Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in [[Safe mode]]:

Sometimes after trying to load videos, Firefox will not finish loading and will not load any website afterwards. The ONLY way to fix it is by pulling the modem for a few minutes.

When I try to load videos, there is a good chance the video will randomly stop loading, and nothing is accessible until I turn off the modem. Restarting my computer, clearing my browser cache, cookies, etc. None of that works. I've had "slightly" better luck immediately pausing a video and letting it buffer entirely, but that still doesn't work all the time. Surfing has just become a gamble until I just get frustrated.

That was probably caused by your Firewall blocking the newly installed version of Firefox.
No known security issues with Firefox 3.6.17, which was just released this past week.

Firefox will not load ANY websites

When I open Firefox and IE, neither one will load ANY website entered into address bar. However Google Chrome will. So I know that the Internet Connection is fine. Not sure what else to do.

If you aren't able to connect in Firefox, but can connect with other programs, the most common cause is a firewall. See [[Firewalls]] for instructions on configuring firewalls. (Make sure you configure all firewalls that are installed)
Another possibility is that you are in offline mode. Make sure "Work offline" in the File menu is ''unchecked''.

Safari will not load any website

Hi all
Safari (7.0.2) stopped working on my MacBook pro. It won't load any website, but Firefox works fine!
I have tried resetting safari, but it did not help me.
Just stops as shown below.

1. Power cycle
     Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
     Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly.
     It will take a   while.
     Restart the computer.
2. Turn off Extensions, if any
     Safari > Preferences > Extensions

Firefox will not load any websites, continues to say "Problem Loading Page". However I have a full internet connection and Internet Explorer works.

I also tried to uninstall and reinstall multiple times and Firefox will still not load pages.

I get a "URL is invalid and cannot be loaded" message, and will not load any web pages

I use Firefox to get onto the internet but when the Firefox page comes up I get a small pop up on the screen that says "URL is not valid and cannot be loaded". Firefox will not load any websites at all

I have been using Firefox for more than awhile, as IE 10 would not work for me, but a few days ago Firefox stopped working all together. I will click Firefox and all that happens is it loads a New Tab, and it has a blank page with no web address. If i type in a web address, it 'loads' for a split second and still is a blank page. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and did not work. I have also reset Firefox, and nothing happens except i get a pointless toolbar back. I do not have Chrome, but IE is working fine for me as i have downgraded to IE 9. I do prefer Firefox though, as it is a bit faster and more simply organized. Firefox will not load any website, it just tries until it times out, is there a security setting either inside or outside of Firefox that might be causing this to happen?

Firefox was operating normally until I ran a virus scan. I have tried everything I can think of. The computer is connected to the internet because other applications are working and even updated from Microsoft are downloading. I am running XP. Everything else seems to be working as it should.

I've cleared cache, I do not use a proxy.. The problem occurs both running Firefox normally AND in safe-mode.. As I said earlier in this thread, this laptop is used almost exclusively at starbucks/mcdonalds hotspots.. One thing I've noticed is that when I'm at a starbucks which has google wifi vs the old attwifi, I often do not get any "splashpage", and am immediately connected to the internet, in which case FF comes up perfectly normally, and I don't have to use Chrome to "check the box"... Its pretty darned annoying.. Since this occurs in safe-mode, where, as I understand it, there are NO addins loaded, this has got to be FF itself demanding access to the internet prior to it fully starting.. As I also said earlier, when I start FF just after booting the system, I see FF as a zombie process when I do a "ps -xua" (this is Debian/testing/64bit). Once I have internet access, apparently that zombie process becomes non-zombie (is that even possible??)

IMovie says waiting and will not load

I have just bought imovie from the App Store - but it doesn't seem to be loading, it just says 'waiting', it won't allow me to press the 'install' button, as it is greyed out.
I have rebooted a couple of times, but still the same problem.
I'm running OS X Yosemite V 10.10.1 on my iMac 4GB Memory.
I'm at a loss, so have turned to the very helpful Apple Nation for some help.

Firefox will not load any website that i go to. i cannot even get to my home page, i have to access this page from internet explorer. i have tried to to reinstall firefox and restart the computer but nothing is working also i don't know if this is the same problem but firefox seems to get stuck looking for updates for the addons that i have. if you need more info from please let me know. if you could please help it would be most appreciated.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.
