The grey bar on safari?

sometimes when i open a new safari page on the very bottom of it there is a grey bar that tells me the url or the name of the site when my mouse is over a link or clickable item.. it usually isnt there and my question is how do i get it to stay there.. i like it.. thx.

When i type into the search bar on safari, it comes up with a yahoo or bing search instead of google like it normally would do

I've had my macbook pro for about 2 years and any time i would type into the search bar of safari it would always come up with a google search. recently it is coming up with a yahoo or bing search and not google. my settings for safari have it set to google as the default search engine so I'm not sure why this is happening. Can anyone help me fix this?

When you go to search something in your search bar , and you click in the search bar at the top , a drop down menu should appear when it gives you suggestions on smart search right ? , well within those list of suggestions in the search bar their should be a little magnifying glass icon in the corner , click on that and another drop down box will appear, then you can choose your search engine preference e.g. bing , google , yahoo etc. click on your preference and it will use that search engine when you search in your search bar. Plus, I work with many open windows and am constantly copying and pasting links into the address bar in Safari, so it works better for me to have a longer address bar. Yes. I tried deleting the spacers, moving the spacers, removing and re-adding the address bar, and nothing. All it does is add blank space to the end (And actually that picture got cut off. There's space on the right side too). I tried adjusting the space, but I don't think I can do that either?

How do I hide the menu bar on Safari when watching videos on full screen mode?

Hey guys,
I have a mid 2010 macbook pro (Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8) which I have recently restored from time machine after installing a new hard drive.
However, now when I watch flash videos on putlocker or hulu etc the menu bar on safari on the top left of the screen and the icons on the top right (airport, battery, date/time etc) does not disappear as it used to.
When I am on youtube I have a similar problem but this time the video only occupies the window so tabs (and everything above) in safari and my dock still appear. I know this may be a youtube related query, but if anyone knows how to change this I would appreciate any guidance.
This is my first post so sorry if this in the wrong forum (feel free to move it) or if my description is unclear, I can provide further information if needed.

How do I alter the grey bar since ios7 on iphone 4?

I have a query that I have seen on various forumes concerning the grey bar at bottom of screen that seems to be a solid colour, rather than the translucent one in ios6. This new look of the ios7 seems to be a perment thing, I have checked settings and cannot find any way of making it either lighter, translucent or even smaller. This appearance gives the wallpaper and phone screen a childish look. Please can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

You are correct. There is no setting you can change to change the appearance of that bar. You can provide feedback to Apple to let them know how you feel by going to www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

Search Google from the URL bar in safari not working, Help...

im stuck here trying to find out why i can't search more in the url bar in safari. Just happened few weeks ago and i most use bing or yahoo.
I did try to delete cache and plist etc, everything i read in the net but still not working. I have mac pro 2011, and I'm not sure but i think this happened after i open a second account for my girlfriend in my mac, so she can have her own account. I check and in the other account happen the same...some ideas?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Can't find how make the menu bar on Safari 6 larger so I can actually see it on my new 27" display. Help!

I have new 27" Thunderboldt display with my new 15" retina MacBook Pro. On my last 27" display, I could see the menu bar within Safari and the apple menu bar on the main screen. Now the text is too small and I can't seem to find where to make it larger in my Safri preferences and in my Apple settings. Can someone help, especially with the Safari menu....my eyes are sore.

Check your settings in System Preferences > Displays > Display > Scaled
Try a different resolution.
If nothing there helps, try Sysem Preferences > Accessibillity

I aggree It's rather annoying that you can't remove these features when like me you never use them, however by far the most annoying part of this is that when you go into 'Customize Toolbar' you can actually add yet a second 'Show Top Sites' feature to the toolbar !! Even those people who actually want to use this feature don't require two of them. For crying-out-loud come on Apple, this has to be a joke right?!?
