The "gig" is not up. IMHO the problem is with software, not hardware

There very well could be a few iPhones that have hardware problems but my opinion / findings say it is sofrtware rather than hardware.
Case in point. I have owned my iPod Touch (32 GB) for over 6 months now and have had no problems with it until I installed 2.0 software. The problem got even worse on the Touch when I upgraded to 2.0.1. The problem was freezing up which required a special rest proceedure and a complete restore. I had the same problem with not one but two iPhone 3G's (I returned the first one). Same scenario. Speical reset and complete restore solved the problem. I have now had no problems except for a little instability (such as slow keyboard from time to time) for the past 4 days. Bear in mind this is on BOTH the iPOd Touch AND the iPhone 3G. ONe would think that if the problem was with hardware that the problem would not be with both the iPhone 3G AND the iPOd Touch.
Would love to hear the opinions of others.

If your question is "Is the 2.0/2.01 software buggier/slower/flakier than the 1.0/1.1/etc. software for iPhone/iPod Touch", then the answer is of course SMS typing slows down on occasion now, weird pauses, freezes etc. are all new to 2.0/2.01.
This doesn't mean that the iPhone 3G hardware isn't possibly flawed as well-that still hasn't been answered. But its pretty common knowledge (I think) that 2.0/2.01 is much less stable than the 1.0 OS. (on the flip side, look at all the new stuff we get to play with in 2.0/2.01 )

when you install the disc, do it with the machine powered off. Place the disc in the the slot, push it in while holding the power switch tp poer it up, while holding the "C" key down till the gear starts spinning. After the gear starts spinning you can release the C key and wait. This takes much longer than normal longer, then create a new account. Be ready to wait.

On the Wall Street Journal website, I am not able to print out of the print format. Never had a problem before with this.

I click on the print icon under an article in the Wall Street Journal. A new window opens with the article in print format. When I print, I get blank paginated pages equaling the length of the article. On the top left hand corner of the page will appear the title of the article; on the top right hand corner will appear the web address of the article; on the bottom left hand corner will appear the pagination; and on the bottom right hand corner will be the date and time of the printing. This is just how any article would print; the only difference being that I'm not getting the content of the article printed.
This has only started a couple of days ago. I do not have this issue with any other publication, yet this problem doesn't exist with other browsers.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
This will open a window listing the site's cookies, which you can remove individually.
Then try reloading the page and logging back in. Does that help?

I have Lync 2013 and 2010 , still i didn't finish my migration completely from 2010 to 2013 .this is coexistence environment that contains both Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013 .
There was no error's in my lync 2013 front end and back end server's and every thing was fine, yesterday I installed windows updated AND CU for my lync 2013 front end and backend server's .
later on after restarting both the front end and the back end server's i start having hundred's of these error's related to "LS Call Park Service".
so any advice for these issue ? and what is the effect for these error .

Is the Gig version really faster than the 100m version !?

I just upgraded my 100 meg AEBS to the new Gig version, and ran a quick n easy benchmark, an rsync -e ssh on a 150 meg file. The server is an iMac connected via gig-e, and the Macbook c2d is connected via 802.11n (reporting a consistant 300 mbps in network utility - about 20 feet from the router, going through 2-4 sheets of drywall). The tests were conducted in my Chicago apartment, with at least 10 detectable 2.4gHz networks, and no 5.8gHz networks that I know of.
The 802.11n 5.8gHz no backwards compatibility was by far the fastest. The fastest test I ran was 11 MBps on the copy, with 802.11a compatibility I believe was around 8, and 2.4ghz + 802.11g compatibility was around 6. I repeated all tests a few times, the results were pretty consistant.
These results suprised me, as I was really hoping for a bit faster. I could get 40 MBps on my Linux file server over gig-e to the iMac in previous tests. Unfortunately that machine is down until I get some replacement parts, so I couldn't use it to test the new AEBS. But I seem to remember getting 11 or 12 MBps with the Linux file server over the old AEBS with 100m and 5.8gHz no backwards compatiblity.
So how much of the performance non-difference is due to the iMac vs Linux file server, or the Gig-E version being no faster than the 100 meg version remains to be seen. I'm curious if anyone else has done tests.
If the router, or this 802.11n implementation is the bottleneck - folks may not want to waste their money upgrading, unless they really want that 4 port (in bridge mode) gig-e switch on the back.

That is somewhat counterintuitive, as the 802.11n connection speed is reportedly 300 mbps. I understand the implications of protocol overhead, but 70% overhead seems a bit excessive. I guess I'm curious if the bottleneck is:
- in the router backplane
- in the 802.11n protocol
- in apples implementation of 802.11(draft)n
Also - anyone else have actual benchmark data to share?

I'm trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro. I went through the process of bootcamp telling it to install windows 7. Once the windows boot manager started an error message came up. The error message says " windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. I don't have a usb connected to my computer. I am using windows 7 professional install disc. I can't figure out what i am doing wrong. The same message keeps coming up over and over. Am I doing something wrong or is it something else?

Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.
"P-ram" stores some common information that is used in the background, your date, time, startup disk, etc, that you don't have to re-fill when you restart, it's a little different for each computer.

Spry IE6 Problem - Items with dropdown not visable until you hover

I added a spry vertical drop down menu to my site http://www.capitalareamodellers.ca/
It works perfectly in IE7 and 8 as well as firefox, safari, chrome & opera,
But when it is displayed in IE 6, each menu item that has a drop down associated with it is not visable until you hover over it.
I'm at a loss as to why :-(
unfotunately - almost 30% of the users of teh site are still using IE6

Mail: "connection failed", problem associated with software update

When I attempt to get mail, I frequently get a symbol on the side panel of an encircled triangle enclosing an exclamation point. If I click on the symbol, I get a message that says (condensed): “connection failed, check settings for your POP account, server error encountered, connection timed out on port 0, do you want to stay offline or go online.” If I click go online, the usual spinning circle appears and then sometimes I get my mail. Sometimes I have to repeat the process several times before I get mail. I am, of course, always online; the connection has never failed. This problem started some time ago after I updated Apple software. I called my ISP and they made a few changes in my mail preferences, but that didn't help. I used disc utility to repair disc permissions and that helped but (strangely enough) only for a few days. This problem was discussed several years ago in message #1724339 but nobody could solve it. check out the "Nokia 808 Belle FP1 bug: WLAN works, but not all ap..." thread. Looks like you are having the same issue, and there's quite some info on this issue in that thread. The issue must be related to Symbian Belle somehow, since Anna and S60v5 are reported to perform well under the same conditions.

IPAd saying not recognising server, won't sync with phone, not let me apps???

Ok so I have been travelling South America for 3 months. In the first 6?weeks my iPAd and I phone were syncing and working well. When I updated my phone and iPad to the 7.o2 my iPad started asking for my apple account which then was coming up incorrect. I reset this, but nothing came to my nail. I answered the questions, but it still wasn't recognising the password. My photos weren't syncing anymore, I'm not able to access iTunes or apps. When I try to log onto Facebook from Safari, it comes up weird and in a list of normal writing. My iPad says it does not recognise the server.
Everything is working well on my iPhone, but really need my iPad for travelling essentials which is the reason I bought it. Downloading books, music ,games , photos to fb etc.
Can someone please help?? I've tried resetting the iPad, but nothing. My email address is my id so this is only used.
There is no email address for apple support and only a number which would cost a bit from Peru

You can try resetting your iPad and iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

Problems Communicating with non-NI hardware which previously worked!

I am currently carrying out a project with which I am using LabVIEW 7.1 involving communication with a non-NI board. This has proved succesful until I moved the system to another desk, (which had already been done a couple of times with no problems) and now I have moved it to its origional location. The system components have not changed, and the VI has not changed but now when I run the programme the error 'Error -1073807346 occurred at VISA Open in without graph2(backup4)..vi' with the possible reason given as 'VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF000E) The given session or object reference is invalid'. I am insure what the problem may be, and have checked all connection leads, and ensured that the interface card is still securely fixed in the PC!

So I redid my computer meaning that I am in the process of reinstalling everythign from the OS down. Previously, with Mediasource for my Audigy 2 Platinum and my Muvo N200, I had all kinds of things that install and were helpful. Heck, I can not even go through the setup for the speakers, although they do work fine, but there is no fine tuning. My version of "Go" is 3.0.5 and my version of Mediasource is 3.30.2. These seem to be the most current versions. I also went through the auto update utility to ensure I had all updated and correctly. But unlike what is seen in the pics below, I used to have a bunch more products shown. Also, the console looked much different, better infact. The layout for the EAX controls and the sound environments was better than what this console has. Did I load the wrong stuff or what am I doing wrong here? I also do not have all of the options in mediasource like it seems like I should. A big one is the import option. No where to be found .Can anyone here please help me? I provided pics below to show what I have and what it looks like. If I can provide more info, then please let me know. Again, currently I have the Audigy 2 Platinum (this is the one with the audio PCI card and then the front control with the remote control) and also the Muvo N200. I should also add that I had to install all of this via the support downloads page because my CD that came with all of this is in storage way in the back and is not accessible. Am thinking that if I had had that CD, I may have gotten it right. But alas, I had to improvise and go this route. So any ideas? Thanks much.

ITunes 11.1 for Windows 64 bit not downloading, says a problem occurred with the installer.

iTunes starts to download and the pop-up asking to allow Apple Inc. to make changes to the hardrive comes up but the installer then says "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. Errors occured during installation. Your system has not been modified. Please run the installer again, or click Finish to exit."
I have tried using different web browsers to install it, all with the same error message. Anyone know how to fix this please?
