The first track on an album sounds fuzzy, why?

Well, I bought a CD today to import into iTunes and it all worked fine but the first track sounds all fuzzy and crackly. I have windows 8 and heavn't found any way to correct this, please help.

I had this problem too, and for a long time it aggravated me. I found that you just have to keep importing the cd, again and again, until it sounds ok. Select only the tracks that are fuzzy to speed things up. Hope this helps.

  • ITunes is missing the first track of most albums

For some time now, iTunes has been losing the first track of my albums and playlists. Not all of them, but many. I can't figure out a pattern...digital downloads, CD uploads, everything. There are a bunch of Track 1s for unknown albums listed in my Library, but when I click to listen, the files cannot be found. Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

I think iTunes is screwing up the headers on some files. There's a free download called "MP3 Scan+Repair" that fixed mine. You'll have to quit iTunes, delete the library file, process your mp3s through that scan+repair utility and then re-add your mp3s.

  • Why does the first track on an album appear after the other tracks?

    When I downloaded iTunes and did an initial media scan, it added all my music files. However, on some of the albums added, not all, the first track is listed after the other tracks. For instance, the track list goes from 2-13 and then 1. This is only happening on some of my multi-disc albums, again not all, and not on the single disc albums. One of the tracks on Disc 2 actually appears on Disc 2 but has Disc 1 written above it. I am running the latest version of iTunes on Windows 7 Home Premium edition, and everything else seems to work fine. This is what I've tried on my own so far, all without success;
1.) I've checked the track 1 properties using "get info" and compared them to other tracks. They seem fine.
2.) I've deleted the track 1 songs and re-added them, but they return the same way.
3.) I've deleted the entire albums and re-added them, but the problem remains.
Does anyone have any ideas about what's causing this bit of weirdness?

  • I have an Apple ipod that gets stuck on the first track of every album, can you help please?

I have an Apple Ipod model MC 688. My problem is that every track played 'sticks' , if I forward it sticks on the next track, just plays the same one over and over.
Very frustrating, can you help please?

Do you mean the same song repeats? If so, turn off the repeat (1) song feature.

  • Why won't iTunes continue to the next track in an album?

    Hello.
After recently updating to iTunes 5.2 on my primary computer (a 1.5 GHz. 15-inch PowerBook G4 running Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard)), iTunes will not continue to the next song in an album once a song is finished. In "Album" view, for instance, if I mouse over an album and click "Play Album," iTunes will play the first track on that album, but then will not proceed to play the next track once the first track is finished playing. What's interesting is that I also cannot click the "Next" button (>>) in the upper left-hand corner of the iTunes window and have iTunes play the next track. If I do press the "Next" button, iTunes will instantly stop all music playback and deselect the highlighted abum (if any).
I have tried rebooting my computer and relaunching iTunes multiple times, but all trials have failed to solve the issue. In addition to restarting my computer, I have also tried reinstalling the iTunes application, but again with no luck.
I've looked through the "Preferences" menu (iTunes - Preferences) and have experimented with some of the vaious settings, but have also failed to find a solution.
In addition to my PowerBook, I have iTunes 10.5.2 running on my MacBook without any issues. The PowerPC archetecture of my PowerBook should not have anything to deal with it, should it?
Any help, suggestions, or comments regarding the issue would be greatly appreaciated.
    Thank you very much.

Okay, I figured out what the problem was. I had to "check" the checkboxes along the left-hand-side of of the track names. iTunes now plays through all of the tracks like it should. :-)

  • I just bought a new album in itunes and accidently deleted the first track. when i go to redownload it from my cloud or purchases it tells me that the item cant be redownloaded on this device for 90 days?

i have two itunes accounts but i only use one to buy music. while on the account that i use for music, i bought a new album last night. i bought the album with my 5th gen ipod. after the album was done downloading i accidently side swiped over the first track and deleted it. when i went back to redownload the track the message "this computer is already associated with an apple id. you can download past purchases on this computer with just one apple id every 90 days. this computer can be used with a different apple id in 81 days." i do not understand why i cant redownload something i just purchased. please help.

Unfrotunately, this sounds like a dead TC.
    - also, the picture does NOT pick up the 2 airport expressess in the house that I used to extend the wirelass network on the previous TC
    - there is no option to extend the wireless network
You need to reconfigure the Expresses to rejoin the TC's network via a factory reset.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • IPod Touch skips (jumps to the end of) the first track. Bug?

    Hello,
I'm experiencing the following problem with my iPod Touch and was unable to find any information about similar cases in different forums:
I have several Audible.de audiobooks on my iPod that are by default listed under "audiobooks". Recently I noticed that sometimes my Touch would jump over the first track of a music album when I would start playing the first song, directly jumping to the end of the track and starting to play the second (while the status dot stays at the end of track 1 for a while). It looks as if I had fast forwarded to the very end of the first track - and it happens with the first track only.
I've removed all the music and books from my Touch and moved it back using iTunes, but this didn't help for long. If I completely turn off the Touch and turn it back on, the problem is solved for a moment. I kept asking myself why the problem would reoccur and it seems to me that it has to do with the audiobooks I'm listening to often. I tried the following:
    1. Switched off and on. Listened to music without any title jumping problem.
    2. Opened an audiobook and listened to it for a few seconds.
    3. Went back to music (any album) - the Touch jumps over the first track.
This leads me to believe that listening to audiobooks (maybe just audible audiobooks) creates this problem.
I also found out that after starting to play the first track (which gets immediately jumped over or, more exactly, to its very end), I can "heal" the Touch (until I listen to an audiobook again) by pressing Pause, then the back arrow twice so that I jump to the beginning of the first track, then back to the album cover and track list. After that, I can listen to music as long as I want to without any skipping or jumping, as long as I don't play an audiobook.
To me, this sounds like a bug, but I can't tell if Audible or Apple is to blame. Besides, I don't see an easy way to contact Apple about a bug that might be related to their OS, which I find upsetting (they hide their contact adresses so well that you can't tell them about bugs in their own software, or you have to pay for expensive calls?).
Maybe someone knows what to do or has already heard about a similar problem. I try to circumvent a complete reset of my iPod, as I have lots of apps that are arranged into many different groups. I'd prefer not to sort all of them again, but if resetting the iPod seems to be the only possible solution, I would try that of course. Of course I'd appreciate if someone could tell me how to fix this or whom to contact about it.
Thanks (also for reading this long description),
    Alex

    Hi MikeSpike,
Thanks for your comment! Have you tried everything to resolve it, like resetting the iPod as a new device after deleting the IPSW from your computer first? Does the error still occur?
In fact, I cannot reproduce the problem using podcasts (they work fine for me, as far as I can tell there's no effect between podcast and music on my device), but it may very well be that the error is the same or a similar one (this would be for Apple to investigate, I'll forward parts of your comment to the Apple Advisor taking care of my case, if you agree).
Yes, it is the first track. Although I had one rare occasion where only track 2 was skipped and another one where tracks it happened to tracks 1 and 2 (no shuffle, no remember position activated), the highly reproducible issue touches track # 1 only.
Thanks for precising that you're using a BT headset. Could you please tell me which one, in case that matters? Has your iPod sometimes reacted weirdly when you used your BT headset to remote control the iPod, for instance skipping more titles than you wanted when you pressed "forward"? This is kind of what happened to me on my iPad and since then I've noticed the error appear on the iPad too.
Regarding your other issues, I cannot confirm the podcast problem where a podcast starts at some random point. Podcast seem to work fine in my case, but maybe all of this is caused by one and the same error. Let's hope Apple will find it all and fix it in an update asap.
Also, I don't have the artwork problem where an album displays artwork from a different album. I have had a case where a few tracks of one specific album (and just that one) were not displaying the artwork at all, although everything was properly tagged using the software MP3Tag. If you haven't reset your iPod (as a new device, not from the backup), maybe this would at least resolve some of your problems?
While my problem is just annoying for people like me who simply want their new device to work without any errors (even if there's an easy temporary fix or workaround to these errors so that I could live with it), your errors sum up to a nuisance that makes it hard to enjoy using the device. Having wrong artwork displayed with albums (or none at all) and podcasts being played at random positions is certainly not what you'd expect from such an expensive device.
Have you thought of contacting Apple about it? Not only might they have a solution for your specific problems, but it might also be more convincing if more people would independently report the first-track-skipping-issue we're all experiencing! What they need to know is that the bug is global, not just a corner case, and that it seems to be somehow related to their iOS. They couldn't afford ignoring it if several people would complain about this, especially now that a new iOS beta is already out!
Maybe some other users who read this thread have made similar experiences without paying attention to it? To all other forum users: would you please try if you notice anything weird like first tracks being skipped, either music or podcast? Maybe related to audiobook listening, maybe related to BT headset use? I'd be happy to forward any observation to Apple (to the existing issue case number) in order to better convince Apple to investigate this - asap.
Thanks again, MikeSpike, of course I will keep you all updated if I hear back from Apple!

  • ITunes will only play first track from an album!

    Hi all
Have recently upgraded to iTunes 9.2 and it's broken!! For some unknown reason when double clicking on an album in my library, unlike in old iTunes the whole album would play, it now only plays the first track then stops. It will play all the tracks, but I have to keep selecting the next track to play. I want the old, fully working and polished iTunes I'm used to, not this half baked ill thought & rushed out alleged "upgrade"
Any help or advise would be gratefully appreciated.

Have the tracks become unchecked? iTunes will skip unchecked tracks, so if they're all unchecked, iTunes will play one and then stop. If this is indeed the case, re-checkmark the tracks - control-click on any checkbox will select or unselect them all - and you should then have continuous playback.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I stop my itunes sticking on the first track and playing it over and over?

My itunes starts playing the first track but then repeats it over and over until I move it on manually. How can I stop this happening?

  • Why does CD Burning in iTunes 10.6 hang my system on the first track?

I have iTunes 10.6.3.25 running on Windows 7.
When I try to burn a playlist to a CD iTunes hangs on the first track.
To stop the hang I have to shutdown my computer and unplug the external LG super multi-blue writer (BE06LU10)
This used to work in previous version of iTunes.
There is nothing wrong with my CD drive or OS since I am able to burn a CD using Power2Go software on the same system.
It is more convenient to use iTunes since that is where my playlists are stored.

Well unplugging the power to the external optical drive breaks the iTunes hang-up without having to re-boot.
My question is why itunes consistently hangs while trying to write the first track to the CD?
I deleted iTunes and re-installed but to no affect.
I can burn CD with other software on my system so this must be an iTunes bug that needs to be fixed my Apple. Meanwhile, I will use other software.

  • I moved my iTunes Library and now the first track of most CDs is missing. Why? What can I do?

I have moved my iTunes library several times. Sometimes to free up space on the main drive, I have moved the library to an external drive. I have also moved the library when changing drives and changing computers. I find that most of the CDs I have imported into iTunes in the past are now missing the first track. It shows the sign, but I haven't been able to locate them. In many cases, I have given the CDs themselves away and so I have no easy way of re-importing the tracks. Why does iTunes do this? Is there something I can do in the future to prevent this from happening? It gets rather tedious to go through hundreds of CD and locate a single track for each one after upgrading a drive or the computer. HELP?

What process did you use for moving the library?
I have noticed iTunes on rare occasions loses files.  Don't know why.  Keep back ups.  Before updating a backup run a script such as Dougscript List MIAs so you can make sure you aren't deleting your only copy should one get lost from your main drive.
You might want to note that it is a mistake giving away the CDs.  When you no longer posess the CD you relinquish the right to keep a copy of the music. Also, as you are finding, you no longer have a backup source for the music.
