imac starts and then go off, start in safe mode, during the repair of the disk, the following written "the exit code of file system control is 8" and the disk is not repaired

2. The colored box is the one visible as a border of the system numeric on the front panel. It is a rectangular box made up of lines that are one pixel thick. In the control editor, this shows up as the frame in the parts window. This same color is also visible in the control that opens the drop down box in a system enum.
3. The color picker is the window that is visible when I have the paintbrush tool selected and I right click on a control. A window comes up that has all the RGB colors visible, as well as 6 system colors that I can pick.
The reason I want to find this color is because I am trying to make custom controls that use the system colors. The color that is used is not listed in the 6 system colors in the color picker.

Software Distribution results in "The exit code is 1, the execution status is FailureNonRetry"

I am using sccm 2007 to deploy Symantec Edntpoint Protection. The software is installed OK but the execmgr.log shows "The exit code is 1, the execution status is FailureNonRetry" and registry entry for the package shows failure code 1 and status as failure. However, the application runs properly without any problem.
I recall that someone posted that if you let the system to reboot after installation, the installation would be logged as successful. However, I tried both "Software restarts computer" and "ConfigMgr restarts computer", but both configuration settings did not re-start the computer and I still get exit code 1.
Any suggestions?
I am also wondering if there is anyway to prompt the user for a manual reboot of the system after the installation.

Hi Stephen,
the configmgr client reports the exit code which was returned by your package installation. For example if an install package returns an exit code 1, it will be reported as error, if it returns exit code 0, it will be reported as success - whether or not the package "really" installed successful or failed.
The setting "Program restarts computer" will not reboot your client but assumes that the package you created automatically reboots the client after installation.
My suggestion is to verify/modify that your software package returns exit code 0.

It is hosted by default at $DOMAIN_HOME/server/$SERVER_NAME/logs/$SERVER_NAME.log
You can customize these configurations on WLS CONSOLE, go on the server, Configuration tab --> LOGS subtab

ERROR - the ProtectKeyWithTPMAndPIN Method failed with the exit code: 8031005B

I am using the EnableBitlocker.vbs script to automatically assign the TPM and start the encryption. I am running it from an elevated command prompt. Here is are the arguments I am running with
cscript EnableBitLocker.vbs /on:tp

All is well and it prompts the user for a PIN but then it fails.
Here is the full log file. I haven't been able to find any info on the error code in the subject.

This error indicates that the group policy isn't set correctly, when configure the group policy at teh server side, you should notice that only one of the additional authentication can be required at start up , otherwise a policy occurs, the notice can be
found just like below:
and after test, the error indeed occurs, just like the screen below:
So, I suggest to check the group policy for bitlocker settings, you can only choose one start up authentication method.

Process.exitValue() only returns the low byte of the exit code?

Hi - I'm executing a subprocess and then waiting for it to return, and then examining the exit code of the subprocess. The error the subprocess returns is 0xb03, but exitValue() only sees 0x03. Further testing shows that if I return 0xbff from my native process, exitValue() or waitFor() will only return 0xff. I expanded this further to return 0xfffffbff, and sure enough, the Process methods only return 0xff.
Anyone know what the deal is here? The return type for exitValue() and waitFor() are both 'int', so it seems reasonable to be able to return values up to 0xffffffff. Is there a way to set this up to sue the full int?

OK, that explains it. I think we had taken the fact that main() returns and int on *NIX that you could return anything that fit in an int into the exit code. I've now found some corroboration that you can only return a value of 0-255.
This also explains why we have never seen this issue on Windows - apparently you can return much larger values on Windows.

Javaws stdout stderr and the exit code

I would like to write a java app that will launch jnlp app.
The task by itself is simple, but I have a few questions:
1. Every time JNLP app is launched (failed or not) I get the same exit code from javaws is ALWAYS = 0 Any reason why?
2. In case of the failure, I can not get the actual error/message to the std out/err I would like to log it to my own log file.
3. Debug parameters are not inherited by the JVM launched from JNLP. How to debug the actual app running in the sandbox?
Is there any doc that describes execution sequence of javaws.exe?
Can JNLP app live in the same JVM as javaws?

The solaris 10 OS (root disk) is crached.i have configered execpt root disk to all disks for ZFS file systems.We using to application.Now any possble to retrive the data.

If the OS wasn't on ZFS, then just rebuild the server, hook up the drives and run 'zpool import'. It should find the pool on the disks and offer it up to be imported.
