The host name of macmini-c42c030d62c6.local has changed to macmini-c42c030d62c6.local

I have received many emails saying: "The host name of macmini-c42c030d62c6.local has changed to macmini-c42c030d62c6.local. Some services may not work correctly until they have been updated to use the new configuration. If I click on macmini-c42c030dd62c6.local I have 2 options: connect and copy. I click on connect and it shows connecting to the sewrver: Connecting to afp://macmini-c42c030dd62c6.local...." then it shows "it had been a problem to connect to the server macmini-c42c030dd62c6.local (it is possible the server doesn't exist or it is not available in this moment. Check the name of the server or IP Address, net connection and try again

This question is outside my experience and I assume that it has nothing to do with the subject of this forum, creating podcasts. May I suggest you ask it in the OSX Server forum if that seems to be appropriate (even if it is to do with Podcast Producer I still have to refer you there).

  • The file name format for Voice Memos has changed - how can I change it to the original format?

The file names for the voice memos changed in the last update.  Now the day is first, which means when you sort them in a file folder, they sort by the number of the day and not year - month - day as before.  Is there a way to change it back?

Restore it as new or sign out of that account and into yours.  Both are covered in the manual.

  • Run Into Problem When Trying Not To Hard Code the Host Name

My code (using the JavaMail API) works fine when the SMTP host name is hard coded in the program:

  • How can IC WebClient determine the host name for free seating?

    Hi,

To run a public VPN server, you need to do the following:
    1. Give the gateway either a static external address or a dynamic DNS name. The latter must be a DNS record on a public DNS registrar, not on the server itself. Also in the latter case, you must run a background process to keep the DNS record up to date when your IP address changes.
    2. Give the VPN server a static address on the local network.
    3. Forward external UDP ports 500, 1701, and 4500 (for L2TP) and TCP port 1723 (for PPTP) to the corresponding ports on the VPN server.
    4. Configure any firewall in use to pass this traffic.

  • The host name cannot be resolve ? ( with linksys router )

Hi all, I have some problem with setting up a network. I tried to set my network according to http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Configuring_network   the network/internet is fine except the host name with "http://" cannot be resolve. For example
    ping 216.239.61.104
    ping www.gogle.com
both work fine, until I try,
    ping http://www.google.com
it give me error, tell me that the hostname cannot be resolved. I tried to config my network using both dhcp or fix-ip, but the problem still present in both way. Internet works fine in windows/ubuntu.
Anyboy has any clue ?  The router I use is wrt54gl with tomato firmware.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
if pinging www.google.com works then dns resolving _does_ work. Why would you want to ping http://something?
You should try opening http://whatever in a browser not pinging it from command line.
Or am I missing something obvious?
Yes, for instance, all mirror list for pacman is in "http://...." or "ftp://...." form. I could easily change the repository list, but I'm not sure if it'll have same problem in future with other program.  Also, if it work in ubuntu and windows, why not arch.

  • How to check the host name or rename the host name in Enterprise Manager

    Hello,
How do i check the host name or rename the host name in Enterprise Manager for Oracle 11g?
    Regards,
    Ming Man

there is a shell script called chgip or something
like that is there . I used it for IAS. I beleive the
same is there for database too
Rajesh AlexIf there is, I have not been able to find it.
Off the top of my head, changing the host name involves at least the following (others feel free to add on):
    For listener and connectivity
    - listener.ora
    - tnsnames.ora (on all clients as well)
    - potentially ldap.ora (on all clients as well)
    - init.ora parameter LOCAL_LISTENER
For admin using Enterprise Manager (starting 10g)
    - the contents of the sysman schema
    - the directory name of the OEM agent directory
    - the directory name of the OEM OC4J config directory
    - various config files in the OEM OC4J config directory
Oracle provides the emca to handle this last set.
In addition, the following refer to hosts that are [probably] not local
    - init parameter REMOTE_LISTENER (usually just points to a tnsnames.ora entry naming remote hosts)
    - init parm SMTP_OUT_SERVER
Again, adding to the list might be interesting.

  • Cannot change the host name in registry.xml

After installing WebLogic 10.3.3 on Oracle VM template, the regsitry.xml and registry.dat files cannot be changed to reflect the hostname of the VM Guest
nstall WebLogic server in a OVM template. The host tag in registry.xml will contain the hostname from the template (e.g. firsttemp.oradev.inddev.national.com.in) .
Create a guest using this OVM Template and the The host tag in registry.xml will still contain the hostname from the template (e.g. firsttemp.oradev.inddev.national.com.in) rather than the actual hsotname.
I dont want to change it manually in the register.xml since it may cause problems in future
    any pointers are highly appreciated..

It is not recommended to change the name for an IP addressIt is not recommended by who? AFAIK there is no such sentence in documentation.
    But there is other:
host Required. Specify the host name or IP address of the database server computer.
Instad of "It is not recommended..." better use "Consider this..."
, as if ever it changes in the future, you'll have to be back and change once again your ip.The same is truth when we are speaking about FQDN (fully qualified domain name).
How often your company changes the IP adresses on server platform?
    My experience from past:
    First case:
My company has rebranded and and domain name has been changed but IP has not. Unfortunatelly we were not using OID for resolving. If there were FQDN used then would have to make changes in many files. Fortunatelly we were using IP addresses.
Now we are using OID for resolving of tnsnames (as primary method).
What I want to say is both solutions (FQDN or IP) are fine. Each of them has some advantages and also disadvantages.

  • The Bonjour name does not match the host name

I changed the host name of a Mac Mini Server (OS X 10.8.5, Server 2.2.2) but then I got the email "The Bonjour name xxx-server does not match the host name yyy-server.local).
How do I fix it?  (Appreciate for detailed steps.)

The Bonjour name is separate from the DNS host name, and you're hopefully not serving the .local domain from your own DNS server within OS X Server.  That can cause problems.
The Bonjour name is assigned by  > System Preferences > Sharing.
If you want to see the three names assigned, launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and enter the following three commands (some example output shown for each command) (do not enter the $ signs shown in the following; that's the command prompt):
    $ scutil --get ComputerName
    myhost
    $ scutil --get HostName
    myhost.example.com
    $ scutil --get LocalHostName
    myhost
    $
Post the output from the three, and we'll have a look.  If you want or need to obfuscate, please do so consistently.  Example.com (as shown above) is a good choice for an obfuscated domain, too.

  • Change the host name of communication channel at runtime

    Hi,
I am connecting to an SQL server using a JDBC receiver communication channel.
The vendor who is managing this SQL server says that he has a primary server with the ip <IP1> and a secondary server with ip <IP2>.
He wants me to switch to IP2 when IP1 is down.
Is there any possibility of  to achieve this ?
    regards,
    Piyush

I dont think there is any options available in JDBC adapter to change the host name dynamically...
what u can do is - u create a dummy scenario which will just check whether the database is up or not and store the flag values in PI ABAP stack..
Now before u send data to JDBC u do look up and check which server is up...and based on that u divert ur message to required system.
thats what I can think of now...

  • How can I get the host name from Email address?

    hi
When I using socket to develope an email-sending servlet,I don't know how to get the host name from emial address.can you help me,thanks

Stripping off the user name will give you the domain of from field in the message. This is not the same as the host. Take a look at:
    http://www.stopspam.org/email/headers/headers.html
Theres a pretty good discussion about email headers and how to use the information. You probably want to check the information here against the RFC.
