I have been on Infinity 40mb since it first rolled out in my area in March 2011
I have always thought it was expensive, But with no other option for fast internet, I had to bite the bullet and pay .
However i just found out purely by chance that Sky fibre is now available, same speed, NOT throttled and cheaper per month !
So without hesitation i have signed up.
I also just changed my business broadband, BT were charging nearly £40 per month with a static IP, and my new supplier can do it for £18 per month.
Called BT for a MAC code, and naturally they tried to keep me, said they can reduce the price to the equivalent of £17.50 per month.
Now the way i see it is.. If they can do it for £17.50 per month, they should have re-evaluated my account before i signed a new deal with someone else, as the old saying goes, it's like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
Which takes me back to my infinty A/C .. I see now they are doing Totally unlimited broadband, and it actually works out marginally less than i will be paying with Sky.. why have they not offered me the new cheaper price ? I'm sure they will when i ask for my MAC code tomorrow, But then it will be too late, they should have thought ahead.... now the horse has escaped.

Supermarkets proactively monitor the prices of their rivals and usually match prices to keep them competetive.
Maybe BT should be monitoring their rivals !  Unitil SKY launched Fibre on my network, BT was the only option i had, they knew this so were happy to keep charging the high price, But seeing as SKY lease the line from BT wholesale, then BT would know they were not the only player anymore, and should then take a look at how to stay competetive.
As a customer you would expect to receive some blurb through the post or an email telling me about this new unlimited infinity, but have had nothing, First i knew of it was when i looked on this forum.
I just get really annoyed when they can suddenly DROP the price if they think they are going to lose you, I run a business and regularly do customer account reviews, if the market changes, i change with it and pass the saving on to my customers, I don't keep charging the highest price i can get away with until my customers get a better offer from a competitor ! And i won't accept it being done to me.

    HI tasclix, it depends what you mean by an OS X boot drive.
    If you want a recovery disk from which you can reinstall (by re-downloading) or recover from a time machine backup, then nbar is correct.
    If, however, you want to boot and run the OS X installer from the USB drive (so that you don't need to download again), then you will need a copy of "Install OS X  Mavericks.app"; see this article:

    Before downloading again, search your system to see if the installer is still there - it's usually in the /Applications folder unless it has been deleted, but check your whole system for it anyway, you never know, you might still have it somewhere.

    Audiobooks are not currently part of the content that can be re-downloaded. You should sync your audiobooks to other devices via iTunes on your computer. If your audiobook didn't download correctly or has other problems, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

    I have the exact same problem. I have not changed anything. This is probably a bug or something that has gone bad with Mac OS X (10.7.2). I have not found any solution for this on the web.

  • Error message: ni: A frame has been dropped and the acqusition has been canceled

    I use a NI PCIe 1433 framegrabber with a Basler spl4096-140km line camera.
    Using triggered acqusition with an external source, I can get a framerate of 68500Hz in NI-MAX.
    When I use the Matlab image acquisiton toolbox to acquire data, I however very often get the error message: 'ni: A frame has been dropped and the acqusition has been canceled". This happens even at much lower framerates (20kHz) and only seems to go away when acquiring data slowly.
    Computer is a Dell Precision 7600 and I assume there should be no issues with RAM or the PC being slow. The error does not go away when reducing the data size (i.e. reducing the ROI to one single point that is readout).
    Do you have any pointers why this error message appears and what can be done about it?

    I encountered the same problem and I think it is because the allowcation of storage in matlab cannot catch up with that of the camera so that it will drop frames when the buffer is full.
    I also want to know how to solve that.

I want to know if i copy all of the music in my itunes folder to an external without consolidating can i still transfer all my itunes music from my current windows xp pc to a brand new one and have my current itunes library in my new pc? Basically i just want to know 3 things: What exactly does consolidating the itunes library do? Can i copy, paste, and transfer my itunes library to an external and from there to a new pc? Will i be able to transfer my itunes library without consolidating the files?

    I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed.  It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4).  Please see and follow the procedure in the following article:http://smallbusiness.chron.com/reverting-previous-version-itunes-32590.html   The previous version works beautifully.

Version: 9.2.1"  When I try to update, it pops up to say "These apps cannot be accepted by your apple id - These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID and they will be available in that Apple ID's purchases list.  If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the application".  I checked and there is nothing under the "purchases" in my App store.  Then will say "update unavailable with this apple id - This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or canceled." Then the third pop up says "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store.  Please try again".  Just want to know how do to fix.

    After I upgraded to Mavericks I was also having this message when I tried to update. There was a previous post about this problem which offered this simple solution which worked for me:

    The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
    Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
    However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
    Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
    I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

    I am trying to create a method of replication from Oracle to MySQL using the Materialized View Log table.
    This has been done before and works quite well, the only problem is that I am trying to impliment the log after the table has been created and populated and wish to push all the existing data through the log file...
    Does anyone know if it is possible to refresh the Materialized View Log and not a Materialized View.
    The way the replication is intended to work is:
    Oracle> Data inserted into table
    Oracle> writes the vector data to the MVL
    Script> Monitors the MVL and can see the changes being made to the Oracle Table
    Script> Updates MySQL with the data and removes the rows from the MVL
    MySQL is then used with other unix systems
    Currently we export the data from the table using Triggers and a cronjob running every x minute to check for changes in the TriggerTables

    Thats what I thought, the MVL will only read data that has changed since it was created and wont have the option to load in all the data as though it was made before the table was created.
    From what I have read, the MVL is quicker than a Trigger and I have some free code that prooved to work from a MVL using it as a reference to know what records to update. There is not that much to a MVL, a record ID and type of update, New, Update or Delete.
    I think what I will have to do is work on a the same principle for the MVL but use a Trigger as this way we can do a full reload if required at any point.

    There can be many reasons why the Login is "up the creek".
    Any break in the network at your end whilst logged in will cause  an issue.
    A sort of discrepancy between what iChat thinks the state should be and what the server thinks.
    If they don't agree the server will refuse to accept.
    A Crash at the server end which does not log you out properly will also do it.
    Any file at any time can be come corrupted.
    Luckily with the iChat .plists they are recreated if removed with an iChat Restart.
    If it were AIM you can also get your Account Suspended  and this will not log you in.
    (It tends to happen from Chat rooms where people notify AIM about bad behaviour (as they see it) and you have to apply to get Un-suspended).
    Most of the big IM services use multiple servers.
    Sometimes these go out of Sync.
    In the case of AIM this happens when they remove Old unused Screen Names from people's Buddy List prior to making them available for re-registration.  I am not sure if this happens at Google.
    You seem to be talking about an account that has worked at Work and having new computer at home.
    As I mentioned the Priority thing you have not said that it has coincided with the new computer logging in  (this will kick the work Computer out of Google whether you are logged in  on the Web Mail page or in iChat)
    IN addition to that iChat stays partially logged in for Off Line IMs
    This is done in the background by a support app called iChatAgent
    If your Computer is ON but ichat is not started people can still send you Messages.
    Instead of saving these on the server until you login iChat will start up.
    Depending if the home Mac is effecting the Work Login it may be holding sway over your Login.
    Using your girlfriend's login may have booted her Off Line where she normally uses the name/login.
    The AIM Side can be specifically set to allow Multiple Logins and therefore NOT allow them.  If this happens you get a warning and messages to do something about it.
    You do not get these in any Jabber or Google Login as the Priority setting is supposed to take care of it.
    If the Login works at the Web Mail Login and on one computer then the .plist on the work computer is the most likely issue.
    There is a small chance that a Corrupt Buddy Pic (Home Folder/Library/Caches/com.apple.iChat/Pictures) may be the cause.
    Set this folder to icon view and also use the Finder's View Menu > Show View Options and select icon view.
    This should show all pics as their icon.
    Check that all display properly.
    At this point I would try a COMBO version update install of the last Update you did over what you have.
    This often corrects hard to trace things

  • Internet Download error message: the connection with the server has been reset

    With an WRT54GS v6 firmware v 1.50.9 on Windows XP SP2 with Internet Explorer 7, Intel wireless internal adaptor w/ 802.11b,  I was getting the error message "The connection with the server has been reset" when downloading most anything from the Internet.  My IP address would then be reset and download would be interrupted.  To resolve, I turned off the WZC (Wireless Zero Configuration) Services, and this seems to correct the problem.
    Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services > Wireless Zero Configuration > Disable
    Hopes this helps.
