  • Archive & Install - Possible with error ' the underlying task reported fail

    I have tried to repair my drive in disk utility however i get a error message ;
    'the underlying task reported failure one exit'
    My question is , am i able to do a archive and install?? im worried about doing a reformat as i have only just put new photos in iphoto and didnt get chance to backup with TM
    I must also mention that i cannot access os x as my mac crashed yesterday. So I can only boot to into install disk 1.

    You have a corrupt directory and maybe files, even the latest you added.
    I don't use TM anymore, so I don't know if I would even try using it from your DVD. But I would make sure to get another drive for backups and then either TechTool Pro/Deluxe and/or Alsoft Disk Warrior.
    Disk repairs should ideally only be done after backing up, and while it may fix the problem, not the cause, nor can you be sure there aren't corrupt file (or its content), or perhaps an underlying bad sector on the drive.
    PS: Even Disk Utility -> Restore can copy one drive to another drive volume so you only need to boot from your DVD and have a USB/FW drive to work with.
    Check these folks for drives:

  • Load report failed error at setdatabaselogon

    I have a machine that is getting the error 'load report failed' which is happening at the setdatabaselogon command in the VB.NET module i'm using.  Sometimes it does it sometimes it doesn't!!
    Anyone know of any reason why this would happen?

    I just tried this again with the same result. I uninstalled the previous Crystal, deleted all the old folders and reg keys I could find, then installed the new 64 bit redist package. I asigned permissions to the SAP reg key tree. I ended up with the same result: "Invalid file name". There were new files created in the temp folder for each report request, so I can tell that my.rpt files are being found.
    I used process monitor to see what was happening, and here are the results that seem interesting:
    RegOpenKey     HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0     NAME NOT FOUND
    RegOpenKey     HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0     NAME NOT FOUND

    Since it seemed to be trying to create files in the \win64_x64 folder, I allowed the process full access, but it didn't help. It was also looking for SmAgentAPI.dll which does not seem to exist on my system.

    Hi Victor,
    Go to SM37 and put in the username as DDIC and see the job log.
    Also check  Sm50 and see whether you have BTC processes available.
    Last but not the least check your filesystem space  usage too.

  • Runtime v13.0.6.1027 causing Load Report Failed on Citrix Receiver v13.4.0.25

    With the installation of SP6 runtime, our clients that connect via Citrix are getting the following Load Report Failed message:
    In order to fix, they must change their Citrix Connection Session Security for Files to Full Access.  And, apparently, even if this Files setting is correct, they still cannot create files on the root of their C: drive, so they must create a new folder on their C: dirve and save any files to that folder.
    I saw this discussion Crystal report error while loading the file and Don stated:
    "Hello,
    It's exactly what it says, the path to the report is not correct, user does not have permission to it or it simply doesn't exist.
    Check Citrix's Forum, there are known issues with it and CR.
    Don"
    Prior to our upgrade to V13.0.6.1027, we we used the Crystal 2008 runtime components to run reports, and had no issue.  Why, with this version of runtime does the access change?  We have many citrix users, and this has become a critical issue.
    Can you please point me to the specific forum that states the known issues with Citrix and CR?
    Thank you

    I never checked myself but because it a Citrix issue you should ask Citrix for help. They are familiar with permission issues and configurations.
    If you run CR on your desktop it works...

    Thanks for the link to the Reporting Services forum.  I found the fix in this thread:
    https://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3644545&SiteID=1
    I had to create a registry key and reboot:
    1.
    Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2.
    Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
    3.
    In the right pane, locate the ServicesPipeTimeout entry.
    Note If the ServicesPipeTimeout entry does not exist, you must create it. To do this, follow these steps:
    a.
    On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    b.
    Type ServicesPipeTimeout, and then press ENTER.
    4.
    Right-click ServicesPipeTimeout, and then click Modify.
    5.
    Click Decimal, type 60000, and then click OK.
    This value represents the time in milliseconds before a service times out.
    6.
    Restart the computer.
    After the reboot, the service was running.  Thanks for your help with this.

  • Can't print more than 75 reports... Load report failed

    Hi,
    I have a problem: I can't print more than 75 reports without restarting my application.
    I'm using VB, Visual Studio 2005 and Crystal Reports Developer XI Release 2.
    It's a windows application.
    In the following examples I'm exporting to pdf but the same hapens if I put it on a viewer.
    I tried to do some tests to find out the problem. I don't have a solution yet
    Test 1:
    I made a cycle printing 100 times the same report. I used the code from an example that was in the BusinessObjects website and just put it into a cycle. At 75 I get the error "Load Report Failed"

    End If

    Dim crReportDocument As ReportDocument
    Dim crDiskFileDestinationOptions As DiskFileDestinationOptions
    ''The path/location where the exported file will be saved
    Dim exportFilePath As String = ExportFolder + "\exported" & i & ".pdf"
    ''Create an instance of the Chart report
    crReportDocument = New Chart()
    ''Set the options for saving the exported file to disk
    crDiskFileDestinationOptions = New DiskFileDestinationOptions()
    crDiskFileDestinationOptions.DiskFileName = exportFilePath
    crReportDocument.ExportOptions.DestinationOptions = crDiskFileDestinationOptions
    crReportDocument.ExportOptions.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile
    crReportDocument.ExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat
    ''Export the report
    crReportDocument.Export()
    Next
    Test 2:
    I try to insert a "crReportDocument.Dispose() after the Export. It takes more than 1 minute doing the dispose and lots of time processing the 2nd report (more than 2 minutes)
    Dim ExportFolder As String = Application.StartupPath + "\export"
    If Not IO.Directory.Exists(ExportFolder) Then
    IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(ExportFolder)
    End If

    Dim crReportDocument As ReportDocument

    crReportDocument.ExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat
    ''Export the report
    crReportDocument.Export()
    ' Dispose
    crReportDocument.Dispose()
    Next
    Test 3
    Same as Test3 but with ReportDocument.Close() before the dispose.
    Still doesn't work, Close takes too long, just like Dispose...
    Test 4
    I tried using a global variable with the ReportDocument.
    Instead of creating new instances of the ReportDocument, I keep using the same.
    It works fine if I use always the same report file, but if I try to print 2 different reports the 2nd returns the error "Load Report Failed" and takes too long loading before the error.
    Well, I made some researches on internet and I foud this, but still doesn't work with me, because Dispose always takes too long...

    Already tried that, then I get another problem...
    After exporting the first report, takes 1 or 2 minutes doing the Close and the Dispose, and after that it takes too long trying to load the next report (after 1 hour I give up!).
    This is the code I'm using to do the tests:
            'Create the export folder
            Dim ExportFolder As String = Application.StartupPath + "\export"
            If Not IO.Directory.Exists(ExportFolder) Then
                IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(ExportFolder)
            End If
            For i As Integer = 1 To 100
                Dim crReportDocument As ReportDocument
                Dim crDiskFileDestinationOptions As DiskFileDestinationOptions
                ''The path/location where the exported file will be saved
                Dim exportFilePath As String = ExportFolder + "\exported" & i & ".pdf"
                ''Create an instance of the Chart report
                crReportDocument = New Chart()
                ''Set the options for saving the exported file to disk
                crDiskFileDestinationOptions = New DiskFileDestinationOptions()
                crDiskFileDestinationOptions.DiskFileName = exportFilePath
                crReportDocument.ExportOptions.DestinationOptions = crDiskFileDestinationOptions
                crReportDocument.ExportOptions.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile
                crReportDocument.ExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat
                ''Export the report
                crReportDocument.Export()
                'Close and dispose
                crReportDocument.Close()
                crReportDocument.Dispose()
            Next
    Thanks,
    Isabel

  • Deploying Crystal Reports with IIS - Load Report Failed

    Post Author: jeremyrarextreme
    CA Forum: Deployment
    Hi
    We have installed Crystal Reports Developer XI release 2 with Visual Studio 2005 to implement a very simple app that allows a crystal report to be loaded via the web. This works perfectly fine when I publish my build from Visual Studio 2005 (using the built in cystal controls) and go view in browser.
    Everything looks fine when I run the app from Visual Studio by clicking view in browser - the crystal report loads and everything is how it should be.
    When I publish the build on our production server (a Windows 2003 server running IIS6) I get the error: Load Report Failed
    A full detailing of this error can be found on this forum post: http://aspadvice.com/blogs/rjdudley/archive/2005/05/18/2591.aspx
    where many other people are having the same issue.
    I have struggled for a very long time to find a solution to this, how do I resolve this issue?
    when I try to view the .net 2.0 project from a browser running through IIS It displays the business objects toolbar but returns the error: Load Report Failed
    When I run this in my development environment directly from Visual Studio 2005 it works perfectly fine and loads the report.
    The report path is perfectly fine and correct, we have permissions on all folders for read, write and execute for both general user / admin accounts and IIS accounts on the Windows 2003 Server.
    We also have full permissions on c:/temp and c:/windows/temp
    What else can I do to make this work!
    Many thanks and awaiting your reply

    Yes I too have been fighting this problem. I was using a XML Data file and schema file for my u201Cdatabase templateu201D in the report. I would then run my query using the .NET SQLClient then fill the report with my dataset table using the SetDataSource method from the ReportDocument object.
    I tried both embedded and runtime loaded reports all worked fine on my development machine but would NOT work on my production server. I use all the server installs, played with user rights, registering DLLu2019s still nothing.  I went as far as creating a winform app to fix the problem. I then had exactly the same problem, I was catching the error and it originated from the viewer control in both winform and webforms.
    What finally worked for me was to attach to the database using OLE DB instead of XML/schema (xml/xsd) datasource then pasting my SQL Query into the database connection command this gave me the fields to build the report. I actually used the u201CSet Database Locationu201D Dialog in Crystal Reports so I didnu2019t have to redesign my report. This dialog works very weird but I managed to figure it out. I then used an embedded report and all seem to be well. I think there is a problem with the Crystal Reports .NET Server Install and Merge Modules used with .NET with XML files, but I cannot be sure, all I know is this worked for me.
    I am concerned that if my database server is moved or renamed my report might break because the server connection is embedded in the report, but for right now it is working. I thought that was the reason for using the xsd file was to eliminate the dependence on a server connection in the report.
    Good luck and I hope this helps you fix your problem too. If it does please let me know I have see so many reports of people asking questions about this problem and it seems like most are left hanging.

  • OWB Repository Browser -  Execution Job Report Very Very Slow

    Dear All,
    I have tried searching the Oracle Forum, but could not find any threads with above problems, would like to check if there are other gurus who can help with above issue:
    We are currently monitoring our ETL Jobs with Repository Browser (10GR2) and found the Repository Browser excruciatingly slow. The first screen for the Execution Summary Report shows up pretty fast, however whenever we want to drill further inthe Execution Job Reports, it takes almost 20 Minutes for the next screen to pop-up, and when we drill into the Process Flow Details it is another 20-40 Minutes.
    We have tried the following but it does not work:
    1) Purging the audit details to only 1-2 days audit data
    2) Re-analyzing all tables belonging to OWB_REPO_OWNER

  • TFS 2013 project based on Scrum 3.0 release burndown report fails on parameter

    Hi,
    We are testing upgarde scenario of TFS from 2010 to 2013. If it will pass we intend to do it on Production.
    I could not upgarde the Sharepoint and I am trying to resolve the problem but till then I am tried to create a new Agile project and New Scrum Project with new templates.
    The Agile works fine but the Project based on scrum template on the dashboard the release burndown report failed with the following error: Parameter validation failed. It is not possible to provide valid values for all parameters. (rsParameterError)
    I have rebuild the warehouse and the analysis but it doesn't fix the problem.
    Any Idea , How can I fix it.
    The Project based on Template Microsoft Visual Studio Scrum 3.0.
    Please Advice.
    BR,
    Tzvia

    Hi,
    Do you still face this issue, you might try the following methods to see if the issue can be resolved:
    1. Check the service account for Team Foundation Server and the data sources account  to make sure the identity and format of the accounts are appropriate for the server.
    2. Performed a rebuild of Reporting via the TFS Admin Console if needed.
    3. Turn off firewall and try again.
    4. Clean the cache for TFS2013, you can follow below steps:
    •Clean the Cache folder on client computer. The folder path is: C:\Users\username(Team Explorer user name)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Team Foundation\4.0\Cache. (os: Windows Server 2008 R2)
    •Clean the Cache folder on Server machine. The folder path is: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Team Foundation\Web Access\Cache_v11.0. (os: Windows Server 2008 R2)
    •After cleaned, on Server machine, click Startand select Run… to open the dialog box, then input iisreset.exeand click OK, wait it run completely.

    I don't believe that this is configurable, and i believe in other versions that you only needed to give list directory access to make it work.

  • Load Report Failed Error

    LOAD REPORT ERROR
    We are working on the Crystal Reports version 2008 sp3 (12.0) with windows application. When the user tries to open more than 75 reports, this error is occurring. Please give us suggestion to resolve this issue.
    We have tried following Code changes.
    1.In Registry Settings Job Limit i changed to  -1
    2.Released all the report document objects once report generated.
    ReportDocument.Close();
    ReportDocument.Dispose();
    3.GC.Collect();
    GC.Collect();
    GC.WaitForPendingFinalizers();
    GC.Collect();
    Eventhough still i am getting error like "Load Report Failed"
    "The maximum report processing jobs limit configured by your system administrator has been reached."
    Once Report document objects are reached 75.how to decrese it?(without closing application)
    How can we resolve this issue.Any other suggestion are there for decreasing report document objects in crystal Engine.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks in Advance.

    There are two distinct concepts to consider:
    1) Concurrent Processor License (CPL)
    The CR engine is limited to 3CPL meaning that 3 concurrent reports can be processed by the report engine. Subsequent requests are queued up and processed as a license becomes available (in the event viewer you may see messages along the lines of;  job x submitted, waiting y seconds for available license).  The .close and .dispose methods free up memory taken up processing a report. Not doing so, increases memory used until there is no more memory to be had, leading to issue such as loading of reports, unstable computers and crashes.
    2) Print Job
    A Print Job is defined as almost any job a report is requested to do. E.g.; paging is a Print Job, Zooming, subreport, etc. One report could have 75+ print jobs associated with it simply by putting a subreport into a detail section which contains 75+ records and the subreport runs per each record. I suspect this is where your issue lies. There is a way to increase the number of print jobs, however the engine is optimized for this number and increasing it may lead to unanticipated consequences. See the article [Crystal Reports Maximum Report Processing Jobs Limit|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/f053713e-3e3d-2c10-2a81-f79259e54023]. One note on the above article. I mention that setting the value to 0 essentially removes the limit. While that is true in certain cases, doing so is playing with fire....
    One other article to take note of is [Troubleshooting the error; Load Report Failed|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/d02f7cd3-f18b-2d10-55ad-dab2200f68fc]

    pls help me out it is urgent based.

    Thanks!

    Hi Ychinnari,
    I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
    Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
    Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible,please also not specify this account:
    This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
    When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
    When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.
    Execution Account (SSRS Native Mode)
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

    Steven DeSalvo

    Hi StevenDE2012,
    Based on the error message "The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError)", it seems that the Unattended Execution Account settings in Reporting Services
    Configuration is not correct.
    Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. Unattended report processing refers to any report execution process that is triggered by an event rather than
    a user request. The report server uses the unattended report processing account to log on to the computer that hosts the external data source. This account is necessary because the credentials of the Report Server service account are never used to connect
    to other computers. To configure the account, please refer to the following steps:
    Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
    On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.
    Type the account and password, retype the password, and then click Apply.
    In addition, please verify you have access to the Report Server database by following steps:
    Go to SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager, make sure the configuration is correct.
    Go to Database, Verify that you can connect to the database.
    Make sure you are granted public and RSExecRole roles.
    Reference:
    Configure the Unattended Execution Account
    Configure a Report Server Database Connection
    If the problem is unresolved, i would appreciate it if you could give us detailed error log, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.
    Thanks,
    Wendy Fu
