The Highlighter only works to highlight text. A scanned image only has an image of text and cannot be highlighted. That's just the way it works, sorry.

The 'share' button does absolutely nothing. I went through the same upgrade on my daughters Mac (Mavericks etc), and it works perfectly well on hers. Does this mean I should re-install iMovie? If so, how on earth to do I unravell the mystery of achieving that?

I have the same problem. The 'share' feature is not working in iMovie...?
I deleted iMovie from the Applications folder and emptied the Trash. But the App Store still shows iMovie as "Installed" so it won't reinstall. What else should I try?
Why has Apple not issued a fix for the "Share" bug? It means that iMovie 10.0 is unusable. Little by little the quality of Apple products is sliding downhill.

The reset feature is not working

I have tried resetting a 4th generation ipod touch but the reset feature is not working. Is there an alternate?

On the iPod Touch itself there is a factory reset option under;
Settings -> General -> Reset (scroll all the way to the bottom) -> Erase All Content and Settings.
OR
Put your device in DFU mode , and iTunes will do a restore. Plug the device into your computer then; Hold the lock and home button for 10 seconds, then release the lock button but remain holding home for another 10 seconds until iTunes opens and asks you to restore.

At a guess, turn off VoiceOver: Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver. Use three fingers to scroll.

I have seen this before. You need to update the apps in your app store, and once they are updated, they will work again.

Are you using the Sky Go app to try and watch it ? If so are you logged in with your Sky account ?
If you are using the app then you could try closing the app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Sky Go 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Sky Go app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Why does the highlight feature seem not to work about 1/2 the time in various ibooks. I'm trying to take notes and about 50 pages into a book the highlight feature stopped working.

I've long noted that the highlight feature in ibooks is clunky and fairly limited in it's note-taking features, but the last two books I've read I've had trouble getting the highlight feature to work at all. I click and drag over text and nothing happens. I try with command depressed and nothing happens. If I double click a bunch it will eventually highlight one word, but nothing more. What gives?
Also, not to be snarky, but why can't I seem to find a button that would read text to speach for me? How do blind people use this service, or illiterate, or dyslexic, or people like myself who can learn far more from hearing then from reading.
And why does the text of a book often render so that it's haf cut off of the page?

There is a button for speech within the iBooks menu. Edit > Speech. You might be better off buying Audiobooks. You can get them from the iTunes Store or Audible.com

My computer shuts down but the restart feature will not work. It just hangs.

I have a MS6547 version 1 (645 Ultra Motherboard)
The problem I am having is that my computer will not restart. If I press the power off button in windows it will shut down but the restart windows function will not work it just hangs at (Windows is shutting down)
I zero'd my hard drive and installed a fresh copy of windows but the restart feature still doesn't work. Even when I was in the middle of installing windows when the computer says it will reboot in 15 second that hangs on restarting computer as well/
Hope someone can help

Hello and welcome!
It sounds like it has a hard ware reason. I suggest you take the motherboard out, to see that there are no stand-offs/spacers/distanser left unused creating a short.
Also, remember to have as little hardware as possible when you install Windows. No extra PCI-cards, USB-devices and such.

How do you fix the sound that's not working on an iPad mini?

OK so the sound on it does not work. It's turned up all the way but nothing is still coming out. When I plug headphones into it, it works just fine and normal but without it, nothing. I looked up on google at the options of how to fix this and they pretty much all said to just turn it off and then back on. It also said to hold the power button until the swipe to turn off pops up and then to dismiss it. Plus one saying to hold both the home and power buttons down. I turned it off and then back on, as well as the other options but still nothing.
Am I doing these things wrong? Is there any other way that this can be fixed?

The autosave feature does not work on Pages 5.2

Since downloading the new version of Pages with Mavericks, the auto save fearure has never worked for me. After initally saving the document to iCloud, giving it a name and folder, every time I make a change I get the 'Edited' label next to the document name. I have to cmd-s of file save in order for the document to be saved, or am promted to save when I close to app. I have tried deleting and reinstalling Pages with no luck.
Is there a way to turn the feature on, Please help ?!
P.S- I am on Late 2013 Retina MBP 13", running latest software on both OS X and Pages.

I don't think either of your "indicators" actually refers to whether a document has been autosaved; they both refer to the saving of a version.
The prompt to save is a reflection of the setting in the General pane of System Preferences to ask when closing; if that is unchecked, the document will close without a dialog, but including the changes that you have made since the last version that you marked with ⌘ S.
The "Edited" label indicates that there have been changes since the last marked version. The changes may have (eventually will have) been autosaved to disk, but if you browse back through the version history, the first step will jump over those most recent edits.

The password features does not work. Open TB, and I can read my email without using the password. Why?

I use a password for security. When I click onto TB, I do not have to use my password to read my emails or it will not download. I cannot figure out how to change my password. When I tried to set the master password,
it claims to have confirmed the new one. But I have to use the old password, or I do not have to use a password at all to read my email, if it downloads. This is after I uninstalled and installed TB 24.4 three times.
Now what, any ideas?

Here is my understanding: the master password secures your saved passwords. In other works, it unlocks your password to connect to the server to send and receive mail. It doesn't prevent people who have access to your computer from opening Thunderbird and seeing what's already there.

Highlighting changes does not work with rulebased workflow

Hi Experts,
When we run the standard change requests provided with MDG 7 FP 2 we can see changes highlighted in colour but when we copy the same change request and make it a rule-based workflow we lose the functionality in the new change request.
Is there something else we need to do to have the same functionality for Rule based workflow?

Yes.I am copying the standard change request that is working with highlighting the changes and then I change the copied workflow to the rule based workflow.
The standard Change requests are highlighting the changes.
I am using MDGF 7 with FP 2.
We upgraded from MDG 6.1 to MDG 7 FP 2 and I am not convinced that the old UI was completely replaced when I run report RGZZGLUX before I opened the firs change request.
I have the new UI in my change requests but the highlighting function is not working , even if I create a new CR from the Standard CR's now.
