The error "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit"
I have gotten the RIKLA from Adobe. And I use the example code BasicPlugin(you can download it from Adobe wetsite) as my plug_in, then, I made the api file according to the steps in document in the "Creating an Adobe Reader Plug_in" section of the "Developping Plug_ins and Applications". As last,I copy the api file to plug_ins folder, open Adobe Reader 8. I saw under the Tool memu there is a new menu named Acrobat sdk so that I think the api file is loaded successfully by Acrobat reader. But an error appears, it is "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit". Can someone tell me why?Thank you.

I followed your instructions
"You can find these in the "plug-ins" folder. [C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\plug_ins]"
I finally found my culprit, I deleted one file folder at a time, then restored them from my Recycle Bin.
I finally found my culprit, in the folder “Babylon” the file “BabylonRPI" was the main culprit.
I deleted the whole Babylon file folder, and havent had the error "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit" ever since.
Thank you very much kid, you kept it simple, I am not a Techie either.

Using Adobe 11 reader, now comes up with an error, once file is opened. 'Invalid plugin detected, Adobe reader will quit. Closes the program so cannot view PDF files. Running windows 7. I have uninstalled and re-installed Adobe still the same. HELP
Sounds like something has been added into the Reader folder. I would recommend uninstalling, running http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, removing any left over parts of the Reader folder (this might have been the problem), reboot, and reinstall. Hopefully that solves the problem. For future question about Reader, you should consider asking in the Reader forum, this is not it.

Adobe Reader 8 を手動でアンインストールする方法(Windows) -
This is the second time this has happen.
My system consists of the following:
PC running Windows 7 w/64bit
When I try to open a .pdf Iget a pop-up within 10 seconds say Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.
I paid the $39.00 from tech support to get this fixed in Aug. 2011 and now it's back.
I have gone through all the Adobe hoops and nothing has worked.Hi,
Do you have any 3rd party plugin installed for Adobe Reader? If not, close all running instances of Adobe Reader and delete the entire folder at: C:\program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins.
Now goto Control Panel > Programs and Features. Locate the entry for Adobe Reader X and chose to repair the installation.
If you do have a 3rd party plugin installed, try uninstalling them and see if the issue is related to the same. If it works, do let me know which plugins were causing the issue so that I can have a look.
Hopefully, this should fix things.
Thanks

Adobe Reader Plug-in shows error 'Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.'
I followed all the steps provided in the development guide. Still it shows this error. Please provide any help!
No Luck
We received the 'RIKLA-DigCert.rc' file along with 'T&C of Adobe' file. I followed the following steps as provided by Adobe's Developer's guide:
After receiving the digital certificate, enable the plug-in for Adobe Reader, by performing the following tasks:
1.Make a copy of dummy.rc and put it in your project directory.
2.Open your plug-in project in Visual Studio. Make sure you are in Resource View.
Adobe Acrobat SDK Creating an Adobe Reader Plug-In
Developing Plug-ins and Applications Creating resource files on the UNIX platform 248
3.Open dummy.rc from your project directory. Copy the API_ENCRYPTED_DIGEST data segment (a dummy encrypted digest) to the resource portion of your plug-in.
4.Open the digital certificate file returned to you by Adobe. Copy the API_DIGITAL_CERTIFICATE data segment (your digital certificate) to the resource portion of your plug-in.
5.Rebuild your plug-in. The plug-in will be created with the correct API_DIGITAL_CERTIFICATE data segment and a dummy API_ENCRYPTED_DIGEST data segment, which will be replaced with real data in the next steps.
But the problem is, when I open ''RIKLA-DigCert.rc' file, I got only '
API_DIGITAL_CERTIFICATE' inside but no'API_ENCRYPTED_DIGEST' as shown in Step-3. How do I get that? Also, we have already created Acrobat Plugin file which has got our project resource file (.rc). How do I use the same plugin for Adobe Reader as well? Is there any step missing? please provide any help as this is stopping our progress even after getting the License. Thanks in advance! -
Invalid Plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.
Hi,
I have a valid Reader Integration key. The problem is that the above message appears regardless what I am doing.
Can anyone from adobe answers what the message means?
Under the preferences I unchecked "Use only certified plugins".
I have integrated a window in the plugin. While the messagebox is displayed, I can send a message to my window and therefore I see that the plugIn is loaded.
I hope someone can help.
Regards
ManfredCertified plugins are NOT the same as reader plugins. Certified plugins only come from Adobe and exist for both Reader and Acrobat. Reader plugins work in Reader, while standard plugins do not.
I would check that you are properly adding the key to the plugin - that's usally what the message means. -
Hi there. My Principal has a Apple Mac running OSX 10.5.3. Whenever she tries to use Reader with a document, it opens for about 3 seconds and quits. The message she gets is "Adobe Reader unexpectedly quit"
The error report is shown below.
I've tried re-installing Adobe reader and I get the same problem. I'd really appreciate any advice anyone has to offer. By the way the error report shown below is not the full thing. I've only included the first 50 lines or so
Thanks and cheers

Hi,
My company submitted a RIKLA application and it has been approved. I've taken the received certificate file and combined with the keypair file I generated, have executed SignPlugin.exe and it successfully signs my plugin. However, I still get the "Invalid plugin detected." error after about 3 seconds in Adobe Reader X. I have no other plugins being loaded.
I'ved used the BasicPlugin project file as a basis for my plugin's project file and tweaked it for a Release build. I've tested the plugin, and all logic is functional. (Though I have to hurry and click my plugin menu items/toolbar buttons as Reader quits within 3 seconds as mentioned above.)
My AcroDspOptions.rsp file looks like:
/D ACRO_SDK_LEVEL=0x000A0000
/D PDMETADATA_HFT=1
/D PLUGIN=1
/D READER_PLUGIN
/I "."
/I "Headers\API"
/I "Headers\SDK"
/D _CRT_SECURE_NO_DEPRECATE
The paths are all correct.
If you need to see what my project file looks like or any further details, let me know.
I'm trying to get this plugin out the door and this is the last thing stopping me.
Thanks, IsaacSince this involves the RIKLA, you should address this to your RIKLA

Adobe Reader will not save or show the Save dialog
Hello, we use adobe reader a lot where I work, mostly with filling out pre-made "Form" type PDF's and saving them in customer folders on the server, as of last friday my adobe reader will not allow me to save pdf's, I have attempted to edit and save, edit and save-as, I tried simply saving as without making any edits. I also tried to open a PDF online (specifically http://www.ncu.edu.tw/~ncu25352/Uploads/201312311030531151830864.pdf ), tested that PDF on another PC and it would allow me to save it.
I uninstalled Adobe reader 11 and reinstalled from the website ( get.adobe.com/reader ), I then uninstalled anything on the pc that relates to PDF's that I could find (which was just reader and a dictionary add-in for reader 9) and attempted to reinstall without any change in the problem.
To recap, PDF's will not save, and when I click save-as no save dialog pops up, I cannot save via the IE add-in either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated by both my boss and myself! You mention IE, so I assume that you are on Windows.
How are you trying to save that PDF, using the IE menu bar File Save as, or the floating toolbar in the Adobe Reader plugin? -
please help I downloaded Digital Editions to use e-book and when I got to open I get an error message
It says file could not be opened because it was either not a supported type or it was damaged. I have already had the file resent and in talking to the American Medical Association (purchased from their site) it appears when I go to open the file it is in Adobe Reader and I do not see an option to move it to Adobe Digital Editions,

Adobe Reader will not center the printable area on the page
Hi there,
I have posted a few times about this issue already but have still not gotten an answer so I'm trying again. Adobe Reader will not center PDF files on the page if the printable area is less than 8.5" X 11". I make sewing patterns for a living and have always drafted them on 7.5" X 10" artboards (printable areas)....the art boards are centered on the page when they are drafted. Up until a few months ago there has never been an issue for me or my customers to print the patterns in either landscape, portrait (depending on the particuar PDF's orientation) or autoportrait/landscape orientation. Then about 2 or so months ago I started getting complaints about the top left hand side of the page getting cut off. When I tried printing one of the PDF's myself that was drafted in landscape orientation, and I printed it in "landscape" orientation, the top left side of the pdf did indeed get cut off. When I printed in autoportrait/landscape orientation the pdf printed fine, and for many of my customers this seems to fix the problem. But for many of them it doesn't fix the problem and the pdf still prints with part of it getting cut off regardless of which box is checked for orientation. I've found that if I go to the "pages to print" box and click "other options" then select "current view" this often solves the problem...but then the user does not seem to be able to select which pages to print. This is becoming a major problem for my business (lots of complaints) and would really like to know if anyone has looked at this issue and if the problem will be solved anytime soon. It is not just me but many of my colleagues and 100's of customers. Help! Thank you:)iMac G4, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

How to edit width and spacing of bars in Numbers?
