The Flashing `BATTERY` Icon

Question: According to the nano users` manual, it says that if my iPod is connected to my computer for charging purposes, my screen should display either a large lightning bolt icon (if charging) or a plug icon (if fully charged).
However, when charging my new nano using my laptop USB port, this large icon that is presented in the manual is nowhere to be seen. Instead, all I see is the `Do Not Disconnect` prompt and the battery icon in the top right corner.
This smaller battery icon does show either the bolt or the plug, and the iPod itself does seem to charge fine, but I`m just wondering if I`m doing something wrong since I`m being warned not to disconnect (even after fully charged).
Also, does anyone own the USB Charger Adapter? I can`t seem to find one anywhere. I live in Tokyo and none of the stores here seem to stock them.
Peace,
Marty

ROFL.........the display on the screen while the nano is connected to an ON computer is big only when the nano is OFF and the nano is connected only electrically and getting charged, so you can disconnect the usb cable just like u do in any electrical device.
And it shows the "do not disconnect" message when the nano is ON and connected as a USB device and actually communicating with your computer. So you cannot disconnect it simply by pulling out the connector, and instead you have to either eject it from itunes eject command, or by the safely remove device function of your windows.

    please?

WHow long have you left it to charge?  Have you tried resetting it after a short period of time to see if that can help jumpstart the charging process? To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • What to do if upon charging after a few minutes it shows the plug symbol on battery but the green battery icon on the main screen is still half?

what to do if upon charging after a few minutes it shows the plug symbol on battery but the green battery icon on the main screen is still half?

One of two things usually. Less often charger is faulty, try another charger. Most often the plug symbol in this situation indicates faulty battery.
Try a Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off" let iPhone restart itself.

How can I restore the large battery icon on my ipad2?  It has disappeard and does not appear when I charge my ipad.

It only shows when you turn on your iPad. The moment you slide from left to right it'll disappear.
    Note: Charger must be connected.

  • My iphone battery has ran out and wont charge all i see is the red battery icon , what shall i do?

my iPhone 4 was working fine then the battery died as it normally would and now iv tried to charge it and it will not charge all it shows on the screen is the red battery icon i left the phone to charge so it can turn on by its self for about 30-1 hr but still didn't come on, then i thought the problem was probably the charger so i switched chargers to a much newer one but still no sign of it coming on, what should i do?

Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears (10-15 seconds).

  • .swf imported in Flash Catalyst shows only the Flash Shockwave icon

I have scoured the FC forums and watched all of the Adobe TV episodes
on importing .swf files into Flash Catalyst but I am still faced with the following problem.
I have a basic animated .swf file that I created in Flash CS5.  I am trying to import that .swf file into a Flash Catalyst project but when I do I only see the blue border around the asset when I click it in the layers panel.  In the top left corner is a small round Flash Icon ( I believe it is the Flash Shockwave version - Blueish Gray). Nothing shows when I "Run" the project nor when I added the .swf file in the local folder from where Flash Catalyst runs the project.
I tried re-publishing the original Flash file in different version of Flash player, but to no avail.  Not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if I have imported incorrectly or what.
Even though I cannot see the .swf file imported into Flash Catalyst, I still tried to add an interaction to play on Application Start, but nothing there either.
At a loss and looking for some direction.
Thanks in advance for your response.
    Cheers!

    Erik -
It's a  pleasure to help someone!  I just got through this as you can see.  Only problem is I just hacked it with no precision, so for example I moved a lot of files to the server to make them accessable and then it played.  But near as I can tell, I'll tell you the story.
There are two things going on.  When you play it locally it's different from when you play it on the web. You are correct, you should see the first frame of the swf  in your animation.  To get it to play (assuming it is set to play)you  then have to control+enter to preview (on windows). The assests are laid out locally in the file structure displayed in the url bar.  no?
Part of it is that there may be several things going on here... All I can do is tell you all the numerous problems I had, made worse because I had 3 different work-stations...
I had problems when I had several swfs floating around in the  library and I think similar names: Eventually I just did a clean export  of the swf (the first one was from Flash... 3?  4?  and Catalyst is  cs5... )  and such to just do the work-flow in one motion.  I had too  many work-stations going on. So that part I finally did cleanly, and when that was settled, I could handle the file issues.
The swf: It does have to be in the same folder, and not in a sub-folder.  Also, all the contents from DEPLOY TO WEB - just drag it into your site folder defined by dreamweaver or whatever and put it on the server at the same level, NO russian dolls (no file folders within folders).  With Dreamweaver, when you upload a swf, you select the MAIN file and supposedly DW pulls files - it does, but not all of them, such as supporting swfs.
I would have thought that DW would do it correctly automatically : It seems to want to: but there are still kinks.
If you're like me, you recognize that catalyst is a powerful creative stage, but this stuff is just annoying and really easier just man-handled with precision once and forgotten about lol.
I heard also some grumbling on swfs that are just too huge or have aspects that don't import well, but it doesnt' sound like a problem in this case.
Do update me  - I'm around this weekend, would love to see you succeed on this.
    Cache,
Thanks for your replies. I have put the .swf file in the  same "local" directory as the main.html for the FC Project I am working  on and no luck locally. However, does the .swf file have to be in the  local directory of the FC project prior to it being imported into FC for  it to work locally?
Also, when I was watching a video  tutorial about inserting .swf files into FC, the graphics/content of the  .swf that was inserted could be seen in the design view of FC. My  imported .swf only shows a small, round flash icon in the corner and  nothing else.  This doesn't seem right to me. Shouldn't one be able to  see the graphics/content of the imported .swf so that  it can be  properly placed in the design? That is how it was in the video tutorial.  If this is also due to the location of the imported .swf then Adobe has  not made that clear in anything I have read or seen.

  • HT4060 Are you supposed to see the green battery icon on the ipad 4's lock screen while charging?

I've seen it on other apple devices, but not on mine. Is that normal? I would like to be able to see it.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
As far as I know, iPads don't show the battery icon while it's being charged. It just only shows for a few seconds when you plug it to the charger, but then it disappears and you can only see your battery icon at the top right of the screen

  • HT1310 Even when holding down the option key during the restart, I can't get the flashing file icon to go away

I have tried numerous times to restart my macbook pro to get to the startup manager. And even when holding down the option key, it will just take me back to the flashing file with a question mark in it. If anyone can help, I'd sincerely appreciate it.

Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • My iPad 2 doesn't show the green battery icon when charging.

when i charge the ipad2 i see that it is charging on the top right symbol
i do not see the big green battery like on the iphone.
Why is there no big green battery on the opening screen when i wakeup the ipad2?

That feature doesn't show on the iPad2. I only have the symbol in the upper corner as well. You can buy a batter app that when used will show the battery upon wake up.

  • My iPad wont turn on and shows the charging battery icon even though the battery is charged

    Any ideas?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • Battery icons arnt the same

on my 7th gen ipod classic at the top of the screen the green battery icon doesnt change to show how much battery i have left but when the ipod screen dims while listenin to music and the other battery icon comes up in the middle of the screen it shows how much actual battery i have left. what can i do to get the 2 icons in sync???

    Howdy Red9654,
From what you describe I believe this to be a software issue. In light of that, I recommend a few troubleshooting steps.
First restart the iPod and test again. If the issue persists then reset the iPod.
    Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If that does not resolve the issue I would recommend restoring the iPod with iTunes.

  • Flashing folder icon with a (?) in the middle. Can I save my mac?

This happend a few months ago and I have just recently purchased a new 2012 Intel iMac but still have my old one laying around and it would be nice to have the two of them working together.
It's a 2006 Intel iMac, I had to force a restart by holding down the power button. When it booted up is when I saw the flashing folder icon witth the (?) in the middle.
I started up the computer with the install disk for OSX Leopard and held down whatever button it was to bring up the menu to install the OS. I got to the point where you're asked to select the HDD location but there's nothing there to indicate there's a HDD to select. If it can't see the HDD does that mean the HDD is dead?
If the computer doesn't see the HDD and or if the HDD is not dead, is there anyway to recover the data from it? I suspect I already know the answer to this and no, I do not have a back up. Now, if there is no way to recover the data and the HDD is dead, can I get the HDD replaced?

... I got to the point where you're asked to select the HDD location but there's nothing there to indicate there's a HDD to select. If it can't see the HDD does that mean the HDD is dead?
    Most likely, yes.
You may be able to extract its data by removing the HDD and installing it in an external enclosure, but if the Mac does not even detect a hard disk it is likely to be completely inoperative, as in mechanically damaged.
Hard disks can be replaced by Apple for $400 or so, much less if you do it yourself.

  • Battery icon on the lock screen not showing up

I used to get the large battery icon when the phone was plugged in and I woke it up. Now, no icon and I always see my wallpaper, even when the phone is plugged in. I've done a reset, charged with wifi off, airplane mode on, etc. Any ideas what is happening? It seemed to charge fine before and now it doesn't seem to be charging at all. I am using the wall charger.

Just a quick update in case anyone else is having any similar issues with the wall charger. I took the apparently dead charger back to the apple store, they tested it on their phones and it was dead. Gave me a new one and off I went! Love the service ( just wish the Apple store wasn't a 45 minute drive from my house) and totally love the phone! BTW, this is the first and only issue I've had with the phone.
