The forward and back buttons in firefox 4 beta 7 dont work after trying to customize and the bookmarks button only shows when customizing
after installing firefox 4 beta 7 any customization of navigation bar breaks the forward and back a page buttons they stop working and and restoring the default buttons option it still doesn't work even in the safe mode and the text in menu buttons looks glassy
What I found was that anytime I installed one of the beta's, as soon as I tried to customize the bars and hit the "small icons" checkbox from customize that I would no longer be able to have the round shaped foward back buttons but only square (rectangle) small buttons.
To get those round ones back, but never again to the right of the "File - Edit - etc" bar, all I did was move all the buttons down to the navigation or another bar below as I have the space.
The problem still occurs that anytime I attempt to put them back up top beside the file etc options they go back to those small rectangle buttons :(

Running Win 7 Home Premium. When I upgraded to Firefox 23.0.1, the Bookmarks Toolbar no longer shows my bookmarks which are in Bookmarks Toolbar but shows open tabs. If I uncheck "View Bookmarks Toolbar" the blank toolbar disappears, open tabs stay in there position. If I recheck "View Bookmarks Toolbar" a blank toolbar reopens but open tabs are on the toolbar. I tried to move a bookmark to the toolbar but all it does is open a tab of the location of the bookmark I tried to position on the toolbar.

Back button only works about 50% of the time. Have to hit it twice, sometimes three times before it works. Problem is intermittent. Firefox 3.6.10 on Mac OS 10.6.4 (same on both MacBook and iMac machines).

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.
First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on. -
Can't use the forward or back buttons on click wheel
My mini was working fine until a couple of weeks ago, now I can't use the forward or back button - if I hit it, it just goes to the previous menu. The Menu and Select buttons work fine, as does the scroll function of the click wheel. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

In the previous version of Firefox, I could go back to a previous webpage by clicking on a part of the Back button which brought up a list of recently visited sites, and by clicking one of these, could jump straight back to that page. This facility does not seem to be available in the latest Firefox, and the Back button only goes back one page at a time. This is really inconvenient, as,
it now takes longer to get to an earlier page
there is no visibility of previous pages visited
any actions carried out on webpages are undone when going back through them - this does not happen when jumping back several pages in one go.
This is a real problem as I used to the old system constantly, and cannot continue to use Firefox 4.0 unless there is a way around it.For me, I have the same question, this is a poorly done upgrade and I want to go back to 3.6

I opened my computer and the whole top only shows web search, I can not find my bookmarks and I tried reloading firefox and still nothing but tab bar. Tried f10, alt, nothing! Can I reload an old firefox? There is no firefox logo at top. When I rt click at top I see hide toolbar and leave full screen. To the right there is only a home sign. How can I get my BOOKMARKS ??????? To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.

I have lost sound on my iPad in apps unless I use headphones ,does anyone know how to get sound back without them .I have used the mute volume on the bar at bottom of screen and the slider volume control there only shows when headphones are plugged in !

The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x? -

Using Firefox 3.6.20 and Windows XP Home SP3. Firefox sporatically deletes bookmarks from the bookmarks toolbar. Additionally, when I try to import from a saved HTML file, Firefox does not import the complete file. Results are inconsistent.
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Search Bar : "Go button only appears when text in the bar"
With the new update they have made it so that the "Search" button in the "Search bar" only appears when there is text on it.
While probably a minor (in)convinence for most, it had become a browsing habit for me, to middle mouse click the search in an empty search to take me to "google.com" in a new tab (or whatever search engine was set).
I would like to know if its possible to tweak something in order to bring back the search button so it stays there.
I know there is easy workarounds for this (bookmark comes to mind), but having browsed like this for many years I would like to continue doing so if possible.

When the bar is empty, the code that generates the little image of the arrow has a new attribute set, which is hidden="true". There is a corresponding style rule to suppress the arrow when hidden="true". You can use a custom style rule to override the built-in rules, and apply it to the interface using either:
* Stylish extension ([https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/stylish/])
* userChrome.css file ([http://kb.mozillazine.org/userChrome.css])

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
