The hardest task to date. putting videos on Ipod.

30 gig Video Ipod. I have tried all weekend to put my downloaded scrubs episodes on to my new Ipod. No luck.
I tried ffmpeg first, then movie to go, then QT7, then pqdvd, I can't use handbrake because I downloaded these from bittorrent.
Using QT7 I could add to itunes library and watch and listen to the show, but I couldn't get the show on to the ipod.
I finally tried another exporting idea mentioned in this discussion forum, however I can not see or here anything. What an I doing wrong? see a whote screen and have no audio, but I can get the file on to the Ipod. Earlier, again, I could see the show and hear it in Itunes but could not get the file onto ipod.
Some on please help. Please.
thanks.

There is more than one AVI format out there. If you have QT Pro and the conversion is not working, then you will likely need either the DivX or 3ivX component for QT. Unfortunately, DivX has yet to get its v5 component to work with QT 7 and v6 for Mac has yet to be released. (Not sure about the status of 3ivX.) Of course, you can always look for a third party standalone application or use QT 6 (if available on another computer) with older component to perform the conversion using manual settings with MPEG4 preset. (Don't forget to turn off streaming settings.)

I have the same problem.  I haven't been able to find any suggestions or solutions.  I found a free program called CopyTrans Manager that allows me to put videos onto my iTouch.  You can download it at http://www.copytrans.net/.  I have been using it for the last few days now and it has worked great.

  • How to Put videos in ipod nano 5th gen

Can anyone help me how to put video here i what do i need to insltall or what should i do????its my first time having ipod so dont know what to do i can sync music but i cant sync videos can anyone help me...

The nano can be used as a flash drive by going to My Computer then opening the ipod.Once in you will find a file called DCIM. Inside that file you should find a file called 000APPLE that is where video is stored onto your nano. You can just drag and drop it onto your computer. And if you computers players are up to date you should just be able to play them like normal on your computer then. Other wise you have to find out what software on your computer works with the sync option in itunes. I do not know what PC software that is because I have only pulled video off my nano and dont need to sync.

Go into your ipod preferences and check the box that will automaticly add the videos to your itunes video library. This is, if you are transferring a home video or a movie. After the movie has been saved to your libraryI, just drag your selection to the ipod icon. If you are buying a video off of itunes, it should save to your itunes library anyway. Hope this helps.

  • Help with putting videos on Ipod

Hey all. I'm a little new to this. I'm having trouble putting videos on my Ipod. When I try to put them in i get a message saying "Some of the songs in the Itunes music libary, including the song "...", were not copied to the IPod because they cannot be played on this IPod.
Maybe they're the wrong file type? It does this for every video I have. How can I solve this problem? Thanks for your help!

you need to convert the videos either to .mov or .mp4. either will be compatible for the ipod. you need to use 3rd party software not supported by apple.windows users have had trouble or success using this software.

  • Can't put videos on ipod

i have bought a ipod video 30gb. but when i try to copy any videos into my ipod. there is a message that is doesn't works. at this site they say that i have to convert my video with iTunes. and when i do this, i can copy the video into my ipod, but there is no sound. what is wrong?
    thank you

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.
See:iPod plays video but not audio.
You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.
See this for help: Guide to converting video for iPod (Mac/Windows).

  • Trouble putting videos on iPod

I have a 30GB Video iPod, and I recently took some videos with my digi camera and wanted to put them on my iPod so I can watch whenever. The format is a format iTunes recognizes (.MOV format...and it opens with Quicktime). I have it in my movie list on iTunes, and I can click on it, and it will play fine. But as soon as I go to sync all the songs and the videos to my iPod I get this message:
"Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including the video "Sonny being tested with a stick and plastic bag", were not copied to the iPod....because they cannot be played by this iPod."
How come I can play it in iTunes, but it says I can't play it on my iPod? How can I make it so I can play it on my iPod? Thanks!!!!!

I have the same problems with you.
    Same 30GB 5G iPod.
So if you are familar with the iPod supported formats, you will know clearly about this.
And I just put the *+Pavtube Video Converter+* converted H.264 mp4 format to my iPod.
Same message with you "can't play video on the iPod.

  • Question for putting video on Ipod?

So I have a video Ipod. Shouldn't Apple supply software for this task? Most video has to be changed over to Mpeg4 to work anyways..right? I found my Tivo files must be "transcoded" over to Mpeg4 to work. I tried the Catalyst trial software which does great but does cost $25.00!

Apple doesn't supply much video conversion software. There is a basic conversion function in iTunes itself (Advanced>Convert for ...) but nothing terribly sophisticated. I suspect, this is, in part due to the fact that there are legal issues surrounding the conversion of commercial DVDs to an iPod/iTunes friendly format (breaking the encryption, a necessary first step in copying them, is illegal in the U.S.), Apple just wants to stay clear of a lot of that. Also, Apple primarily makes software for machines running it's own operating system. Quicktime Pro has more conversion options but I don't know if there is a Windows version. If there were, it would be about $29.99.
There are free or lower cost options for video conversion. They'd probably pop up with a quick Google search.

  • Putting video on ipod

I am having trouble putting some videos on my ipod. I downloaded a video(not from itunes) and it was in the avi format. I converted it to the correct format MPEG4 and then put it on itunes and then on my ipod. Then when i tried to play it their is no video only audio on both itunes and my ipod. Please help me fix this.
    Thanks

I have the same problem. I converted dvd files to MPEG 4 with ipod converter software and got the files showing into itunes library, but tried to drag to my ipod on manual setting. It showed the plus sign like the drag and drop was working but the files do not appear on the ipod when I disconnect, it didnt show any downloading taking place, the circular symbol for downloading occuring.
I tried right clicking on a 20 minute mpeg 4 file in the library, hit Convert and it was taking nearly an hour to complete. Meanwhile that file was already in MPEG 4 type.

  • Is it possible to put videos on ipod then delete from itunes???

I really like the videos but im worried about the mem space on my comp....is it possible to put the videos on ur ipod, delete them in itunes and ur comp, but have them stay on ur ipod?? i allso would like them to stay there even when i go back to update...because with songs if i delete them from my itunes list they delete from my ipod when i update..

You have to change your ipod/itunes settings. When you ipod is connected click the ipod button on he bottom right corner of itunes. Look through the settings and make sure you have checked "manually update" your ipod. If you do this then when you connect your ipod back to your computer you can choose when goes on and off and nothing will be automatically be deleted.
    Hope this Helps!

  • I can't put videos on ipod 30g

    Hello:
I have an ipod 30g but I can't transfer videos from my computer to the ipot only the videos that I buy from itunes, and I bought the quick time 7 pro to convert my videos but it dosen't work or maybe I don't know how to do it, can any one help me with that?
    Thanks

As Jeff pointed out, the Videora iPod Converter (free) is a Windows specific application that you should probably install if for no other reason that to convert "muxed" (single audio/video stream multimedia) formats. However, since you have already paid for QT Pro, I don't suggest you simply toss it away. While QT Pro is very slow when using the dedicated "Movie to iPod (320x240)" export option, it can also be used with the "Movie to MPEG4" manual preset collection to enter settings which can be much faster. In addition, QT Pro employs a gernerally "tight" compression strategy which may come in handy with some movie content. Basically, different converters work somewhat differently and sometimes one works better than another with a particular movie or if a single application is used, will need to be "tweaked" to operate at its best. So it is always a good idea to have more than one converter available if needed. After a fair amount of use you will likely gravitate to one application for general use based on the file types you use most often and their content.
