If yu are updating apps, that tends to indicate that you have apps that were purchased with that account.

I tracked down the problem with the download and installation, my windows 7 was missing a file and after reinstalling windows everything worked out. The first 32 bit program in their list was used. I hope this can help others.

Automatic Change of Apple Id to the email linked with the ID

recently i tried to log into my apple id on itunes to get few apps. However, to my surprise, i found that my apple id which was earlier like an email id, has been changed to the email linked with it and i am not able to download any updates for the apps purchased. As on my apps, the owner is listed with my previous id and now the id is different from the original. Please suggest.

No. As noted in the email Apple sent you and the support article you came here from, it is an additional email address - nothing more. There is no mention of AppleIDs.

Where is the email link in Firefox ?

A person helped me change my browser from Internet Explorer 7 to FireFox. Now I cannot find the email link on FireFox. I right click in the upper toolbar & hit customize. Their is no email. When I hit customize, the icons shrink & I can see more icons on the upper toolbar. When I cancel out of customize, I can only see 2 of the icons & I cannot bring up any others. Does Firefox not use email or does it have to be G mail, ect. ? My email is [email protected]

You can find "Email Link" in the Firefox menu and in the File menu if the menu bar is visible.

My bad if I am posting this is the wrong section, I have never had to use the BB forums.
I went to print out my certificate last weekend and was unable to log on. I tried to reset my password but got a message
"The email address and password entered are not in our records. Please check for accuracy and try again. If you are not a registered user, please create an account. If you think there is an issue with your account, please contact Customer Care at 888-BESTBUY (888-237-8289).
At first I thought it was a glitch over the weekend so I waited. I still cannot log onto my account. I just made this account so I can get some help.
Does anyone know of a solution where I won't have to call the hotline?

Since the last iTunes update my iPod will not connect to iTunes. My computer recognizes it but as soon as I launch iTunes I get the error message: An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly. I have done ALL troubleshooting steps and it still gives me the error...... this only happend since I updated iTunes.

That's a problem that all users of a second-hand Mac released after the OS X Lion launch have. OS X, iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand are registered to the Apple ID the first owner used to register the computer, so you can't use them legally without repurchasing them. Furthermore, there's a bigger problem: you have to get iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand on a DVD, because the App Store makes impossible to purchase these applications on a second-hand Mac.
Nothing will happen if they are already installed, but you won't be able to reinstall and update them, so I recommend you to delete them and buy iLife '11 on a DVD to install the applications from there. Also, take note that you can't also reinstall OS X, so if OS X gets damaged, you will have to take your computer to an Apple Store.
Open  > About this Mac, and tell us the OS X version you have. If you are using OS X Lion, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion with your Apple ID, so then you will be able to reinstall OS X

The software for communicating with ipod is not installed correctly..

Everything used to work fine on my laptop. I'm fairly sure it was after I had uninstalled Zune crap from my laptop when my iTunes started messing up and saying "the software for communicating with ipod is not installed correctly".
I've searched the whole internet front to back about this error and most things I find are from 2005'ish. I've tried changing the registry permissions, reinstalling itunes, clearing out everything that has to do with itunes, doing all the msconfig things, manually starting the ipodservice.exe.
I still cannot figure it out and I've had this error for like 3 months. Only thing that I notice that MIGHT be odd is that I'll have ipodservice.exe running (from System) and when I open iTunes another ipodservice.exe will open (from my username) and then close after a few seconds and then I plug my ipod up and bam, the error from above comes up. Anyone have any clue? Like I said everything worked fine at one point!

Another thing is that iPod Touch shows up fine...I've tried every other ipod from older 4gig Nanos to 120gb Classics and none of them work..this is really annoying!

The message "the software for communicating with ipod is not installed properly keeps on showing up no matter what I do.
I have removed the program several times and reinstalled it several times. I have updated my windows. I have tried just about evertying. I have wasted several hours on this ipod, I am about to return it and be over with it..
I have even went to the homesite to download the updates and the newest version of ipod manager.
My ipod charges from the USB port but I think it is recognising it as a seperate drive.
I dont know what else to do.
