Please check your settings in the MRP2 and MRP4 views of your material master, and the stock control set at project defintion level.
Hope this helps
Best regards
Martina

  • What is the difference between Condition Type PB00 and PBXX

    Hallow all,
Can anybody please explain, What is the Difference between Condition type PB00 and PBXX in Materials Management Pricing?
And also please explain control or Application of both on Price determination ??
    Thanks in Advance !!!!!

    Hi,
PB00 condition type is used for automatic pricing in PO
PBXX condition type is used for manual pricing in PO
In Pricing  access sequence  play a vital role . If you need pricing automatic in the PO, you have use of Access Sequences and Schema Group of Vendor. You can see the difference in both standard condition type PB00 and PBXX, where as PB00 is assigned to Access sequence(0002)but in case of PBXX no access sequense assigned.

  • What are the differences in file types?

what are the differences in file types?    HOW DO i CONVERT TXT TO A FILE TYPE THAT PLAYS MUSIC/VIDEO?

Every file on a computer is ultimately just a big collection of zeros and ones. Files with the .txt extension typically contain just text. If opened with a suitable program such as Notepad the text will be readable. Try to push the same file into a different application and you may get nonsense or crash the software. Well written software will attempt to validate the internal structure of the file it is given and reject anything it doesn't know how to handle. There are multiple audio file formats. Transcoding an audio file from one audio format to another is possible. Changing a text file into audio isn't possible unless it wasn't really a text file in the first place.

  • What is the difference between message type and element

    hi,
When we create a new variable in BPEL we get the option to create 'simple', 'message type', 'element'
I would like to know what is the difference between message type and element.
    thanks
    Yatan

A message is part of the service and is usually assigned to one of the operations in the wsdl. For example getPhoneNumer() operation may have an input message of personInput and output of phoneNum. These messages would have a type...maybe of string or decimal or a complex type with multiple values.
An element is typically a complex type that could be defined in an xsd file.
When you create a variable in the bpel, you can declare it as a message or a simple type or an element. As I understand it, the simple types are pre-defined in the schema namespace such as string, decimal, date, etc.
The elements are defined in the xsd files or wsdls and can be a combination of strings, dates, etc or other stuff as well.
The messages are defined in the wsdl as part of the input/output but they are typically assigned a type just like other variables you create.

  • What is the difference between  Process Type TRIGGER AND CHAIN

What is the difference between these two process types.  When I am looking process types, I want to provide information only about process chains and not individual steps of process chain. Looks like one can do using either.
Along the same line, I am looking  at  data from RSPCPROCESSLOG, no where this table has a column process chain id. So How od I find information about a process chain.
    Thanks a lot,

A "Chain Process" can be a a step in a Process Chain as well.    For Example: So you could have the following Process Chain:
    Process Chain Example
Step 1. TRIGGER (Execute Daily at 4am)
Step 2. DTP_LOAD Execute DSO Load
Step 3. DTP_LOAD Execute InfoCube Load
Step 4. CHAIN Execute Master Data Process Chain
I believe the "Master Chain" is called a "MetaChain" since it controls the start of another Process Chain.
    Hope that helps...

  • What are the difference between Activity types & SKFs

    Dear Friends
Can any body help me regarding, what are the main differences between Activity Types & Statistical Key Figures(SKFs).
    Thanks, in Advance

    Hi Prabhakar,
Both are used as tracing figures. The major difference is that Activity type has price on its own and its gets summed up at the time of allocation. The sum figures debited to the receiving cost object and credited to sending cost object. Activity type cannot stand alone.
But it is not the case with SKF. SKF are only used as tracing factors and do not have price unlike activity type.
    Example
In the case of activity allocation of Labour hours, the activity type of Labour with price shall be used.
In the case of statistical figure, take the example of Canteen expenses and its allocation between the Cost objects on the basis of head count of each cost object. :
Hope this answers to your query!

  • Whats the difference in install types as far as HDD space? (LEOPARD)

Does an "Upgrade" take up much more space on the HD than an "Archive and Install"? Does any body know how many GBs each one takes? And if I was to do a total format then "install" how much less space would that take?
    Thanks for your information guys!

An Archive and Install takes up the most disk space (because it archives items rather than replacing them). An Erase & Install takes up the least space, but migrating items from a backed up copy of the old drive afterwards (required if you don't want to lose everything!) will use a variable amount of space, depending on what you migrate from the old to the new drive. An Upgrade install is somewhere in the middle, more than an Erase & Install without migrating anything but smaller than an Archive and Install.
The actual number of GB involved depends on what install options you choose (like opting to install various printer & language support packages), the type of install (Update, A&I, etc.) & the hardware (PPC or Intel Mac), but plan on no less than about 4 GB, plus whatever temporary scratch space the installer will use during the install process.
Additionally, you should try to keep around no less than 10% of the drive's capacity free for use by the OS for its own temporary files & file system housekeeping chores once the install is complete. Some of this space will be reused from the old install if doing an Upgrade or A&I, but not from an E&I.
As you can see, there is no one definitive answer.

  • Trying to understand the difference in dvd types

I just purchased a samsung dvd recorder so I can record from my TV.
I tried recording something on DVD -R which is what my ibook reads.
The dvd recorder can play what I recorded but the ibook doesn't even acknowledge the dvd when I put it in the slot & I have to restart in order to get the dvd out.
Please excuse my lack of knowledge of this but what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

PS just bought a 15" MacBookPro, can't wait for it to arrive!

Jeff let me see if I can shed any light on your delima.
First not all DVD is the same, Software has a lot to do with your success.
Nero Software used by PC if not properly confiqured will not play on a Mac.
Roxio, Toast and Popcorn has 3 different settings PC, only...Mac, only...PC or Mac..
Many DVD recorders like you bought need to be directly connected to your Mac to copy succesfully, While others can copy .
There are several different ways to accomplish what you want. You will have to be careful when purchasing different pieces of Hardware.
Many require you to hook up Video and Audio Cable and play VHS or TV and record direct to your Mac.

  • Material Master Procurement Type

Can you tell me the difference between procurement type x vs f besides the obvious. What does using x get me if we dont produce the material in house. All of our masters are marked with X even though we buy the parts.
    Thanks!

    hi,
In that case system will generate the planned orders and partial qty for the PR's..
planned order may be req. because if need may rit become easy to make the production order any time...
if you use the for external procurement then system will not produre the planned orders and only PR's are generated and if case if req. to make the production order at any time then you can't go back..
so gng for the X keeps us at safer side
    Hope it helps..

  • Whats the difference between the Canvas types?

When i start the layout wizard and i choose to make a new carvas, there are several types of canvas available:
Content, Stacked, Vertical toolbar, Horizontal toolbar, Tab
What is the difference between these types? I have tried making different types, but they all seem the same to me.
    Cheers.

The content canvas (the default) occupies the entire Forms window it is assigned to, and is the primary canvas where data is displayed in your form.
A stacked canvas can be used to pop-up information temporarily, in front of the content canvas. You usually display a stacked canvas based on a button press or some other activity by the user. At some point it is dismissed, so the user can again see all of the content canvas. Stacked canvases can also be used for special situations, such as hiding and displaying a scrollbar.
A tabbed canvas is much like a content canvas, but it has multiple pages, and each page is accessed by clicking on the tab associated with that page. It is like a stacked canvas, in that it sits on top of a content canvas, but it usually remains visible all of the time.
The toolbar canvases are simply that -- canvases that hold the toolbar with action icons for the form.

  • Wrong procurement type showing in the material master

    Hi,
I am creating a material Procurement type is comming as E in the MRP2 view, To where it is comming?
I have checked the material type setting in the tcode OMS2 and it below are showing there:
    Ext. purchase orders   2
    Int. purchase orders   2
Hence it's allowed int. and ext. proc. then why in the material master procurement type is comming E not X.
    How can I change it?

Check to see if you have assigned an MRP Profile which has defaulted Procurement Type. If this is the case, you will have to remove the MRP Profile before you can change the entry. Or you can maintain the MRP Profile by deselecting "Write-protected in material maintenance" and selecting "Only default value in material maintenance" for Procurement Type. The Transaction is MMD2.

  • Procurement type u201CE (In-house production) u201D & u201CXu201D (Both procurement types)

    Hi SAP Gurus,
What is the Deference between Procurement type u201CE (In-house production) u201D & u201CXu201D (Both procurement types)
Cause after MRP run in Both cases I come across same options.
With This Procurement type we can get plan order as well a Purchase requisition & all other option then what is the difference between E & X ?
    Best Regards,
    Parag.

    Dear Parag,
This is flexibility given by SAP, suppose you have material which is produced in-house and procured from vendor also. In these cases the procurement type is kept X. The MRP will give planned order in case of X and you have liberty to create Production order and purchase requisition also.  This you can verify in MD04 for X procured material.

  • Difference between Material type and Item category

What is the difference between Material type and Item category?
We can differentiate different kind of materails according to material type then why do we have Item category which is also more or less on the same lines.
Both can be considered as a terminology in SAP to group similar kind of materials.
Please let me know the exact difference between the two?

    Dear Christino
We can list out so many differences.
When you create a material master record, the material type you choose determines:
    - Whether the material is intended for a specific purpose, for example, as a configurable material or process material
    - Whether the material number can be assigned internally or externally
    - The number range from which the material number is taken
    - Which screens appear and in what sequence
    - Which departmental data you may enter
    - What procurement type the material has; that is, whether it is manufactured in-house or procured externally, or both
Together with the plant, the material type determines the material's inventory management requirement; that is:
    - Whether changes in quantity are updated in the material master record
    - Whether changes in value are also updated in the stock accounts in financial accounting
In addition, the accounts affected by a material entering or leaving the warehouse depend on the material type.
-Most importantly, Users can be authorized to create materials of specific material types but not based on item category
    - Item category will define whether the material should be valuated for stock or it should be considered as non-stock
    - Pricing is carried out based on Item Category and not based on Material type

  • Difference b/w DATA TYPE and DATA OBJECT & differences b/w TYPE and LIKE

    hai
can any one say the differences between Data type and Data Object.
And also differences between TYPE and LIKE
    thanks
    Gani

    hi,
    _Data Types and Data Objects_
Programs work with local program data – that is, with byte sequences in the working memory. Byte sequences that belong together are called fields and are characterized by a length, an identity (name), and – as a further attribute – by a data type. All programming languages have a concept that describes how the contents of a field are interpreted according to the data type.
In the ABAP type concept, fields are called data objects. Each data object is thus an instance of an abstract data type. There are separate name spaces for data objects and data types. This means that a name can be the name of a data object as well as the name of a data type simultaneously.
    Data Types
As well as occurring as attributes of a data object, data types can also be defined independently. You can then use them later on in conjunction with a data object. The definition of a user-defined data type is based on a set of predefined elementary data types. You can define data types either locally in the declaration part of a program using the TYPESstatement) or globally in the ABAP Dictionary. You can use your own data types to declare data objects or to check the types of parameters in generic operations.
All programming languages distinguish between various types of data with various uses, such as ….. type data for storing or displaying values and numerical data for calculations. The attributes in question are described using data types. You can define, for example, how data is stored in the repository, and how the ABAP statements work with the data.
Data types can be divided into elementary, reference, and complex types.
    a. Elementary Types
These are data types of fixed or variable length that are not made up of other types.
The difference between variable length data types and fixed length data types is that the length and the memory space required by data objects of variable length data types can change dynamically during runtime, and that these data types cannot be defined irreversibly while the data object is being declared.
Predefined and User-Defined Elementary Data Types
You can also define your own elementary data types in ABAP using the TYPES statement. You base these on the predefined data types. This determines all of the technical attributes of the new data type. For example, you could define a data type P_2 with two decimal places, based on the predefined data type P. You could then use this new type in your data declarations.
    b.  Reference Types
Reference types are deep data types that describe reference variables, that is, data objects that contain references. A reference variable can be defined as a component of a complex data object such as a structure or internal table as well as a single field.
    c. Complex Data Types
Complex data types are made up of other data types. A distinction is made here between structured types and table types.
    Data Objects
Data objects are the physical units with which ABAP statements work at runtime. The contents of a data object occupy memory space in the program. ABAP statements access these contents by addressing the name of the data object and interpret them according to the data type.. For example, statements can write the contents of data objects in lists or in the database, they can pass them to and receive them from routines, they can change them by assigning new values, and they can compare them in logical expressions.
Each ABAP data object has a set of technical attributes, which are fully defined at all times when an ABAP program is running (field length, number of decimal places, and data type). You declare data objects either statically in the declaration part of an ABAP program (the most important statement for this is DATA), or dynamically at runtime (for example, when you call procedures). As well as fields in the memory area of the program, the program also treats literals like data objects.
A data object is a part of the repository whose content can be addressed and interpreted by the program. All data objects must be declared in the ABAP program and are not persistent, meaning that they only exist while the program is being executed. Before you can process persistent data (such as data from a database table or from a sequential file), you must read it into data objects first. Conversely, if you want to retain the contents of a data object beyond the end of the program, you must save it in a persistent form.
    Declaring Data Objects
Apart from the interface parameters of procedures, you declare all of the data objects in an ABAP program or procedure in its declaration part. These declarative statements establish the data type of the object, along with any missing technical attributes. This takes place before the program is actually executed. The technical attributes can then be queried while the program is running.
The interface parameters of procedures are generated as local data objects, but only when the procedure is actually called. You can define the technical attributes of the interface parameters in the procedure itself. If you do not, they adopt the attributes of the parameters from which they receive their values.
ABAP contains the following kinds of data objects:
    a.  Literals
Literals are not created by declarative statements. Instead, they exist in the program source code. Like all data objects, they have fixed technical attributes (field length, number of decimal places, data type), but no name. They are therefore referred to as unnamed data objects.
    b.  Named Data Objects
Data objects that have a name that you can use to address the ABAP program are known as named objects. These can be objects of various types, including text symbols, variables and constants.
Text symbols are pointers to texts in the text pool of the ABAP program. When the program starts, the corresponding data objects are generated from the texts stored in the text pool. They can be addressed using the name of the text symbol.
Variables are data objects whose contents can be changed using ABAP statements. You declare variables using the DATA, CLASS-DATA, STATICS, PARAMETERS, SELECT-OPTIONS, and RANGESstatements.
Constants are data objects whose contents cannot be changed. You declare constants using the CONSTANTSstatement.
    c.  Anonymous Data  Objects
Data objects that cannot be addressed using a name are known as anonymous data objects. They are created using the CREATE DATAstatement and can be addressed using reference variables.
    d.  System-Defined Data Objects
System-defined data objects do not have to be declared explicitly - they are always available at runtime.
    e.  Interface Work Areas
Interface work areas are special variables that serve as interfaces between programs, screens, and logical databases. You declare interface work areas using the TABLES and NODESstatements.
What is the difference between Type and Like?
    Answer1:
TYPE, you assign datatype directly to the data object while declaring.
LIKE,you assign the datatype of another object to the declaring data object. The datatype is referenced indirectly.
    Answer2:
Type is a keyword used to refer to a data type whereas Like is a keyword used to copy the existing properties of already existing data object.
    Answer3:
type refers the existing data type
like refers the existing data object
    reward if useful
