The estimated project size is larger than the target media chosen

I am at a loss for trying to author a project using Adobe Encore.  I first tried to author the project using version CS2.  When attempting to export I received the following message:
"The estimated project size is larger than the target media chosen.  While this is an estimate, the project may fail to build."
I have authored hundereds of projects in the past, but have never received that message before.  I first thought that the problem was with the version of Encore I was using, but I received the exact same error when trying to author the project with Encore CS5.
The project itself has one menu, a motion menu, and one video file.  The video file last 152 minutes, and I was attempting to export that to a dual layer DVD.  I have since tried exporting the file using Adobe Premier CS5.5 using a variety of settings.  I am trying to export it to a DVD-2 file, with the match soure attributes being set to the highest setting.  The setting on the main concept MPEG encoder is set to 5. I have tried exporting the file using both constant and varaible bit rates.
When I recently exported the file using a contant bit rate of 6.5, I still had 650.4 MB remaining on my Encore project.  I still received the same error about the project size, and so I am thinking that something else is wrong.
I have even exported the video file as an uncompressed AVI file, and then tried encoding it again using both Adobe Premier CS5.5 and the Adobe Encoder.  I still get the same error message about file size.
Any help and/or suggestions about how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Using the Imgburn product worked! It also helped me figure out what the real problem was...
As it turns out, some single-layer DVDs had been mixed in with my dual-layer DVDs. I feel very foolish about this.  All of my discs are printable, and so there is no indication written as far as what their capacity is on them.
Encore can be a bit vague in identifying a problem such as this. For example, I can set the settings to plan for a dual-layer disc, and it will display a graphical status indicator with that capacity in mind. When I saw the original file message error I honestly believed that there was a problem with the encoded file instead of the type of disc itself.
Imgburn instantly displayed the discrepancy in the type of disc I had loaded and the needed capacity for the type of project that I was trying to create.
Thanks again for your help!

  • ORA-13044: the specified tile size is smaller than the tolerance

    Hi,
    I get the oracle error ORA-13044: the specified tile size is smaller than the tolerance when I do the following point cloud clip:
    8 sdo_geometry(2003,29903, null,
    9 mdsys.sdo_elem_info_array(1,1003,3),
    10 mdsys.sdo_ordinate_array(316504,316510,234084,234090)),
    However the bounds of my point cloud are
    316500 to 316511 and 234080 to 234092 and my tolerance during point cloud creation is set to 0.000015 (I have alterated this value before to make it smaller but nothing seems fit).
    Where do I set the "tile size"?
    The set consists of 100 points and blk_capacity is set to 50.
    Any help is really greatly appreciated.

    Hi BKazar,
    thanks for responding.
    Yes, I tried out all sorts of things and swapped the numbers to see if that would fix the issue. It did not.
    I have found out now though what the issue was. When I loaded the data file into Oracle, the guy who gave me the file said that the first column is the longitude, but it wasn't. After switching sdo_point.x and y the error disappeard.
    I suppose the sdo_srid was expecting a different range and got confused because my long and lat were swapped.
    Cheers,
    F.

  • Why is the Log Area size much smaller than the log volume

    I have been following up on an Early Watch report that has been generated for our production SCM 5.0 system running liveCache 7.6.02 Build 14.  The alert says "The LOG volumes size in your system is too small. Recommendation: Configure LOG Volumes to at least 2 GB".  There are two interesting things about this.
    1) I have spent the last couple of days reading all the OSS Notes, and MaxDB documentation I could find, and this does not seem to be documented as a recommendation anywhere.  Does this seem like a realistic recommendation without taking into account the level of change actifity?
    2)  There is a single log volume allocated with size 2,097,160 KB.  In production LC10 and DBMGUI report this to be correct size under volume details, but only list the total log area size as 1,706,328 (81% of the volume size).  We have a non-production environment with exactly the same size log volume, but it reports that the log area size is 2,032,008 KB (97% of the volume).  What leads to these different amounts of wasted space, and is there any way of getting the database to start using it?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Thanks for the explaination of the reserved space for the Log Queue pages.  This does explain why there is the difference between the two.  I think we probably have our log segment size too large.  As you can see we do get occasional log queue overflows.  Do you suggest we increase the size of our log IO queue higher, and allocate more log volume space to compensate?

  • Why is it that the iMovie project is less sharp than the individual clips?

    Hello everybody,
    I must admit that I'm new to digital video taping, but I'm pretty sure that I'm not hallucinating. The problem I'm seeing is that the HD clips that I'm shooting and importing in 1920 x 1080 resolution (in either 60i or 30 fps) are very sharp when I view them individually, but once I assemble them into an iMovie '09 project, the resulting video is much less sharp. I'm using a Canon Vixia HF100 camcorder.
    Is this some expected behavior or is it a bug? More importantly, is there anything I can do to fix this?
    Thanks much, eugen

  • Why is menu size so much larger than the files?

    I am somewhat perplexed - I'm making a single-layer dvd and have a simple single screen theme (no animation) - it has one drop zone. The movie has 28 chapters so there are five of them, but so far I've added only one montage of photos to each menu page - it's a "mobile" quality in media browser and ave only 10 - 20 MB, then one song. On average these movie clips are 1:00 to 2:00 min long and the music is cut to that length. So, all told, it's probably less than 110 MB in files - but when I look at the project properties, the menus are 3301 MB!!!
    The movie itself is only 1.1 GB so what is going on?
    It's preventing me from doing the project and I've got no idea why it's making the menu size so much larger than the file sizes?
    Can you please help me figure out what to do?
    Alexa

    The 2 min clips were natively 2 min - I had each one separate and actually converted to media browser in "mobile" size (b/c the drop zone was 4 x 6 in size in the theme). They were tiny - in most cases I was shortening the audio (e.g. the song was 4 minutes and I was setting the loop to only 1:30 b/c that's how long the video clip was on the menu).
    BUT, to resolve the question (I always like to post the answer) - I ended up duplicating the project to try to reimport the video. It was a fresh iDVD project and I happened to click on the project tree of screens - and, lo and behold, the ENTIRE menu was duplicated for some reason (and the movie, actually). I went back to the original and it was the same! I have no idea how that would happen do you? It only had one main menu screen - and then an entire duplicate menu - which I wouldn't even know how to access if I didn't see it in the project menu tree?
    The only think of is that at one point I added a title menu link to the scene selection - it gave me a warning that my menu was more than 12 minutes, did I want to fix or ignore and fix later - which confused me b/c it was under 12 min, then but I clicked ignore. Does that create an alternate title menu and send people back to something else?
    Anyway, I deleted the entire extra scene selection menus (5 of them) and it was back to under 4 GB.
    So, I was able to burn, but still wondering about creating the "title menu" link on scene selections? It drives me crazy that it doesn't automatically do that so I like to add "main menu" links.
    Thanks for your help!

  • FSRM reporting quote usage larger than the actual Size

    File server resource manager is reporting quote usage larger than the actual Size or even “Size on Disk”. The only theory I have so far is that the FSRM is counting data in Shadow Copy. Does FSRM count data in Shadow Copy?

    Hi,
    Please check if you turn on the NTFS file system compression functionality or if you compress the files that you own on an NTFS volume. If so, the disk quota that you are charged increases.

  • Printing a component that is larger than the paper size

    Hi,
    I am trying to print a component that may be larger than the size of the paper being used. Is there some way to get it to split between pages - ie, if it's larger than the page, it is printed over two or more pages?
    The component in question is a JTextArea. Would it be better to get the text from it and use the graphics drawString rather than the component's paint method?

  • Navigate an image that is larger than the stage?

    Hello, I would like some assistance getting this to work. I'm not even sure if its possible, but I will be eternally grateful for an answer.
    I would like to have an image much larger than the stage, with little buttons all over it that play a MC when moused over. When the mouse reaches the edge of the screen, I want it to scroll so that the viewer can explore the whole image.
    In short, its a map with destinations, and on mouse over the destinations play a MC. I'd like the viewer to be able to "explore" the map with the mouse.
    It seems simple, is there a good way to do it?
    Also, once it is done, is there a way to begin with the entire image shown, but then have it tween to its final (Very large) size, without breaking that functionality.
    Thank you so much. This is for a class project and I'm trying to "go above and beyond" but, its a little to beyond for me.
    Kayla

    To make the image move, based on the mouse position you might do something like this:
    addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, checkMouse);
    function checkMouse(e:Event):void
         if(mouseX > 500){
              myImage.x -= 1;
         if(mouseY < 100){
              myImage.y += 1;
    That's just a simple example. You'll need to check the bottom and left too... and you'll need to stop your image from moving past its edges:
    if(myImage.x + myImage.width < theRightEdge){
         myImage.x = theRightEdge - myImage.width;
    to keep it from going too far left...
    I would also suggest using TweenLite to do your tweening. You can simply google TweenLite to find it.

  • IPhone 5 created a backup larger than the phones capacity (16GB) and now I can't get anything back onto my phone after Restoring it!

    I had a few storage issues to start with, I basically deleted everything in my phone (media, messages, notes, calanders, apps etc) and my phone still said it was at capacity. The more I deleted the less I could put on there. So I took it the the Apple Store where the manager told me to do a Restore. I did this, then was unable to put the backup straight back onto my phone as it said there was not enough free space (it was empty!), I then called Apple Support who instructed me on how to view the size of the backup and it turned out to be 16.32GB (.32GB larger than the iPhones's capacity) but were unable to give me any useful tips! I downloaded a backup extractor but have no idea how to use it! Please help me

    why should I do that?

  • How do I get an image which is larger than the page to scroll?

    I am new to CSS and CS4 and my problem relates to a gif image which is larger than the page.I cannot get the image to scroll either vertically or horozontally. This image is of a family tree graph and I cannot reduce it's size any more otherwise it would not be ledgeable. I want the image to scroll vertically underneath the fixed header. I am using a twoColHybLtHdr template. Also when I have corrected this problem will the CSS then apply to all further pages and could that cause other problems?
    Thanks in anticipation

    Thank you for your advice. I have been adjusting the CSS settings in the Container and the Main Content. I have now achieved both scroll bars, that cover all pages. The problem I have now is getting the Bottom (horizontal) scroll bar onto the bottom of the browser window. If I set the height as auto or inherit then the scroll bar stays at the bottom of the page, so you have to scroll down to find it. I can set the height in px and this is fine for one window resolution but it doesn't automatically reposition for the various different resolutions, is this possible to achieve? Can anyone please help me resolve this last obstacle

    Hi,
    Let us assume that we are going to take Division and distribution channel in a dimension and assume we have 20 distinct values for Division in R/3 and 30 Distinct values for Distribution channel .So Maximum, we can get 20 * 30 records in dimension table and we can take rough estimation of records in the cube by observing the raw data in source system.

  • Why are my trimmed QT movies larger than the original?

    I have a bunch of raw .dv files copied over from my camcorder that have never been edited or opened in any other program. When I open in QT X and trim the file, the trimmed MOV version is often larger than the raw DV. On one file, I even trimmed about half of it away and it still came out larger. I was under the assumption that DV is not compressed and neither is raw MOV,
    After trimming the file and saving it, I select "movie" as the format since at this point I want to leave the files in as raw as a format as possible before I bring into an editing program like iMovie.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Since QuickTime X doesn't have any export "options" (other than dimensions) a "raw" DV Stream format should always be smaller in file size.
    DV Stream is about 13 GB's per hour of recording. A QuickTime X "conversion" would use H.264 video and AAC audio codecs and should be about ten times smaller in file size.
    Are you sure your files are DV Stream?
    In any event, QuickTime X may not be the best tool for the job.
    QuickTime Player Pro doesn't re-compress the source codec if you use a simple "save" or "save as".
    A regular "save" after doing any edits will replace your source file with the newer version. No way to restore any of the edited information so you should use save as (keeping the original).
