The glass screen wobbles?!

Hey guys, I have another problem!
I'm currently on my third iPhone 3g (white).
When I was given my third iPhone in the Apple Store, I instantly noticed it felt different. I was pretty sure it was a refurb, I have no problem with that, but I felt that the casing wasn't on right. The camera wasn't flush to the back, it stuck out, and so did the headphone jack. I thought I could get used to that, so I just left it, but recently I noticed that the screen moves when pressed in the top left corner, and on the bottom right corner below the screen, funny marks have appeared, like chips beneath the screen.
I look after my iPhone very well, I never drop it, but I get loads of problems. I was wondering whether anyone would know whether Apple would let me trade it in, to cancel this ridiculous termination fee for my O2 contract, and let me pay for a 3G S. I know it's unlikely, but I need a reliable phone for when I go on holiday, and it is my third faulty one!
Thanks,
Will.

Take it back to the store. That is unacceptable and I feel certain they'll swap it again for you.

  • I have a 4th Gen. nano.  The screen is constantly disappearing.  It looks like a film behind the glass screen.  As it deteriorates, I can read less and less on the screen.  What is that called and can it be repaired?

I have a 4th generation nano.  The black screen behind the glass screen seems to be cracked and constantly disappearing.  It started in the corner and is working its way across the top of the screen.  The titles will disappear soon.  What do I need to have reapaired?

With the external screen connected and turned on, open the Displays pane in System Preferences. On the screen containing your menu bar, you should now see a Displays preference dialog box with an "Arrangement" tab in it. Click the Arrangement tab. Uncheck the box for "Mirror Displays," or make sure it is already unchecked. In the image within the preferences dialog box you should see two adjoining blue rectangles representing your two screens. A white bar on one representes the menu bar and indicates that that is the primary display. The larger rectangle represents your TV screen. If it's on the right side of the smaller rectangle representing your MBP's screen, then dragging a window off the right side of the built-in screen will move the window onto the TV.
Now open any application window — a web browser window, for example — and drag it by its title bar to move it off the edge of your built-in screen onto the TV screen. Got that? You can do the same thing with any other window, including a DVD Player or VLC window containing a movie that you want to watch.
Things to note: In this dual-display mode, which is called Extended Desktop mode, the menu bar and Dock will always appear on only one of the screens, and you can choose which one they appear on by dragging the white bar representing the menu bar from one rectangle to the other in the System Prefs > Displays > Arrangement tab. You can also set the resolutions of the two screens independently of each other. The highest available resolution on each screen will always provide the sharpest image.

  • New iPad..dust under the glass screen ?????

After buying the new iPad 32GB 4G from your branch here in Saudi Arabia, I was shocked to discover some dust under the glass screen. When I returned to the showroom, they refused to replace it and claimed that it is normal for all iPad products to leak in dust and is not a damage in the unit. I believe it is not acceptable at all for a SAR 3000+ devise to allow dust to come into its internal chipsets (with all the damage this might cause). I am sending this as a complaint against the local reseller with request of immediate replacement.
    Please advise

OK. Apple is not reading any of these posts for hardware issues. Nobody here works for Apple. We are other users just like you.
I am advising you to contact Apple - however you can - whereever you live - there is nothing anyone here can do to help you.

  • How do I find out if I have the plastic or the glass screen

I got my 4gb Iphone used off Craigslist and it was pretty much impeccable by the guy I purchased it from and He had it for I don't know how long.
I have the thing for a couple weeks and the bezel gets the **** scratched out of it, the aluminum back has some scratches, these don't bother me, but I dropped the phone once and get a hairline scratch on the screen about an inch long. It has this rainbow effect, it is kinda annoying, however I only really notice it in the dark on a white or light screen.
Is there anyway I can find out if I have the plastic screen versus the glass one?
And do you have any suggestions for maybe repairing the scratch?
It's shallow enough I think it could be fixed, maybe with the filler used for glasses or something.
And any suggestions for the bezel and aluminium scratches?

    sampoop,
All iPhone models have glass displays. There never were plastics displays.

  • The glass screen iPod gen 4

My glass screen iPod gen 4 has broken. I want to replace it. How much does it cost?

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Insects - crawling under the glass screen - like screen saver T400s

Some of the insects (0,5mmx 2mm) are obviously dead, but some are still crawling. Sometimes disapearing and reapearing.
Should I open the sreen and cleaning according to:

you shouldn't open the LCD screen, because you would either damage it or introduce more dusts onto the LCD glass, which are hard to remove.

  • Dust under the glass screen

Hi, I have had my iPhone 4 since Friday 18th February, yesterday the screen protector that the phone came with peeled off so i took it off and wiped it with a microfibre cloth. When I was looking at the screen I noticed a white speck under the screen when the screen was off. I then turned it on and viewed it and the speck is black. could this be dust or a dead pixel? I would like to get it replaced but I have no local apple store only a Solutions Inc premium apple reseller. Also I had ordered the phone from the online uk apple store.

The iPhone 3G & 3GS can have dust get under the screen, as the LCD screen is screwed to a frame and then that frame has the glass and digitizer glued to it. There is a small amount of space between the screen and the glass so dust can work its way in there. If the iPhone 3G/3GS is under warranty you can call Apple to see if they can either clean it or replace the screen. If the iPhone 3G/3GS is out of warranty you can still call them but there is less of a chance it will be covered.
For the iPhone 4 & original iPhone, the LCD screen is fused to the digitizer/glass assembly. This way dust can not get in there, but at the same time you are unable to replace just the glass if there is damage to the glass, which makes for a more expensive repair. If there is dust some how between the LCD and glass (which are glued together) then contact apple as the iPhone 4 is still under warranty. But if there is dust there it would have had to of been there since the iPHone 4 was new.
And no the iOS4.3 update would not add dust...

  • Has anyone tried to have their glass screen repaired on the ipod touch

I've gotten a lot of results searching for repair on the glass screen, even sites that have kits for doing it yourself, has anyone tried to have their screen repaired this way?  I know about the trade in offers, but I've seen repairs as low as $25.

Some users posted that they did it themselves successfully.
Some tried themselves and ended up not working at all afterwards.
Some had a local third-party do it and it did not work satisfactorily afer it was returned.
