The images in my project on illustrator appear one way but save differently in PDF. Any idea why this is happening?

In Illustrator, this is what I see... this is what I want.
When saved as a PDF, this is what I see... a much harsher white outline on the star fish.
Anybody know why this is happening?

First, Repair Permissions with Apple's Disk Utility.
Then verify that you have Read and Write permissions to the folder or volume you are saving to.

See if either of these things works for you. In the future ... Only update one app at a time. Forget that the Update All button even exists. It causes more problems than it does good - IMO.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.

I was having this problem while still using Mavericks -- it started after a Mavericks update last spring. During the initial Yosemite beta runs over the summer, it seemed to be fixed, but after the official launch in October, I had all sorts of problems keeping connected. Its gotten a little better, but still happens to at least one of my devices every day. Weird that we still cannot figure out why the connection keeps dropping on some devices, but not others, and then the next day, one of the devices that didn't disconnect the previous day will disconnect, but the ones that did disconnect, stay connected. It's just sloppy, poorly written software for technology that isn't working the way it should. If you turn off Continuity and Handoff on all your devices, you will probably see that everything stays connected. With those turned off on all devices, TC stayed connected to everything for over a month. The day I turned Continuity back on, all the problems started again. It had something to do with the bluetooth version being used, the wifi routine, and Apple's AirPlay technology not quite getting along with each other.

Did it happen during a sync or did they just disappear? After they were gone, we you able to retrieve them during syncing? Are you using any 3rd party apps to access your contacts or just the built-in Contacts app?
In any case, I've not heard of or expeienced this on my iPhone 3G (synced with Outlook and now Google) or my iPad, although I've only had my iPad for a short time.

On my Mac (vers 10.7.5) I use Disk Utilites to burn a DVD. The DVD won't play on the Mac but will play on my Windows PC and on a DVD player. A DVD created on my PC will play on the Mac. Any ideas why this is happening?

I used iDVD to create an IMG file
You created the video DVD, the IMG file, with iDVD and just burned it with Disk Utility. As Klaus1 pointed out Disk Utility can't create video DVDs.

You'd have to look into Activity Monitor utility, to see if any applications or processes are running or hogging system resources; not just RAM (as it may seem OK even if it isn't; esp in Mavericks) but in the areas of hard drive capacities. Could be you have some other issues not just a too-full hard disk drive, or not enough RAM installed.

Another utility that could show you plenty of busywork things going on, is Console. The system logs in there can show a detailed list of tons of activity. Perhaps some of the often-repeated results may be worth considering; and go by the time (day, hour, minute) you notice the spinning wheel; look into the logs from then.
Have you tried starting up in SafeBoot (shift key held on startup, then login screen appears, hold down shift key again when you login) and then run Disk Utility's repair disk permissions? When done, you could try & restart the computer normally.
If you happen to get incorrect specification RAM (close but not correct) that could also play into a spinning wheel deal; however the problem may be something else that RAM did not cure. Yet bad or incorrect RAM only adds to a pre-existing issue, since it could not solve it. Same with a System Upgrade. To upgrade to Mavericks with problems already does not mean they would go away; often that makes the first condition harder to resolve.

Since I downloaded Firfox 4.0 I am having trouble sending e-mails. Norton sends the e-mails back stating the e-mail can not be sent. Any ideas why this is happening?

Thunderbird saves your drafts every five minutes by default. Sometimes auto-saved draft messages aren't cleaned up, giving you the impression that the incomplete messages are also sent. This happens especially for drafts stored on an IMAP server. You can change the configuration to save the draft messages locally by going to Tools -> Account Settings -> [account] -> Copies & Folders- > Drafts and Templates -> Keep message drafts in... and choose Drafts folder on Local folders...

Since i upgraded to os4.33 on saturday, the wifi connection on my 3gs keeps dropping out and prompting me for the password for the router. any ideas why this is happening

I imported events from iphoto into aperture and aperture is showing 2 photos for each picture, one original and one edited although none of the photos from iphoto had been edited. Any idea why this has happened and what I need to do to prevent this.

I imported several events for iPhoto into Aperture3 and in Aperture it shows two photos for each photo imported, one original and one edited although none of the photos imported were edited. Why has this happened and what do I need to do to prevent this in future. I have only recently got Aperture and am trying to learn as I go along using the Focal Press guide. Thanks for any help.

Quickly, what I found is that only the ones I did actual adjustments on brought over two images. Images that were simply rotated, had "quick fixes" or "Effects" did not bring in two images. More importantly, among the ones with adjustments that did bring in two images, the ones with the keyword "iPhoto Edited" appear to be nothing more than iPhoto's 6MB JPEG Previews. The master was a 25MB RAW image.
I don't know why some users are experiencing doubles on everything, but I recommend caution in deciding which ones to remove or you may find yourself deleting masters and keeping previews.

I live in Louisiana. Every search, and website that I vist lists local events or preferences for Chicago. Any idea why this is happening or how I can fix it? It's almost like the internet thinks that I live in Chicago?????

If I go to google news, it automatically lists local news for Chicago. If I go to any website that lets me look at local events, it pulls events for Chicago. Even Pepsi Refresh project, I clicked a button for "projects near me" and it pulls projects in Chicago. WHY?

When getting email from google mail, I am missing many emails which I can see on my desk top. I get the last 7 days of emails, then I miss two months of emails, then I get month 4-6. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening.

When I try to view my google email on my iphoine 4s i get the most recent emails and the very old emails, but the ones inbetween are missing. Is there a fix.

yes all emails are in the web based gmail. I have not deleted the account. I forgot to mention that it has been working on my iphone for over 2 years quite well and while I was giving access to the same gmail account to my wifes new iphone when this happend. It changed both the emails on my existing phone and my wifes new phone.

Firefox keyboard layout changes to something I don't recognize, the traditional [ QWERTY ] reads as [ ',.pyf ] any idea why this would happen or how to change it back short of killing firefox and restarting.

This happens randomly and infrequently. At first I thought it was my cats fault but it has recently happened while I was sitting at the computer with no feline interference. If someone could let me know how, if it's possible, to change the keyboard layout to QWERTY I will try this next time it happens to see if it can be corrected without restarting firefox. For a larger sample I will include the lines below:

It is possible that you have switched the keyboard layout by accident.
* Make sure that you have the Language bar visible on the Windows Taskbar.
* You can do that via the right-click context menu of the Taskbar: Toolbars > Language Bar.
* Check the keyboard language (keyboard layout) setting for the application that has focus via the icon on the Language bar.
* You need to do that while Firefox has focus because Windows remembers the keyboard layout setting per application.
* The default keys to rotate the layout is a combination (Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Shift) that can easily be used in Firefox to activate a menu item.
* To avoid an unintentional switch assign a specific key sequence (Alt/Ctrl+Shift+number) to select keyboard layouts and remove the key combination to rotate layouts (Alt+Shift or Ctr+Shift)
* Vista: Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Keyboards and Languages > Change keyboards > Advanced key settings > Change key sequence

In my Macbook Pro, on a few occassions, the apple menu bar blacks out. its displayed as a negative image. The desktop wallpaper get greyed out and i get a blank screen as wallpaper. No idea why this happens. I reset the system and issue gets resolved.
