The hard-disk of the mac I used to sync my iPhone to died, how do i sync to my newer mac without losing apps, contacts, music etc?

So yeah as the title says, my older mac's hard-disk died they cant retrieve the data. Now I need to get new music etc into my iPhone 5 on iOS7.
I used this newer mac more anyway but my iPhone back-ups were always on the older one. So how to sync to the newer mac without losing all my contacts, photo's, music, apps etc?
Will Pod-to-mac work for the music?
Anyway leave your suggestions! Thanks in advance

My Mac can't find the volume " Data" on Time Capsule, Also I can't find with the disk-utility program the hard disk in the Time Capusule.
So I can't format the disk in the Time Capsule
Deconnevt and then connecting the power tp the Time Capsule gives also no solution.
    What can I do?

I listed the commands.. that is how you manually mount the disk.. follow exactly the commands I gave you.
In finder use top menu, go, connect to server.
    Type in the following.
AFP://TCname or AFP://TCIpaddress (obviously you replace with the actual name or the actual IP address).
    If that fails..
    try
    SMB://TCname
    Here is the screenshot.
tardis4 being the name of my TC.
It should then ask you for your credentials.
And it should remember them in the keychain and be able to then get TM to connect.

Hello, I changed my Imac hard drive which no longer worked. I installed a hard drive
Western Digital 500 GB 7200 rpm SATA3 WD5002AALX 32M Black. Sometimes I see the hard disk in the utility on the Starter CD, but access seems very slow. By cons when I want
install OS X 10.4.2 on the hard drive, I do not see the disk. What is the problem?

    Thanks for the help
I started on the installation CD OS X 10.4.2, I used Disk Utility
to partition the disk according to the document that you have proposed. unfortunately
I have not succeeded. When I partition the disk, even if I called it Macintosh HD, it
does not keep the name and it shows disk0s3 instead. I did an erase on disk.
When I mount the disk it tells me that I must repair. When I tried to repair, I got
    the following message:
    Volume check failed
The underflying task reported failure on exit
    1 HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error.
    I also had a message:
    Invalid b-tree node size.
Note: The disc is new, but it has already been formatted on a computer Imac 27 inch 2011 OS X Lion.
I used a USB 2.0 to SATA cable to adjust the formatting.
What to do to fix it?

Had to buy a new PC as the hard disk of the old one broke and lost all purchases, but still have them on the iPhone. How can I sync them back to the new PC in iTunes without losing them?

    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

    Hi
I can't start with the IOS. The point is that it is waiting for the files to be transferred which l do not understand. So what l do is to switch off the 2620XM but the result it says is that l am stopping the file from been transferred which is a real puzzle to me. Because at first the IOS is been transferred but why it is going back to the rommom mode still beats my imagination.

  • HT1727 i bought some ringtones on my iPhone, later on i sync my iphone to my old computer now i have a new mac pro desktop and i only have 2 ringtones on my phone but not the rest of them how can i get them back without having to pay for them again?

i bought some ringtones on my iPhone, later on i sync my iphone to my old computer now i have a new mac pro desktop and i only have 2 ringtones on my phone but not the rest of them how can i get them back without having to pay for them again?

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

  • How to upgrade the hard disk of the nomad jukebox

I read the FAQ of nomad on nomadness.net, I wanna know how to upgrade the hard disk of old nomad jukebox with a bigger one?
I also read a artical on tom's hardware about this,
    http://www7.tomshardware.com/mobile/20000/mp3-3.html
    but he gave a link
    http://www.kuren.org/jukebox
that is not available. He mentioned that it need to clone the fist 65536 sectors from the old disk to the new one, but I have not the old hard disk( I bought a second hand nomad jukebox without the original hard disk). How should I do?
Does someone have the image file of the fist 65536 sectors from the old disk?
    Thank you!

That was the old method before Creative published their Bootcode Flasher software.
    Follow the instructions here:
    http://www.nomadness.net/modules.php...ticle&artid=24
All files mentioned are available somewhere on Nomadness. Also check out the sticky thread in their JB section of the forum as it lists what hard dri'ves will work in a JB and which ones won't. I hope you haven't already bought your upgrade hard dri've.
I used the above method without any problems and now have a 20GB JB.

  • Using New Computer Without Losing Apps?

I'm out of town, and I don't have music on my iphone yet. I want to put my songs on it, but my iphone has the first few pages of apps synced to my desktop. How to I start syncing with my laptop without losing all of my apps? I know it'll ask me to reset my iphone. Will that delete all of them? I'm told they're saved in my itunes account, but does that mean I'll have to redownload all of them manually one by one? I have nearly 8 pages so that'd take forever (most of my apps have never been synced to a computer, by the way). I'd appreciate any information. Thanks.

In regards to iTunes content, you need to decide which computer you want to use for syncing iTunes content with your iPhone and stick with it.
If this will be your laptop, first you need to authorize you laptop with your iTunes account with iTunes. Next be sure automatic syncing is disabled - iTunes > Preferences under the Devices tab.
With your iPhone connected to iTunes on your laptop and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

The things bought in iTunes will be transferred, but you will lose other music. You need an application to import

  • How to make the hard disk visible in a new admin account?

I created a new admin account, in order (hopefully) to solve some problems that I've been having with SPSS21 for Mac.  But when I log on as a new admin account, my hard disk no longer appears on the desktop.  It (and all the folders and files in it) are still accessible by clicking on the hard disk in the path bar in a folder, but it's annoying not to have the icon on the hard disk.  I don't know why the icon for the hard disk does not appear on the desktop.  Does anyone know why, and how to make it appear?  Thanks.

Oh, my god!  I'm so embarrassed that I couldn't figure this out myself, after being a devoted Mac user for three decades!  It's so obvious!  Thank you so much!

  • Online export to the hard disk

Probably a very simple question but Im still learning,i`m trying to export data dircetly to the hard disk during the measurment .(now ,the data are only saved when i stop the measurment it means that if trouble with windows occur during the measurment i`ll lose the data)

You can place the "write to file" part of the code within the loop where you obtain the data. If you add the newly acquired data, simply select "append to file".
So here's an idea of the steps:
    1. create the file where you want to store the data.
    2. inside the loop where the acquisition takes place, write to the file. Use "append to file " option.
    3. Outside the acquisition loop, close the file. Make sure you can clse the file even if an error was detected.
Run it and see if your data was kept.

  • Upgrading hard disk in the new aluminum iMacs

Hi all. Is a hard disk upgrade on the new aluminum iMacs something that a seasoned computer geek can do by his/her-self at home? Will it void the Apple warranty if it's not done by a certified specialist?
I want to pick up a new 20" iMac, and I'm having a hard time deciding whether I need to get a big disk now or if I can upgrade at home, on my own, down the road.
I did some research (on this site) on upgrading the hard disk in the last rev of iMacs, and it looks pretty simple. I also noticed that, according to Apple, as long as you adhere to their procedure (only touch the brass colored screws!) you are well within your rights under the warranty to replace the hard disk.
I could not find out if this policy was the same for the new aluminum models. Does anyone have an answer? I don't NEED a 500 or 750GB internal hard disk right now... but I'm sure I will WANT one at some point not too far down the road.
    Thanks!

Apple can't legally "void" your warranty for just opening the cabinet. They can refuse to cover any damage you do -- but unrelated failures are still covered. Apple doesn't own the warranty -- you paid for it, and under US law, they are required to honor it.
