The Files window in Dreamweaver stays in front when it is not active

How do I get the Files window in Dreamweaver CC to 'jump' behind the active window. It is VERY ANNOYING(!) as it is now when it stays in front on the screen although it is not active. I remember it was like this in an earlier version of DW also, but it was fixed after an update.

Hi,
we have the following business requirement:
Background of the issue:
Field Status variant in Account Assignment category and GL:
We are in the process of rolling out one of our company codes which is
in a different instance(server).
We already have some 130+ company codes running in a different
instance. This is a kind of Instance consolidation to bring all systems
under one instance.
Funds Management has been activated in the company code for which we
are carrying out the rollout. FM has not been activated for the
existing company codes.
Now, the issue is with regard to the field status variants, which can
be controlled at the company code level and which cannot be controlled
which is at the client level.
(i)     The existing company codes have a field status variant which
has the field status groups having the fields Commitment items and
Funds center in Suppress mode in the existing instance.
(ii)     The company to be rolled out has the field status variant which
has field status groups having the fields Commitment items and Funds
Center in Optional mode.
(iii)     On the other hand, there is yet another field status control
for the Account assignment objects like Cost center, WBS elements, etc.
in the MM-FI integration area. This is at client level and at present
the same has the status of u201CSuppressu201D for Commitment items and Funds
Center. We have changed the same to u201COptionalu201D for the purpose of
testing the proposed roll out in our existing instance.
In that case, the status of GL account assignment in above is
clashing with our client level field status as described in (iii)
above. As a result, we are forced to change the field status in
above to optional mode for our existing company codes which we do not
intend to do.
When only one company within a group of companies is activated with FM,
I feel that:
(i)     At the client level, there is no option for me other than to
keep the Funds center and commitment items in optional mode
(ii)     At the GL level, I should be able to keep my field status in
Suppress mode (If FM is not activated) and in Optional mode (If FM is
activated) and SAP should be able to take care of the clash in the
field status at the transaction level in such a scenario.
The issue is we are able to control the access if FM is activated for a particular company code, where as we are unable to control the access for other company codes where FM is not activated and FM Area is not linked.
We tried to use the BADI ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST, but this is applicable for POs only.
Please look into this issue and help us in meeting our business requirement.

Copy and save this bold text some where
/Applications/iChat.app/Contents/MacOS/iChat -errorLogLevel 7
This needs to be run in Terminal.
iChat needs to be shut down to do so.
Just paste it in Terminal after the Welcome to Darwin message and hit enter.
It will launch iChat and create an on-going log in the Terminal window.
You will see the reference to the Harware rules.plist
Further down you will see the bandwidth found by iChat, followed by the number of Audio and Video Buddies that you can support.
It goes on.....
It makes a note of the router that you are connected to.
After that it will end up lists listening checks until you connect to a Chat.
This makes this a useful way to find out what iChat can see at it's startup.
To Stop - Quit iChat in the Normal way.
Save the Log in a Text editor of some sort. (Post here if required).
Then Quit Terminal.
It is a useful tool to highlight some things in the start up phase, (And a reminder to look in specific places) when you think you have looked at all the settings.

Since upgrading to windows 8.1 I can not see any local files in the files window.

I have recently upgraded to windows 8.1 and can no longer see my local files in the files window. All remote files for all remote sites are visable.
If I change sites under local view get error thet dreamweaver can not update cache

I have deactivated and am trying to reload software inside of windows 8.1.

I honestly don't know if DW CS5 is compatible with Win 8.1. The OS compatibility FAQ only mentions DW CS6 & CC.

Are you trying to reduce the file size with the "Reduced size PDF" in the save as other option.
Give it a try if you haven't done it prior.
Open that PDF>File>Save as Other>Reduced size PDF.
If possible ,please share the snapshot of the error message with us so that we can have a look in order to assist you further.

How to arrange files in the files window?

I just finished doing the cut of a movie in Premiere Pro and hit the the "edit in Audition" button to do the music and audio. And now the problem: when Audition opened I just saw the hundreds of audio files in the file window (2 for every scene) and until now I didn't find out any possibility to arrange them in subfolders or anything else like you do it in AE or Premiere.
So right now Audition is more or less useless as I have to spend minutes to find my music files within the other files...

What option did you use to send your files over? There's two "paradigms" for editing in Audition from within Premiere. The first is editing of specific assets or clips. In this case, you select one or more clips and choose Edit > Edit in Adobe Audition > Edit Clip which will perform a render & replace operation, then open the new, linked files in Audition. Any change you make to these files in Audition will be reflected in the corresponding Premiere clip. This is generally the mode used when you want to perform Noise Reduction or add effects to specific clips.
The other paradigm is editing the entirety of the sequence. This method creates a new session in Audition that mirrors your current Premiere timeline, even rendering a preview video. Here, you can apply edits to any clip in the timeline within Audition, re-record portions, add new audio, and mix and master the session, sending back rendered stems to Premiere.
Audition doesn't emulate the "project" format of Premiere, so the Files panel is less of an organizational tool than a collection of the raw assets in a timeline. We are exploring how the "bin" concept that Pr and AE use might be applied, but historically there is a definite distinction between the two workflows.

How do I get my project back? I closed it in the File window.

I closed my project in the file window, and I accidently saved and closed premire pro. When I opened it again, all my video clips and other stuff was there, but none of my edited work. How do I get it back?

You just saved a Project with the sequence closed.

DW CS5 keeps expanding a folder in the file window

I just started using DW CS5 (was on CS2). On one of my sites I notice that one of the folders in the file window keeps getting expanded to show it's content (i.e. the little icon before the folder is "-" not "+").
It's always the same folder and there are lots of folders.
Any idea why?

Not sure if my input will help, but I am getting this same issue. (Windows 7 64bit 6gb ram, quad core processor DW CS5.5 Studend Version)
I disabled search indexing on my machine a fair while ago, so I do not think that is the issue (for me anyway).
I also note that this does not happen with simple pages (i.e non-database non-php non-js related pages).
I also turned off discover pages, but I do have related files set to show.
Once I say "No" to the error message, I get a second error stating "JavaScript error while loading RepeatRegion.htm. The user chose to stop the script."
The page that I am working on has a connection to a mysql database and uses the repeat region functionality to create a dynamic list from the query results returned. So I am guessing that behind the scenes there may be a connection timeout or something like that when trying to get the data from mysql, but that is just a guess.
I did not create a file called RepeatRegion.htm, so I am guessing this might be some kind of template that is used within DW for this functionality to work. I have no idea where the Javascript bit comes in, but again, this is not something that I set up.
Not sure it that helps at all, but a solution to this frustrating problem would be good.
PS. I think that this problem only starts for me once I alter the fabricated php code for database binding and server behaviour. As soon as I alter any of the code manually (adding some additional logic for example) then DW stops showing that I have bound recordsets and shows exclamation marks in the server behaviour section. Which makes sense, but might also be the reason that DW gets confused and hangs.

That FM will only open the file dialog.....to get the file name and directory where you want to save the data.
After getting the entire path you have to use GUI_DOWNLOAD:

I tried deleting FireFox and reinstalling it multiple times, and a message pops up sometimes that says FireFox may not have installed correctly, so I follow the steps, but all the extra icons on my desktop don't go away. This has happened every time I have downloaded FireFox. The browser itself works, but I need to know how to get rid of these icons, but still be able to use FireFox. This is on a new computer, with Windows 7.

First check the version of the document with Jongware's script "Identify.jsx" (ExtendScript/JavaScript).

If it is CS 5.5 or above, you need someone to open it in the version the script says and export an IDML representation from that. Another way would be to install a 30days version of CS6 or above (CC) and do it yourself.
In regards of the script showing a result for InDesign files higher than CS6:
CS7 = CC v9
CS8 = CC v10 = CC-2014 or CC2014.1

the problem started when my computer screen broke from something falling on it, the screen was replaced but the people that fixed it for me told me there may be some hard disk issues when a problem like this happens, they ran their own checks and found nothing and i was given my laptop back, then when i tried to use it, i found this problem. everything else works fine.
i have shutdown and re-started my computer multiple times and i have also re-started finder multiple times, both having no effect
i have also done a few other things to find that my apple.com.finder.plist and apple.com.sidebar.plist are both missing, and are not re-creating themselves, i have found no way to bring them back either.

there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

The opening window has the list of incoming emails. The left column of the page has the Mailbox window with folders. Perfect.
When I click Write - or Reply - or Forward, the window comes up with the write window... and my total address book - but NOT the Mailboxes. It was would come up until last week. And now I can't figure out how to add the mailboxes folder to the write/reply/forward screen.
And from that screen, I cannot get back to the main screen to reference another email. Real hassle. Am sure there is an easy answer. Would live to hear it.

The standard Thunderbird Write window is just that, a composition window. If you turn the Contact Sidebar on by pressing F9 then you can see your address book contacts down the left margin.
If you had anything different it must have been from an add on that you installed. There is no guessing what you did there.
