The extension cannot be installed, it requires illustrator

I installed Adobe Extension Manager and enable Exchange and followed the directions from the website page: http://pazzles.com/support/electronic-cutters/inspiration/illustrator-plugin/ to try to apply a plug-in for this die-cutter machine I purchased. When I double click the pazzlescutcontrol_csxx file, Adobe Exchange pops up and I get the error "The extension cannot be installed, it requires Illustrator." But like I said, I already have Illustrator through Adobe Creative Cloud.  I've search on this forum and through Google, so I may have overlooked the answer to this, but I didn't see anything.  I'm not sure what I need to do to fix this/make this work.  I'm also posting this in the company Pazzle's forums, but I wasn't sure if anyone else has had a similar problem.  Thanks in advance!

1. This extension doesn't specify the version requirement for the "product" elements in its mxi file (The version string is empty). The version must be specified.
2. In the "file" elements of the mxi file, CS5, CS5.1 and CS6 are specified. So even if the first error is fixed, the plugin will not be copied for Illustrator CC or CC2014.

  • "the extension cannot be installed it requires flash-" error

I am attempting to install my flash command extensions that I was using under Flash CS5 for CC, using Extension Manager (EM) CC.
I am writing the MXI file myself in order to do this (and packaging them with EM CS6), but I constantly get the error "The extension cannot be installed it requires Flash version 8 or greater".
I think the manager is reacting to the product tag which is currently set as
    <products>
      <product familyname="Flash" version="8"/>
    </products>
I DO have Flash installed, and it is higher than 8 so why am I getting this error? I've tried changing the version number and doing away with the products tag all together but this doesn't help.
Flash & Photoshop are the only CC programs I have installed and they are showing in the sidebar in EM CC
The command is definitely compatible with flash as I can install it by simply putting it in the right place, but I wanted to circulate this to my colleagues without explaining how to find the config folder.
    Thank you for your help,

  • This extension cannot be installed, it requires Photoshop32........

I have a client who is trying to install my extension panels into Photoshop CS6. In the ZXP file there are two panels that are suppose to get installed. Only one gets installed. Both panels were created with Configurator 4 and were packaged together with Adobe Exchange Packager.
Here is the kicker: The client has two computers running Windows 7 and Photoshop CS6. He was able to successfully install both panels on computer one, but only one of the panels was installed on computer two. When trying to install on computer two he gets this message "This extension cannot be installed, it requires Photoshop32 version in range of inclusively 13.0 to 13.9". Does anyone have any idea as to what this message means?
Being on a Mac, I don't have a clue as to what the issue could be.
Thanks in advance for your help - Sam

His Extension Manager on the second computer might be out of date. I recently tried to install an extension for Photoshop CC, but when I went to double click on the extension it used the Extension Manager for CS6. So I received a similar message. Once I downloaded to correct Extension Manager it loaded correctly.

    Photoshop CC

    Hi,
Have you ever uninstalled Photoshop CC and installed Photoshop CC 2014, or uninstalled Photoshop CC 2014 then installed Photoshop CC?
If that, please re-install you uninstalled Photoshop, and remove GuideGuide from Extension Manager before uninstall.
Another option is remove extension manager database file, then launch Extension Manager to install it.
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Configuration\DB\ExMan.db (Windows)
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Configuration/DB/ExMan.db (MAC)
But please notice that all your previously installed extensions will not be shown in Extension Manager after you removed database file.

  • "extension cannot be installed because licensing verification failed"

    Hi everyone,
I have the Adobe Photography plan for Photoshop CC, and it works perfectly fine, it will open and close normally, but when i try to install an extension, it will give me this error message: "extension cannot be installed because licensing verification failed". Please help. Much appreciated!!

Is your extension directly downloaded from https://creative.adobe.com/addons
If yes, Please click "Tools"->"Preferences" menu item in Extension Manager, check "Enable detailed logging" option. Restart Extension Manager. Try to install the extension. After error message promopt, send the log files under "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CC\Log" (Windows) or "/Users/<YourUserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CC/Log" (Mac) folder  to [email protected]

I just downloaded the newest update for mountain lion. After downloading any restarting for installation, I got a message stating that the update cannot be installed due to an error. Yet when I check I have version 10..8.3 and safari version 6.0.3, which the update was for.  Does this mean that the update is iinstalled and the message was incorrect?

Good timing! Oh well, at least you shouldn't have to update again for a while. It will be nice kickstarting your Mac with the very latest System Update knowing any hiccups from 10.8.2 would have been ironed out if they were going to affect your workflow at all.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the installation again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Extension Manager CS5: The extension is not installed, sometimes.

    Hallo you all,
inspired by the breadcrumb thread here in the forum, I searched the corresponding *.mxp application and did a download from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?searchfield=breadcrumb&search_exchange=3&s earch_category=-1&search_license=&search_rating=&search_platform=0&search_pubdate=&num=25& startnum=1&event=search&sticky=true&sort=0&rnav_dummy_tmpfield=&Submit=Search
Installing *.mxp applications by using my Extension Manager CS5 hadn't been a problem till now. This time (breadCrumbs1.mxp)  I got this message:
"Die Menüs können nicht aktualisiert werden. Die Erweiterung wird nicht installiert." what means more or less "The menus can not be updated. The extension is not installed".
What's the reason for it? How can I bring the manager to install this mxp extension nevertheless?
A hint would be very grateful.
    Hans-G.

    Hi John,
thanks for your answer and ... you are right! Your "Outdated version (2003) of the extension incompatible with CS5 is my guess, Hans" took me to the right track.
Problem was, that I gave a hint in this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3228950#3228950 among others exactly to this link you proposed: http://www.kaosweaver.com/extensions/details.php?id=6.
That made me nosy and so I downloaded the both, called "breadCrumbs.mxp" and "breadCrumbs1.mxp" and tried to install with the effects described above.
Perhaps my solution is of general interest:
On my PC there exist some former DW versions fortunately. So I changed the name of the "Adobe Extension Manager CS5" a little bit, and I could outwit CS5 and could install the "breadCrumbs.mxp" with "Adobe Extension Manager CS4" completely unproblematic instead!
    Hans-G.
    P.S.
The extensions are also working in versions ≤ CS4.
