The ideal CPU & Memory requirement to make JDev fasttt

Hi All,
Our development PC Now using the minimum recommended hardware requirement : CPU 2- 2.4 GHZ and memory 1 GB.
Its getting slow now.
Before we invest more, does anybody know, will it help if with same CPU I add more memory to become 2 GB ?

Obviously, no guarantees....
Our team noticed quite a difference going from 1GB to 2GB on laptops, but we are also running Oracle databases on the same machines in some cases..... If you're concerned about the expense, why not try it one one PC?

Try running Performance Monitor on a Scale-Out File Server and you'll see CPU and memory usage (unless CSV cache is enabled) is pretty sparse. Dedupe does not matter at all as optimization process kicks in only when there's no I/O (CPU is not used for anything
either way).
P.S. That's one of the reasons why I personally don't buy approach of scaling CPU (Hyper-V) and storage (SoFS) layers separately from each other.

With plug-ins enabled the amount of memory required by FF increases over an hour or so to take up 1.7Gb of memory and then stops responding.

At that point FF4.0 ceases to respond while other applications are still working ( Mail etc. ).
If I start FF4.0 in safe mode the memory used stays around 500 Mb and is stable over a day at least.

Just opening DW takes up 50% CPU memory

just installed a trial edition of DreamweaverCS6 and tried to run it. When the dreamweaver opens up and the home page was showing it immediately takes up 50% of CPU memory. It makes the system to work slow. someone please give a solution to this. Thanks in advance.

High CPU usage in Code view issue has been resolved for Mac and the new build 12.0.3 is available for update for Non-Creative Cloud Members too. Please update to the latest build.
In Dreamweaver use menu 'Help' > Updates to get the latest build 12.0.3, The above update is available for both Windows and Mac.
If you are using a trial version, there isn't much that can help you unless you upgrade to the cloud.

I want to ask, that I have a MS SQL 2000 Enterprise edition server. How much memory required per client. I know, the SQL system memory required (more 1 G) but my question is, if my SQL server use plus one client, how much memory must take in my blade?

Although there are some thumb rules out there, it is hard to tell as you did not specify which kind of access the users are doing at the database. For ressource intensive querying you should put more memory in your server, where on the other hand you would not have that much memory for users doing plain and simple (Select / DML ) operations. How many users do you have, how many are connected on average, what are they doing on the database ?

What Lightroom 4 Book settings are required to make a book "send to Blurb"

What Lightroom 4 settings in the Book mode are required to make a book "send to Blurb" ... my 76 page book will not send but a test book of just 4 pages WILL. What should I check for in my bigger book that may be blocking the process. PLEASE someone who knows what to do ...help. I think I've followed all the directions correctly for making my book and spent countless hours on it. I've seen other discussions on this matter with no answers since 2012! Seems like something Lightroom needs to fix. Any ideas what I can check in my book? (PC user)

CPU/Memory Usage increases when loading SWF files in AIR.

We face the below mentioned problem. Would be great if someone could help us.
Due to problems with uploading the attachment here, please send a email to the following email-id ([email protected]) and I shall send the attachment in response.
CPU/Memory usage increases drastically while moving the SWC components and loading the SWF Files.
"Problem Description" - On executing the sample application, a window with multiple objects is shown. The loaded SWC components in flex consume too much Memory and CPU cycles. This is visible in TaskManager. On dragging one of the object, CPU / memory usage increases drastically.
"Steps to Reproduce" -
Draggable window is placed at the bottom in the sample application with Text indication.
Drag the indicated window.
"Actual Result" - System's CPU usage increasing drastically around 50% to 60 %.
"Expected Result" - Drastical increase in memory\CPU should not occur.
"Any Workarounds" - No"

CPU memory

Hi,
I am using labview application for testing purpose, where I am doing many file operations. My problem is even after closing all the vi's my CPU memory is almost the same, CPU memory is coming down only when I exit the labivew.
Is there any logic/palette to kill all the memory used by labview
please suggest

What are the minimum CPU and Memory requirements for R12 Vision instance?

We are in the process of trying to figure out what the minimum hardware requirements are for installing the R12 Vision instance. This Vision instance would only have 5 or less concurrent users. We may have to order a new server and we are wondering what the minimum CPU and memory would be? Oracle Support will not give us this information.
We aleady know how much disk space it will need.

How to make JDev aware of the xmldb API

Hi everybody,
I am a real beginner in Jdev, and I have to develop a
Java Application using Oracle Java developer, against
an XML-native database called eXist. I'll have to use
a java API called xmldb supported by eXist in order to
interact with the database. Although I have basic
knowloedge in Object-oriented programming, but I don't
know where to begin, especially how to make JDev aware
of the xmldb API, and how to create classical
application components (Windows, buttons, etc).
Could you help me with some orientations and
interesting links?.

Hi,
don't know this database, but the database vendor should be able to explain how his DB is accessed from Java. If this requires libraries, then the vendor will provide these in JAR files, which you then configure with JDeveloper (as a custom library Tools --> Manage Libraries) or in the Project
If there is a JDB driver for it, even better. This however is not a deliverable of JDeveloper but the database vendor

OATS CPU does not support the SSE2 instruction set required to run JRockit

Hello,
I am trying to get the OATS agents to work on some injector machines, however, when I try to start them I get the following error:
"[ERROR] Your CPU does not support the SSE2 instruction set required to run JRockit.
Could not create the Java Virtual Machine."
Is there a way to configure OATs to use the Sun JDK instead? I have the Sun JDK in my path and JAVA_HOME set accordingly, however that doesn't seem to make a difference. Alternatively, is there a workaround to this problem?

Cpu, memory etc requirements for 10gAS

I intend to install 10gAS (BI + forms) because I want to implement discoverer 10g with E-business. My question is
(1) where can I get a document on the cpu, memory, disk space etc requirement for installing AS 10.2.1.0.2 on for example RHEL 5.0.
(2) My E-Business suite is on solaris.....but I want to put the 10gAS Discoverer 10g on RHEL. Do you see any problem?

We have SSIS Package, which in-turn executes some Stored procedures .
This Package runs fine at certain time, say 30 minutes which is acceptable. But sometimes, it takes around 1.5 hr. There was no modification done to the package, and the amount of data handled by the package is also same.
I have a doubt that some other big process may be running in parallel when this package is getting executed.
All the Databases are on D drive in the server and currently there is 140 GB free space out of 1 TB.
Now, using sp_who2 I can check what are the big processes which are running in parallel when this package is getting executed and get their Disk I/O.
Now having these information, is there any way to determine, amount of space/memory required to execute a particular query in 30 minutes.
Or to put a question in other way, I have a query and I know its acceptable execution time(30 min). Now is there any way to determine the criteria to get that execution time.
NOTE: The query is optimized and required indexes are created. It was running fine, until 1 week back. Suddenly the execution time has increased.
Can some one please help me in this. Please let me know if you need any further information on this.
Also whenever these jobs are running, sometimes job activity monitor and SSMS gets frozen. Any idea what does this indicate?
