The icon says 'waiting'
I have a problem. I downloaded os x mountain lion with redeem code cause I just bought new mac on 16 july . But when I download it, the icon says “waiting” and until now the download does not continue. And when I open app store I have to pay for os x mountain lion, whereas before I used the redeem code. What should I do?

Here are a bunch of things that you can try to get the downloads to resume.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad. -
I am trying to update a new iMac from Snow Leopard to Lion. When I click on install in the app store, the LIon icon jumps down into the dock and nothing happens. The message above the icon is "waiting." Eventually, the icon disappears. How can I install Lion?

When I download an APP the icon says Waiting?
When I download an App from my PC to IPad2 the icon on the ipad screen says Waiting. This has happened on 3 downloads so far. What can I do? I already did a soft reboot. Thanks
If you are downloading multiple apps then they should download one after another. Have you tried tapping on them to see if that restarts them ? Or downloading them on your computer's iTunes and syncing or dragging and dropping them across to the iPad ?
By a soft reboot do your mean a reset : pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear (it doesn't remove any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot). -
I ordered wheel of fortune app and it started to install. It did not install and is staying on waiting mode. If I click on it ... Pause. Is the result. I have three other attempts to install other aps. All have the same lack of response. I don't know whether the payment went through or not but all of them remain frozen and I'm installed. I tried calling support to no avail. What o do ?
Rebooting will not make you lose any content. Rebooting is when you hold the home button and the sleep button down at the same time until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

Download only one application at a time.
Click all downloading applications until they all say "Paused". Then click one at a time, let it complete downloading, then click the next and repeat. -
i attempted to purchase u2's new album - songs of innocence at the itunes store. The icon says "purchased" yet I am quite sure I have not purchased it. There are no songs in my library nor is there any record of the purchase in the account history.
Everyone was given the album. It was a gift from U2 and Apple. You can go to purchases and download it to your device.

This is often a feature of faulty battery. Try to Restore your iPhone with iTunes on your computer. See if better. If still problem, make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send your iPhone to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

How do I clear apps that say waiting?
This happens sometimes, not sure why, but it is annoying! I have found that it will eventually fix itself and either download the apps, or just erase them. But if it's really bugging you, try a hard reset. Hold down the "sleep/wake" button and the "home" button at the same time for about 15 seconds. You will see the red slider screen to turn off the ipad, just ignore it. The iPad will shut itself off, then restart. When you see the Apple logo appear, you can let go of the buttons. See if this fixes the problem. If not, you can restore your iPad in itunes, just back it up first.

I have had Firefox on this partion for several months. Yahoo indicated that I had to upgrade Firefox. It gave me a toolbar that I didn't want and couldn't remove. I uninstalled Mozilla. I have tried unsuccessfully to reinstall Firefox, including trying an older version. It goes through the process. When finished, the icon is a box, When i click on it, it defaults to have it deleted. It has a short message that says :
The item 'firefox.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly.

Yes NoTylerdowner, thanks for your reply. However, that's not it. I ended up solving the problem. The computer was bought for me by a business associate. The individual who he bought it from set up the computer for him. So the download was going to the default partition. I did a "custom" instillation and changed the name to me. It then installed properly.

I am trying to install a software from a cd but when I run the cd to my mac pro, the icon that I have to click to install the software has the extension .exe and when I click on this it asks me to choose application. The icon is different if I use the cd in my Pc (windows).
Any idea how to install this in my mac pro?

Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion run Windows from inside Mac OS X through emulation. Applications which require direct hardware access likely won't work, and this method is slower than Boot Camp. It is more convenient to use, as no restarts are needed.
CrossOver Mac and CrossOver Games translate the Windows instructions directly to Mac OS X ones. This is the cheapest method if you don 't already have Windows and the least compatible one.
Stating which applications you want to use will enable more specific advice to be provided.
