It's strange. The problem apparently resolved itself after I ran TechTool on it. When I clicked on Firefox last night, I had no problem opening a window. Thanks for your help. (As to your previous post, the focus was on Firefox and neither the speed keys nor the menu bar would open a window or tab of allow me to enter a URL to open a window. Strange!)

When I connect my Iphone 5 to my computer to tranfer pictures my computer says USB device attached to the computer has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. What do I do??

I do not understand why my computer is telling me that my new iphone 5 has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it when I plug it in the computer.

You are installing the Apple Mobile Device USB driver, which I did not have to do previously, so something in the updates has been left out / or changed.

IPhoto main view window does not update

I have a problem with the recent version of iPhoto 9.3 (650.39). Sometimes, if I return from a full view of an image, and then try to go to a different folder, album or anything, the main window view does not update. If I resize iPhoto, the main window stays the same.
I need to restart iPhoto to fix this problem. My Mac is a 2011 iMac with the latest Version of OS X 10.7.4
Anyone has a similar problem?

Having lots of problems with my firefox. It does not download when I click unless I restart the firefox many times. It does not open a new windows. Help please!

2 problems:
1. Files aren't downloaded when I click download. It only downloads after I restart the firefox many times.
2. New windows aren't being opened.

Some security software is also able to block new window.
Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Firefox remembers old data and does not update properly. What is the problem?

I follow my investments using the investment company's website. Today's data using Firefox does not reflect completley today's updates but retains some of yesterday's data. Why? What do I need to do?

Firefox should reload frames from the website if you reload and bypass the cache. 
Make sure that you do not use bookmarks that have GET data appended to the links (?xxx=xxx)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Firefox Selenium Remote Control window does not close.

Using Selenium 2.17 and/or Selenium 2.26 on Windows 7 we are having a problem with the Firefox Selenium RC (Remote Control) window not closing after the Selenium tests have completed.
We did not have any issues when using Firefox 10.0.1esr, but when we upgraded to 10.0.10esr the problem showed up.
Any ideas how to solve this problem? Our company requires us to be at the latest ESR release so going back to 10.0.1esr is not an option.
Any plans to resolve this problem in another ESR release?

'New Window' does not work while generating HTMLhelp

Hi team,
I have created a RoboHelp project and assigned the property 'Open in a New Window' for a particular page.
When I generate HTMLhelp format, and I click on the page, it opens in the same frame, but does not open in a new window.
However, this feature works fine when I generate Webhelp.
Is there any workaround?
Any assistance will be appreciated!!!

thanks for the hint, it helped the find the source of the problem.
Our Portal Framework is highliy modified - actually it is more a own developed Framework than a modification to the SAP Standard framework.
Opening the WebDynpro in a new window with the SAP Standard Framework does work perfectly. With the own developed Framework, the system behaviour is like described in my original post.
Thus back to the roots: We have to check our portal framework again :-(.

We are in Portal implementation face with ECC6 EHP4 and Portal EHP1
We have developed adobe form using HCM forms and processes and done the required configuration in SPRO
When we are trying to open the form from ESS we are getting below error
404 not found
The requested resource does not exist.
Please look into this issue and let us know any thing we are missing

Hi I have subvi in subpanel does not update after opening

Hi I have a problem with subvi updating inside the subpanel, after opening.
I need your advice, I am using LabView 7.1.
I am asking for your opinion before I can post my code because it is very large and made of many files outside the folder.
Here's the description of my problem.
- In the main vi, it has an event structure to open 3 references of the files, based on the ring control, Not only that, it also has events for many controls.
- In each subvi, it also has an event structure ofr it's own controls to work inside
- After opening the subvi in the subpanel, the controls like strings, are not updated, till the main vi is minimised and maximised again. Then the controls are updated. Weird... But then other controls are unresponsive and in the end I aborted it.
Funny thing is that, when I stripped most of the parts, leaving the essential ones I wanted to focus and debug.
It seems working and no problem.
How am I going to troubleshoot? I don't have any faintest idea as to how to find the cause of trouble?

The only think i can think of, strip the parts one by one ... when it works, probably you will have find the prolem (the last stripped).

I'm working on an app that is accessed in two different ways, one directly from our intranet e.g.:
http://host.domain:7000/esq/App.jsp
And also over the internet tunnled over ssl (Sun.net):
https://host2.sun.net/http%3A//host.domain%3A7000/esq/App.jsp
Obviously the cookie path of "/esq" doesn't work with a url like that. So I set cookiePath to "/". Which is fine, but then my cookie conflicts with other apps tunneled over SSL - including one we host on the same app server. I'm thinking that if I can change the cookie's name to something unique other than the default "JSESSIONID" I'd be ok. And that's where I think I've run into a bug with AS7. Setting the cookiePath works fine, but changing the cookieName doesn't seem to have any effect, the App server keeps on naming it "JSESSIONID".
This is what I have for my sun-web.xml:

Window does not update when I add a tab or switch to another tab

when I add a new tab, the new tab appears but the screen doesn't change. The content under all the tabs is the same.
If I type in a url, my current page updates and when I choses another tab, the screen doesn't change. All tabs have the same content.

After installing iOS5 the syncing from iPhone to PC does not update PC. PC to iPhone is okay. Anyone having same problem and/or solution?

After installing iOS5 on my iPhone 4 I am having a problem syncing Calendar, Contacts etc. If I say add something in Calendar on my iPhone it will not sync to my PC, even though is says it is. However if I add something to my Calendar on my PC (using Outlook) it will sync to my iPhone. Anyone having the same issues and/or solution?

Ok. I disabled hardware acceleration. The only extension is the McAfee Scriptscan for Firefox 15.1.0, which was already disabled. I then disabled all plugins (Acrobat, Google Update, Intel Identity Protection (2x), Java Deployment Toolkit, Java Platform, MS Office 2013, Quicktime, Shockwave, Silverlight), which were all up to date.
Normal or safe mode still has same result. No startup, no option button and no customize.

I recently bought a Brother MFC-J430W, and it is Mac compatible, but no matter what drivers I install, I cannot connect the machine to my macbook pro. The CD for MFL Pro Suite does not let me open the "start up" part so I am very stuck!

I cannot access my MFL Pro Suite CD no matter what drivers I install. I have OSX 10.8 updated right now. Please help, I'll be needing my printer in a couple days for university!

Folder windows do not update when open

I have a new computer with Windows 8.1. When I have a folder open and try to either create a new sub-folder, or move files into it, the new items are not visible until I close the window and re-open it.

Suggestion: Use Explorer windows ONLY on real hard drive folders, not abstractions such as Libraries.
It's much more likely to update properly on hard drive folders.
Also, there's a setting that you can change that often seems to help:
