Short answer:
Click Hide Song(s), it is what you wanted to do...
Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

You posted in the OS 9 & below forum. What OS X version are you using? What model Canon printer? Canon printers have a test print capability (open the Printer Utility). What happens when you do a test print? Are all the printer cartridges in their proper location? Sometimes when you print "black", the printer uses a mixture of the colors to get "black". In the Printer Utility, check the levels of the other cartridges. There may be one color that is clogged.

Running 3.6.12 on Windows XP in my brand-new HP 6000 Pro, and when I double-click the gold star to bookmark a site, 5 of my 80-odd folders appear in the drop-down under Bookmarks Menu. But then, when I click "Choose", no list of current bookmarks appears, so I have to bookmark every time under "Unsorted", then drag each bookmark to its correct folder. What am I doing wrong? I use Firefox on my other 2 systems, and every folder appears on the drop-down, just like it should.
I don't use Xmarks, so I don't know whether that is a factor here...
If you use Ctrl+d on a bookmarked page, does the Edit Bookmark dialog appear?
Firefox doesn't have a convenient way to determine the location of a bookmark. One workaround is to use the extension [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/show-parent-folder/ Show Parent Folder] to add a column in the Library dialog showing the location of a bookmark. Then when you use the search function or Recently Bookmarked query, you should be able to discover the location.
The extension shows just the folder name by default. If that isn't unique enough, you can change a setting for the extension so it shows the full path down to that folder. To set this, open the Add-ons page, Extensions category, and use the Options button for Show Parent Folder. -

I just bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago and have noticed that when I go to start it up, it takes longer to power up than when I first bought it. Does anyone know why this may be and of a fix for it?
Hi. It could be that the more you pile on the HD, the longer it will take to boot. When I first bought my MBP, it took maybe 30 seconds. But as I began putting more content on the HD, it seemed to take a bit longer to boot. You may also want to consider putting your MBP in sleep mode. That's what I do with mine and it doesn't hurt at all as far as I can tell.

OK so I have deactivated and uninstall the version off the old laptop, then reinstalled the version on the new laptop. When you go to open a document it says it wants to do an upgrade check for some reason, anyone know why this is? It will not take the serial number after that and it doesn't show the version we have in the drop down list.

What operating system are you running on the new laptop? If it's a current OS, then it may be incompatible with Acrobat 9. Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-acrobat-family-prod ucts.html.
It could also be that you're trying to install an upgrade, and the installer is looking for the serial number for the previous version (is the previous version listed in the drop-down list?).

A message pops up saying 'Word cannot open this document. The document might be in use, the document might not be a valid Word document, or the file name might contain invalid characters (for example, \/).' The documents are certainly not open, and I don't know why they would be invalid. Please help!

Yes, you are correct: you would need to choose a Skype Number nearest where you ultimately wished to have your Skype Number located. Ultimately, the number would be best situated so that those who call it the most would not incur toll charges; however, that said, Skype Numbers are not available absolutely everywhere for several legitimate reasons.

when i queue a file for export the encoder is changing my settings to ACC Audio & my settings are not in the drop down. Help
There's something else going on. When you search, the search box searches the Spotlight database that it created when indexing. It doesn't search the computer again. I suspect a hosed index. System Preferences->Spotlight->Privacy->delete all volumes and readd them back in. That should reindex the computer and all attached HDs. BTW, by default there are many places Spotlight doesn't return information from, mainly the various Library folders and the System folder. If you want to find everything, do this:
Click on the Desktop, CMD+F, click on Kind button, select Other, drill down to File invisible, check it, continue down to System files, check it, and click OK. Now, click on + button, click on the left-hand item and select System files and select are included, click on the plus button, click on the left-hand item and select File visibility and select visible or invisible, select File Name, save the search, drag its icon to the Dock, and use to search your entire Mac—currently starts with By Name, but Contents is available. I use this instead of CMD+F or CMD+spacebar for all searches. -

When searching for a song title, an artist etc in Itunes 12 it shows the results via a tiny consolidated drop down menu, however in previous version of Itunes search results would be displayed in the main playlist view. I seriously dislike the search drop down view because A) it only shows limited results B) It shows artwork C) It is confusing when trying to search your playlist when you are trying to organize your library.
If anyone knows a way to change the search view preference please let me know how or advise me on how to suggest to Apple that they change it back or give people the option to choose which search result view they would like to use.
Thanks.If you disable the Search Entire Library option (available in the dropdown to the left of the search box) iTunes 12 will not show the search results in a dropdown but will immediately go to a filtered version of your current view. With the Search Entire Library option enabled, you can still get to this filtered view by clicking on the first entry in the drop down, which will say "Show <search string> in Library" or "Show <search string> in <playlist>" depending on where you start the search from.
There are some inconsistencies in the search behavior, most notably that where you have the Search Entire Library option enabled and search within a playlist the dropdown will show all matches in you complete library (whether in your playlist or not), whereas the first entry in the dropdown just takes you to the filtered playlist view.

Can anyone help me figure out why the setting in System Preferences and CDs & DVDs will always revert to Ignore when I set the drop-down menu to When you insert a music CD, to Open ITunes? I've tried iTunes Help and it told me exactly what I have been doing. I've even tried downloading iTunes again, to no avail. If anyone has had the same problem, please let me know.
