The GPS is not accurate

Every time I open the map I found that the position located is very not accurate. The problem exists no matter what positioning method I used (bluetooth GPS, AGPS, integrated GPS), and they all have the same WRONG position. When I connect my N82 to a bluetooth GPS, the position is not accurate, there is an about 10 meters mistake between the position it located and the actually position. But when I connect the same bluetooth GPS to my another PDA and use the same map application, it works fine and very accurate. The inaccurate position problem just happened to my N82. Does anyone get the same problem?

Most commercially-available sat-nav systems are described in manufacturer small print as having positioning "accurate to within 20-50 metres" (different companies make different claims about the exact distance), so the statements above are correct but they aren't actually faults.
Remember also that a the a GPS system isn't connected to the same satellites all of the time, even a 12-channel system picking up between six and eight satellites on average will drop out of view of some satellites and into the range of others, so it is constantly recalculating its position from different data. If you are getting signals from less satellites, the 'jumps' become more noticable because the position is being calculated from less data.

  • When i print out a color photo the colors are not accurate

I have a new envy110 series CQ811A. I have a windows 7 64-bit laptop. There are no error messages and the Envy works great but when i print a picture off of a web site the colors are not accurate and i mean none of them. i have returned one printer already but this one is doing the same thing. i really like this printer but if it won't print the colors correctly  i don't know what i will do. I also have a HP C4280 All In One Photo Smart and whatever is printed off the colors are great it just is not wireless. I have tried everything and nothing helps. Is there a solution

    Hi easyneez5!
Sorry to hear it's not printing web pages so well.
I do have a suggestion, that may or may not align with the way your are used to printing web pages; HP has a new and improved application for printing web page content; HP Smart Print.
It's supported on IE (most versions) and can do some neat tricks: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/partner/microsoft/bing-bar-for-hp/smart-print.html
There are also other potential 'tweaks' you can try in the [Printing Preferences] / [Advanced]: Image Color Managment; You might try setting it from 'ICM Handled by Host System' (default) to 'ICM Handled by Printer' or even 'ICM Disabled'.
Again, this is merely a potential way to check to see if this helps get those colors right; and remember your settings before you change them.
      Hope this helps

  • I just purchased my Ipad 2 64g. the main reason i purchased was to use in my airplane for live gps tracking. i have downloaded the software with the moving map and the gps will not connect in the air. it works periodically while standing outside. Any sug?

I just purchased my Ipad 2 64g. The main reason I purchased was to use the gps moving map feature. I have the paid AP but the gps does not work. Do I need an auxiliarry GPS?

Is it just the wireless 64g, or the one with 3G?  If just wireless, you purchased the wrong one.  Also, if you just wanted GPS tracking, a GPS would have been a cheaper solution, no monthly charges.

  • Gps tracking not accurate even at places away from buildings and trees

The big blue circle of gps is like half a kilometer wide.....it would shrink to like 70-80 ft then again widen up.....i updated my ios to the latest....gave my phone a hard reset....but nthing worked......what could be the problem here??? could it be a hardware problem?? btw its not jailbroken and its not under any warranty or aggrement...pls help

Same problem here. My iPhone 4S was working fine until yesterday morning. I drive about 120 miles per day, and it worked on the first "leg" by the morning. When I got in the car for my way home, it didn't get any GPS signal, but when there was less than 10 miles to go it started working again. Today it didn't get any GPS signal at all. Tried a hard reset and restored from a backup, but apparently it didn't work.

  • The gps does not find satellites. Why?

I have a 8900 and my GPS has always worked perfectly.
But now finds no satellites. Do not pick up satellites in outdoor or indoor.
Do not know if it was trying to install a program for geocaching (LUCIFY).
    This program gave error certeficates.
A red cross appears in some certeficados like these: DOD CLASS 3 CA ... / ORC ECA1, ECA ROOT CA and TC TrustCenter CLASS and Verisign / RSA secure server root.
These are some certeficados that are red with a cross.
I've done wipe, I changed the OS and still not pick up satellites. Why?

Are you doing the Satellite refresh in this manner, as outlined below?
AND, have you remove the Lucify application and tried the refresh?
On all model BlackBerrys, first make certain that you in an area of good signal coverage AND outside with a clear view of the sky in an open area of no tall buildings.
For GSM network devices, do this:
Click Options > Advanced > GPS > Menu > Refresh GPS.
Give it up to 10 minutes to refresh, and try 2-3 times in a row.
    For the 9800 model:
    1. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
    2. Click Device > Location Settings.
    3. Press the Menu key > Refresh GPS.
    1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.

  • GPS does not appear to work with data-roaming off and no wi-fi network

I have been using an application called imarkmyspot to produce way-points for synchronising with my camera. When I am in my home country this works fine and a GPS location is found quickly.
I've recently been abroad and had data-roaming turned off to avoid high expense. The point is that in this situation the GPS does not work (with imarkmyspot or Goggle Maps) unless I can access an open wi-fi network.
So my question is, is this correct? Does GPS only work with either data access on or when within range of an open wi-fi network.
If this is feature (bug) of the iPhone then this makes applications such as imarkmyspot rather useless when travelling. Alternatively it could be imarkmyspot that has this problem of course. But I'm quite sure Google Maps did not work either in this situation either.

The iPhone's GPS does work without a data connection.
Two weeks ago on a work-related trip I knew I'd be traveling a rural highway that would leave me without data/voice from any source for at least 45 minutes (no GSM service). Before leaving a city with data, I zoomed out using Google Maps far enough to show most of my route, then "nudged" the map so the application wouldn't try to get a data update for the map. I simply used the top power button to turn on and off the screen. The iPhone and GMaps tracked me through for the entire blacked-out section of my trip - I made sure the device had a decent view of the sky and it got a fix and nailed the location within a few seconds.
Ironically, I'm returning that device in the next few hours for an exchange. The GPS hardware, it seems, has failed about a week ago - the device gets A-GPS fixes now (it shows the nearby 3G and EDGE towers), but won't lock in for more than a second or two. My iPhone's GPS worked, and now it doesn't - AppleCare told me my GPS hardware has failed - and you're may be exhibiting the same failure.
Some A-GPS devices use their sources to get close by - like my TomTom GO and the ephemeris files it grabs from their servers to get updates on where satellite locations are - and then use the on-board chip to nail the device's position. From what I understand of the iPhone's assistance mechanism, the data tower's and Wi-Fi physical location needs to be correct and available in an accessible database somewhere - my iPhone was showing me near Houston TX (2200 mi/3500 km distant from my actual location) when using 3G data until the data source was updated.

  • How i can activate the gps in 5800 in Egypt

    hey
the gps was not allow in egypt and it now allow
so im asking how to  activate it

Take the phone to a Nokia Care Point. If there's anything that can be done to enable the GPS in the phone (if there is one, it may have been removed altogether to comply with Egyptian law) then they'll know how to do it.

  • HT202570 iPhone map navigation are not accurate compared to the actual location

The navigation arrow is always late compared to the actual location. its late around 3 to 4 seconds and I have tried on the two different iPhones that with the same result I reset location settings I reset the phone but no luck.
does anybody have the same problem and any ideas how to resolve them?

The co-ordinates you posted are not very accurate (hopefully you edited them), there probably should be more digits after the decimal point for greater accuracy.
It seems like Apple Maps can search for Lat/Long but is unable to show it for a dropped pin. I'd suggest you get another app from the store…
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/find-my-latitude-longitude/id668745605
    https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/location+/id482094847
There are many so search around
It's also worth noting the location services doesn't just use GPS it also uses wifi & cellular towers to get a rough location in situations where GPS is not available (like indoors). GPS also takes a while to get a true lock, it can be upto 12.5 minutes because go how the satellites work. You will need to maintain a clear view of the sky for long enough to get accurate values.
Assisted GPS - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
P.S. Google maps in a desktop browser will show lat & long values, just be aware that there are different co-ordinate systems too - if things don't work make sure you are using the correct one

iphone GPS blue indicator. I find it interesting - and would be interested if anyone has any input on this - on the UK site the GPS info for iphone says this -
    Get the signal.
"In addition to A-GPS, iPhone features location technology unlike anything available on a mobile phone today. iPhone uses signals from GPS satellites, Wi-Fi hot spots and mobile towers to get the most accurate location fast. So if you’re inside — without a clear line of sight to a GPS satellite — iPhone finds you via Wi-Fi. And if you’re not in range of a Wi-Fi hot spot, iPhone finds you using mobile phone towers. On the iPhone display, the size of the circle around a location pin tells you how accurately iPhone is able to calculate a location: The smaller the circle, the more accurate the location."
On the US site it says this ------ Where has the blue GPS indicator got to?!! Compare the second lines in each paragraph. I can't see what they mean - can you?
    Get the signal.
In addition to A-GPS, iPhone 3G uses signals from GPS satellites, Wi-Fi hot spots, and cellular towers to get the most accurate location fast. If GPS is available, iPhone displays a blue GPS indicator. But if you’re inside — without a clear line of sight to a GPS satellite — iPhone finds you via Wi-Fi. I looked at the same sight for that and it does not say that.  This is the first time I have posted a question, you don't have to be mean about it.  I am trying to get this to work for a good cause.
It may be the best source of assistance is the manufacturer of the device. I suspect you will need a specific app for the iPhone to get it to work, but the site is rather ambiguous about that.

  • I feel like a sucker. I bought an iPAD2 at Fry's where I was told by the salesman that the non 3-G version does have GPS. It does not have GPS.  Is there any way I can use the GPS on my Iphone or Garmin to display in my new mostly unuseable iPad2?

Is there anyway to input a live, real time  video feed into an iPad2? I would like to use it as a remote monitor for a microscope camera in electrophysiology. Our camera was designed to run off of an older Mac via a firewire connection.  The camera is SUPERB but the computers are dated.  The older  computers connected to an AC line are  electrically noisy.  I have worked out converting the signal from our camera to HDMI and/or USB2 but the iPad2 will not allow any input except via iTunes which is not real time, and requires several steps. Is it possible to use the only mostly useless iPad2 as the excellent portable DC driven display which it is?!!!  How do I get Apple to say anything but IGNORE, IGNORE IGNORE.  This would be a universal application in academics and all I think I need is permission from the iPad2. The original signal was designed for Apple hardware. They can have the patents. HELP?

    I have an X200 with a WWAN Card 43R153 (Ericsson F3507g) running Window 7.
The WWAN reliably connects to Vodafone but I can't get the GPS to work.
Device manager shows this port Enabled:-
Ericsson E3507G Mobile Broadband MiniCard GPS Port (Com8)
Driver Invogps.sys from Ericsson AB, Version 1.0.0.28  29/09/2008.
Thinkvantage GPS version 2.50 is also installed and Lenovo System Update says everything is up to date.
When I "Turn on GPS" or run 'Lenovs GPS"  I get this message:-
The GPS NMEA COM port is not available. You need to check the following things.
    - Another GPS application is using the COM port.
    - COM ports is disabled. You can enable the COM port in the Device Manager.
Location and Other Sensors shows nothing installed.
I've tried deleting all the drivers and reinstalling but not luck.
Has anyone else had the same problem and found a solution. I can't think of anything else to try.

If you are running a Windows 7 Weather Gadget on your desktop, try shutting it down entirely and see if that changes your GPS "in use" problem.
