The ebay response to entering a bid cause Firefox to crash

When bid is made on ebay - ebay passes back a confirmation window. After clicking Accept firefox crashes. The submission to ebay completes - so it's the ebay response that is crashing firefox.

What the **** is wrong with Firefox? It crashes every time I try and buy something on eBay? It just happened twice tonight. I checked my programs for the "highlighter" that people say to remove but I do not have a highlighter so I don't know what they are talking about. Help!

  • Opening website "this american life" in firefox 4.0.1 causes firefox to crash, but the same site opens and streams radio shows just fine in IE. Suggestions?

I am trying to stream radio shows through the website for This American Life. As soon as I open the site and click on a link, I get the message about an unresponsive script. The next click to tell it to continue or ignore causes Firefox to crash -- the fade to white/not responding thing. The same site runs just fine on IE.

  • Google Reader comments cause Firefox to crash.

Clicking the link to add a comment to a Google Reader entry causes Firefox to crash unexpectedly. I've only had this problem since the 3.6.12 update. So far as I can tell, I don't have any problematic add-ons, and my browser is up to date.

This can be problem with one of the fonts that is used on that page and that is corrupted.
You can use the System File Checker to check if font files are missing or corrupted.

  • Try uninstalling the 3ivx!!!!! caused library to crash, videos not to play

whoever posted this idea, don't know where I even saw it now, thank you big time!!!
This caused everything to crash repeatedly!
Uninstalling 3ivx allowed by managed library on the external drive to finally load without crashing, to play videos recognizing format like it used to...finally I see a light at the end of the tunnel!!!

I only realized it because in system preference window I had perian and flip4mac and "3ivx mpeg-4" listed.  I also had an icon somewhere for "uninstall 3ivx".
My library was a managed library on an external drive, I understand all the network referenced guys are hating life.  My videos were visible but the thumbnails were randomly pixelated, aperture crashed continuously and videos would show up with just blank white screens.
I was able to open the library with snow leopard and it ran fine so it is a lion issue with some glitch of video format problems.  I spent hours and a trip to the genius bar who told me to wait for software update.  I uninstalled 3ivx and presto!
I would spotlight "3ivx" and see what other codecs or video programs or converters you may have.  Also, there is a documented apple problem of issues with final cut express causing aperture to quit or crash.  Doesn't sound like your issue but thought I'd throw it out there in case.
I don't have much experience with referenced network libraries, which from the sound of it, I am glad!
let me know if you find anything interesting!

  • HTML5 media such as HTML5-enabled YouTube and the Ingress Intel page causes Firefox to crash my nVidia driver.

I've began to notice that HTML5 media causes strange issues with my graphics drivers. Watching HTML5 videos on YouTube or browsing the Ingress Intel page causes Firefox to lock up after a period of a few minutes, though I can still hear audio and use keybindings, I'm not able to move my mouse onto the desktop that Firefox is currently on (I use two monitors). I'm forced to reboot my PC to resolve the error.
This appears in the event viewer when the issue occurs.
"The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
    \Device\Video5
    !06d7(2640)"
I've tried resetting Firefox, reinstalling video drivers, etc. It only happens with HTML5, not Flash.

    Yep, that fixed it.

  • Latest Google Maps Causes Firefox to Crash 100% of the time.

Here is the crash report. This always happens. Please help provide assistance.
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/08f67257-ceac-464b-b519-94c9c2140326
    dmp

I produced some steps that got FireFox to crash again at Google Maps. This had a different error, below.
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/20963f7a-2973-478f-a85c-8bec82140326
Looking at this one, it said that it was fixed by a known bug:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=943511
That bug says that it is resolved in version 29. I was running version 27. I manually checked for updates (for some reason it did not prompt me?), downloaded and installed version 28. Version 29 is not available. Version 28 crashed at Google Maps as well, though it took a little longer. Version 28's crash is available here:
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/79ded35b-301d-4129-8ff6-c73352140326
    Completely different error.
I could not get it to crash in safe mode. It slowed down to a snails pace, like it often does right before it crashes, but it stayed up. I rebooted to full mode, updated some plugins and disabled others. Restarted, and went back into Google Maps. It did a lot better than it did earlier in the day, but it did eventually crash. The error is below.
    https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/57a88a26-ae9d-4508-9d33-ae6bd2140326
Yet another crash, but all of these happen when I go to Google Maps. I'd love to get support, but I don't think I'll be spending any more hours on this. I'll either stop using Google Maps or stop using Firefox if this doesn't go away very soon.

  • Clicking on Add-ons causes firefox to crash?

New Linux Mint 17 install yesterday. Problem with updates and now Firefox is broken. At first it wouldn't open at all. Did a purge of Firefox and Mozilla then reinstalled Firefox via terminal. Now it will open but when I go to "Add-ons" it just crashes and closes like the "Add-ons" part is not even there?
Uninstalled Firefox again then reinstalled via Synaptic but it's still doing the same thing
Please make suggestions simple as I'm not very good with the command line.
    Thanks,

Can you give me your crash reports?

  • Adobe Flash XI repeatedly causes Firefox to crash

I'm running Firefox 20.0.1 on Windows 7.  Flash XI frequently, but not always or consistently, causes a particular website to crash and sometimes causes Firefox to stop responding.  Sometimes when Firefox stops responding I have to use the Task Manager to shut it down; other times it starts responding after a few seconds.  The website is an important one I visit daily so there may be others I'm not aware of.  The problem began two or three months ago (I always install updates).  I can't force t to happen.  When it happens I can get one of two prompts: "A script on this page... or A movie on this page... is causing Flash to run showly" followed by the options of waiting or stopping the script.  Any suggestions?

Install Flash Player in Safe Mode.
    Shut down the computer.
Press the power button. Immediately after you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be pressed as soon as possible after startup, but not before the startup sound.
Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo on the screen. Startup will take longer than usual.
Login to your account. Launch Safari.
Enter this  address in the Safari address bar manually. Click Enter.
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Follow the prompts. Install Flash Player.
Once done, quit Safari and restart the computer from  in the menu bar.

I disabled extensions per Firefox instructions and discovered that 'firefox gui element capture plug in 1.0' is the one causing my problems. Problems being Firefox either crashes or refuses to open an additional window, and then crashes.

I am not sure why this started happening, however please update to version 32.0.3 when its available.

  • Is Java 10.15.2.3 causing Firefox to crash?

Firefox keeps crashing when trying to open a Java applet. We have uninstalled and re-installed Java, tried older versions of java, uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, tried older version of Firefox, updated plug-ins, enables and disabled different plug-ins, and tried every other troubleshooting suggestion we could find, but we have yet to be able to open a Java applet without Firefox crashing. This problem is only with Firefox, it does not happen with Chrome or IE.

  • What is it about Safeeyes internet filter that is causing Firefox to crash whenever I try to open it?

I recently got the Safeeyes internet filter for my PC. I have windows XP. Now, whenever I try to open Firefox, it crashes. Is there any way I can use the filter with Firefox? I uninstalled the filter and now Firefox is working.

I talked to several techs at Safe Eyes and they couldn't help me. Said their programmers were working on it. I uninstalled Safe Eyes yesterday and can now use Firefox some, but it is still crashing--just not as much.
My crash signature: mozalloc_abort(char const* const) | NS_DebugBreak_P | Initialize()
