The healing brush in Bridge

Using this for the first time. Encountering strange behavior. Nothing under Help menu.
At a radius of 7 it creates two circles connected by a line. One assumes the second circle is the "good" area. On inspection I see that the initial selection is now cleaned up. If I hit Enter it saves out the file and I'm back to the lightbox.  That is not what I want.  I simply want to accept the transaction.
At a radius of 1 or 2 it gets very confusing.  Now no circles and the pointer flip flops between being a cross, a double-headed arrow, and a diagonally aligned double-headed arrow. I have nothing in PS to compare this to and I don't know how to accept or chane the transaction.  Can someone enlighten me?
Thank you.

Nothing strange about it
The moment you hit enter you are telling ACR that the work is done and it
shuts the plug in and enters again Bridge, your start point before using the
plug in
There is no need to hit enter for healing brush, just use it as much as you
like, don't use a small radius, the second circle can be moved to another
location you want to be as the source for the spot to remove. You can clear
the spots at once using clear all or use the cmd Z or Option+Cmd Z for
multiple undo's. After you are satisfied either go to another panel or hit
enter to finish.
And not that I don't like to help you but you might consider to dive in
Bridge a little more to learn the basics.
A very good starting point is the excellent series Real World Camera Raw by
Bruce Fraser and Jeff Schewe, after reading this there will be less secrets
about Bridge and Camera Raw.
Also try AdobeTV.com, there are a lot of usefull video tutorials that let
you learn more about Bridge and ACR

  • Proper Use of the Healing Brush & Patch Tool

When using the Patch tool and Healing Brush tool to smooth skin, I cannot seem to avoid "grabbing" dark coloring from the clothing as I get close to the edge of the skin.  I have the sample source anchored in the middle of an area far away from the clothing edge, but if I get close to the clothing it pulls from that color and "bleeds" into my healing area.
I've tried to view tutorials on the Healing Brush, but haven't found anything that addresses this specific condition, just standard "how to" stuff.
Thank you for any advise and direction here.

I'll give you a little trick as you can see the preview of the are you are patching it is possible to do a patch clone sort to speak.
    it works like this.
    http://mysite.verizon.net/wzphoto/patch.mov
if the angle of the clothes do not match you can copy a section and paste and then rotate the section to match and use it as the source for
    the patch tool.
BTW the idea is that you have to include the contrasting areas so the do not cause a blending. even if the darker area needs no repair.

  • Using the healing brush tool

Anybody able to give me a simple explanation of how to use the healing brush tool to retouch  photograph?

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium...  And I'm using Photoshop Elements 10 with a Wacom Intous 4 tablet and pen.    I noticed this behavior right after a forced reboot from a Microsoft update yesterday.  I was editing a pic when it rebooted.
Now, the behavior only manifests itself within Photoshop Elements when I use tools that use reference points such as the clone tool or healing brush.  It's a trailing dot that seems to echo the reference point; which eventually catches up to place itself right under the tip as I make a stroke.   I can't really see what I'm doing, so I end up making a big mess of things on my pics.  This also occurs using my logitech mouse...   Check the mouse settings as well, and it not using any trail options.
Called Wacom and they had me uncheck "use microsoft ink" from within the Wacom properties.  They identified the problem as the "ripple effect."     I've disabled the "press and hold" feature the "pen and touch" options in windows,  disable the Tablet PC Input service, and made edits to "TurnOffPenFeedback"  in, both, the local machine and local user in order to disable it.  So far, nothing has worked.   If it makes a difference, I noticed that every time I edit the local user registry entry, it enables itself after each reboot.   Haven't fingered the cause of this yet.     Please let me know if you have any other ideas.  Thanks!

  • Where is the Healing Brush tool?

Has the Healing Brush tool been discontinued in CC2014?

Just so you can see it :
The icon updates to the tool selected so its always worth looking at the fly outs if you think something is missing.

  • How come every time I use the healing brush tool or patch tool it smudges?

I just want a solid change to the pixels that I've selected but instead it just creates smudging because it's trying to blend the pixels for me when in reality I don't want that. The only way I remember how to change this is through hardness but my hardness is at 100%. I'm working on an advertisement for the National Museum of Crime and Punishment in DC and I'm there nw trying to get this done.
    Please help,

yes, lots of option and learing curve steep.
When you have spot healing brush active look at the toolbar that shows size of brush, mode, etc.  Mode should be in Normal unless you want special effects.
Also, since this is an auto program, if you have the brush size too large it will sample a larger area, which can introduce artifacts you don't want.

  • Video Editing using the healing brush

how to you use the healing tool in the video? Do you have to go one frame at a time to get the whole video done or is there a quicker way of doing it?

thx but what do the ps mean? Also when I render it it doesn't look like it covers the healing part and it jumps. Is there another way of correcting blemishes with adobe products beside after effects?

You can switch between precise and standard.

  • The healing brush in LR5 looks and works like in LR4

    Hello,
    I just updated from LR4 to LR5.
After installing, converting my database and working with the software I find out, that the repair/copy brush in the developing module looks und works  like in version 4. That means after using the brusch there is no possibility to select the source from where you want to copy.
It's really working like in version 4.
I had installed the LR5 beta version at a different PC and updated this version also to the final version of LR5 and there everything is fine.
Just at my main PC I have the problem.
I already tried to reinstall LR5, uninstall LR4, but still the same.
    Does anybody know this problem?
    OS = Win 7 x64
    kind regards
    Andreas

    What problem?
You can select the source both in LR 4 and LR 5 (and previous).  If you don't see the source, you might have to hit "H" (for "Hide/Unhide") to show the source and destination.  Then, you just drag the source where you want it.  If it auto-chose the source outside the current crop, you might have to reset the crop to see where it chose that source.

  • Problems using the healing brush in Photoshop Elements 7

I follow directions and it works for areas of that size. I can't change the size of brush.   I Alt-Click on good area, but am not sure what dragging over flaw means. I try clicking on bad area to make disappear.  That was  the way my old Adobe Business Edition worked.

Drag means: click with mouse at one end of flawed area. Keep holding the mouse button down as you move your cursor to the end of the flawed area. Release mouse button.
You can change the size of the brush in the options bar, or by pressing ] to make it larger and [ to make it smaller.

  • The Adjustment Brush in Bridge

Has the "auto mask" and "show mask" option disappeared in this version or am I just missing it?

In Bridge? Do you mean Camera Raw? The Show Mask option and Auto Mask are there for me in ACR 7.

  • Entire image moves when using the Healing Brush

After I alt/click to select the color for the brush, the entire image moves with the mouse.  Any ideas on this?

It'll be the overlay moving. Enable "Clipped" as shown below:

  • Can't select 'all layers' from the healing brush drop down menu

I just installed PS6 and while cleaning up a picture I found this very frustrating: I created a new layer on top of the one I'm editing and wanted to remove a couple of blemishes. but when I hit J and try to select the 'all layers' option from the drop down menu, it won't allow me… it's stuck on 'current layer' and I can't seem to change that… Does anyone else have the same problem? Will reinstalling the software fix it? I need to get this done by the end of the weekend… HELP!

never mind… found it! checked the channels panel and apparently I had created a quick mask… deleted it, works fine

  • Retouch with the Healing Brush tool

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop/cs/using/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7607a.h tml

sheez. I had NO idea this was to be posted to Forum! Wow. I thought it was feedback to adobe ;-)
anyway, WOW. THANKS! I wish i had done this eons ago. SO many hours trying to figure it out!
i'm not the sharpest pencil in the pack, it seems... ;-)
and thank you for that last bit, as well. For i find that i was searching for the correct way, not realizing the proper framework is to look at the result, not which tool produces it. Nice! That helps to organize the operation ;-)
    again, nice! Thanks!

  • Spot Healing Brush VS. the Healing Brush?

They both seem to do the same thing. How do they differ?

The help files explain it quite well. Ever think of checking there?
