The Histogram's left & right upper boxes... save

Sorry the lack of correct terminology - but how can I save it as default to keep the two histogram (left and right upper) clipping boxes to be activated every session?
I quite often have to click on them to activate them - they are not saved as activated from session to session.
while I'm here - LR cannot do a colour swap - I want to do IR effects making green leaves and grass - white. Is there a free editor or plugin that will do this?

You're referring to the Clipping Indicators. Unfortunately, they do no stay on between sessions, but hitting the J key should be enough to set both to On when required. Hit J again to turn Off.
Lr has two built in infra red presets, which can be found under the Develop Presets in the Presets panel. Also, do a Google search for Lightroom infra red preset if you want others.

How do I get them back ? I have tried closing the program and reopening it but when the saved program reopens the slides are still missing for pulling the programs scope left right up and down !!! are you sure the slides (please fill me in what are those?) are missing?
May be you have dragged the mouse while holding down the CTRL-key that auto-expands your block diagram?
To verify use the find function and search for the name of an indicator/control that has gone missing
Another way might be using ctrl-shift-N, this will show a small overview of your VI.

BTW your VI should fit into one (1) or two (2) screen of 1024X768 and never expand it in both directions!!

SQL DEVELOPER 3 EA1 - Missing Left / Right tab scroll icons

On the left pane that has the Connections, Reports tabs, once a few schema browsers are added (2 for example), there is no way to scroll left and right on the tabs using Left/Right buttons. The right pane that has the SQL worksheets get those arrows once more tabs are added then can fit the window.

I already have a bug logged for the text on the tabs not being visible if you have 3 or more tabs open in the navigator. As noted, you can drag these tabs to create separate new navigators, which may be considered to be a work around, but does mean you can see your tab headings. The extra options and navigators do mean that this is more noticeable now. I have raised the priority of the bug.
Ctrl+tab will allow you to navigate through the tabs.

Or if I'm trying to upload a pic to a site say for instance a job site and trying to upload a resume and when I click on the button nothing happens.
This is very frustrating when I have a lot of time invested on the site I'm on and can't upload.

A-Go to upper left corner and select preferences. In general tab,there is an option to ask everytime whenever you are going to put your downloading files.
B-Update your browser and reset it.Might be you are unable to upload because of viruses too. So make sure to scan your pc by a good antivirus. Okay? :)

How to keep Google as the search engine on Firefox startpage, no matter what search engine is in the upper-right drop-box?

When I change the search engine in the upper-right search-box (to let's say Wikipedia), the search engine in the middle of the Firefox home-page changes accordingly. I don't want this to happen (I want that to pin to Google). How to do it?

Current Firefox versions use the search engine that is selected in the search bar (click the search engine icon to open the drop down list) on the Navigation Toolbar for searching via the location bar and for the search engine on the about:home page.
If you want to use different search engines then you can install the Keyword Search extension to specify with search engine to use for the location bar and which search engine to use for the about:home page via the Options/Preferences windows of this extension, accessible via the about:addons page (Firefox > Add-ons).

When exporting I only see in the Markers box Left, Right & Center"

I am using FCP HD 4.5. When I attempt to export to a Quicktime movie I no longer see include chapter markers in the marker dialog box. I am only seeing "Left, Right & Center" in this box. I believe that this is the first time that I have ever seen these.

Sometimes when downloading a .pdf file I'm not automatically switched to Acrobat reader, but the screen becomes white with a red borderline left and upper, IE doesn't have this problem

The screen shows the borders of the original site. Beneath the Mozilla workbar the screen becomes white, on the left and upper side there appears a thin red line. Nothing is downloaded, clicking the right mouse button doesn't solve the problem. It doesn't happen everytime I try to load a .pdf file. When I go to the same site using Internet Explorer I do not encouter the same problem, swiching to Acrobat Reader or FoxIt is immediate.

To enable this right you need Acrobat, not the free Reader.
However, starting from Reader X it is possible to add simple markups to any file, unless it has been specifically disallowed by the creator of the file.

If you check the don't show this again box when closing multiple tabs, how do you get it to warn you when closing multiple tabs, or to save previous tabs? Checking the warn me when closing multiple tabs box under tools/tabs does not work to solve this?

I accidentally checked the do not ask me again box when closing multiple tabs. Now I no longer get a warning when closing multiple tabs, and it saves my previous session. I have tried checking and un-checking the warn me box under tools which has not worked. If I open a second window and try to close multiple tabs it will warn me but not on the first window.

You can reset the warn prefs on the about:config page via the right-click context menu.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.

The picture in the gallery is correct. The picture you are looking at before you capture it is a mirror image such as you are used to looking at, otherwise you would not be able to handle it. Look at More Like This >>>>>>>

Wrongly transformed the sentences of left and right paragraphs into one sentence in PDF files to txt files by Acrobat 9 Pro

I found that the when transforming PDF files into TXT files by Acrobat 9 Pro, the Acrobat will wrongly transform the sentences of the left hand side and right hand side paragraphs into one sentence, while the correct format should be the later sentence follows the former sentence in each paragraph.

PDF is not a word processor file format.
It has no "styles", "format", "layout", "columns", "rows", "tables", etc.
PDF writers paint the content to the canvas that is the PDF page.
Depending on what was used and how it operates this painting can be like a paint by numbers affair.
ISO 32000-1:2008, the ISO standard for PDF explains it all.
So, when exporting to text from your PDF the progression is left to right, top down.
Remember, PDF has no awareness of "columns". What we see is our construct not PDF's.
What you and I see as two columns with a specific read order is our imposition.
What is on the PDF page is simply a line of text characters.
That is how it is with all versions of Acrobat. Applications can only make use of what the file format supports eh.
What to do?
Master content in a logical hierarchy in the authoring file.
Always use the build-in Headings for Headings.
Use the built-in "table" feature.
Use a PDF writer process that is compliant with the ISO standard and that supports proper output of Tagged PDF.
A well-formed Tagged PDF will export properly.
Two key design considerations for Tagged PDF are:
(1) Support Accessible PDF
(2) Support Export of PDF page content.
What constitutes a "well-formed tagged PDF?"
This would be a PDF that is ISO 14289-1, PDF/UA-1 compliant.

No printing :I can't print anymore, printing the same file with another program is ok, printing form LR (in the same system and printer of course :-) ): Preparing and Printing indicatorbar in the left hand upper corner are running and completing, but no output at all to my printer. I have been printing before. Next I upgraded to LR5.7.1 but the problem stays. Perhaps some adjustment is changed by me unintentionally, but I have no idea. Does anybody know what to check? Printing to file is also strange,the canvas only seems to accept A4, and crops any image relative to that size, so a 10x15 cm print on 10 x 15 cm paper is cropped to 10x15/2. Anybody any idea? (system win 8.1 64, printer HP B8550)

I accidentally solved my mystery. For some reason it was set to "print to file". I changed it to "printer" and now I am able to print.
