The Firefox installation program extracts to 46%, then disappears without installing anything.
I have been using Firefox on my home PC since ver. 3.6. Last December I moved Firefox to another partition. Yesterday I noticed that while Firefox was running from the new partition (F:), it was still maintaining my profile in the old partition (E:). I tried moving my profile to F:, but when I tried to open Firefox, I got a message that it was already running. I de-installed Firefox and took all of the files off both partitions, thinking a clean install would do the trick. Now I can download the file, but when it runs it extracts to 46% and ends. I tried turning my AV off during download and install, but that didn't help. There is only one user account on this PC.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

170GB programs saved on hard drive? Without installing anything special?
Apparently I have over 170 GB of programs saved on my hard drive, but I do not use it for anything fancy or did not install anything spectacular. When checking the program size, iMovie is the biggest one with only 2,1 GB. I cannot find the reason why there should be so much on the hard drive.

On startup CC tells me to install an update. It downloads to 5% and then brings the message: "installation-program couldn't get access to critical file/folder. Try installing again. Error code 42". Any advice?

I have Firefox 2.0 (running Windows XP) and want to update it to 3.6, but the "Check for updates" option on the Help menu is grayed out and need to enable this option by changing permissions on the Firefox installation directory. I need detailed instructions on how to access the Firefox installation directory and change the permissions.

Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.
Install the new version that you have downloaded.

Clear Safari and Restart your iPad. Deleting the history isn't absolutely essential, but delete the cookies and data.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -

Should have received at least seven emails today but only one when I opened it then it disappeared after about thirty minutes. sent mail is still in sent box. Settings seam to be the same as my other email address which works gust fine.

Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.

I need to use SQL developer where there are existing connections. however, SQL developer 3.1 asked the java.exe location, and I chose java 6, now I can launch SQL developer but not able to continue running it. SQL developer starts and then disappears without any warning. Could anyone help me on this problem?

SamCan you start the exe from the BIN subdirectory? That should open a command console, and maybe you can see any error messages there that explain what's happening. For step-by-step directions, here's some help:

I was going to delete and reinstall firefox. There were Two files to delete, in programs. One was the browser and the other was a firefox maintenance program. I deleted that but then changed my mind on deleting the browser. I want to be sure Firefox stays safe and complete.

I've had Firefox installed on this computer for a couple of years, but only really started using this computer in the last 6 months. Originally Firefox 14, then Firefox 17.0.01, then finally 19.0
It crashed yesterday on starting, I uninstalled and reinstalled and same issue. I regressed back through version 17.0.0.1 and Firefox 14. I updated Shockwave, Flash, Java. I also uninstalled Divx, AC3 and Adobe Reader (recent installs/updates)
Updated MIcrosoft security essentials and ran a scan, no issues discovered. Updated and ran Superantispyware and found 1 Trojan which I removed.
Crash reporter comes up as soon as the firefox link is actioned. Can start firefox in Safemode.please start firefox in safemode (by pressing the shift-key while it is launching) & go to ''firefox > options > advanced > general'' & disable hardware acceleration.

I tried yesterday to install iTunes on a XP Services Pack 3 Pc, It said that it couldn't install it. So after much reading last night, i downloaded Revo Uninstaller Pro, and uninstalled all apple software, included Bonjour, Quicktime and Apple Support along with iTunes. I then, used Ccleaner to double check that nothing apple related was left in the registry.
After doing all the above, i rebooted the PC, and downloaded a fresh copy of iTunes from the website, and installed it. I installed the first time of asking. I then pulged in my Son's new iPod, and it detected it as a scanner/Camera, and behind that was a message that said the following:" This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install iTunes again"
I've tried doing this, and it keeps coming up with the same message
Can anyone help pleaseIn Windows 7, go to Control Panel (usually in the Start menu) and look for Add and Remove Programs. It will load a long list of programs. Find iTunes on that list and uninstall it. Then try using the 64-bit installer.
