The InfoCube contains non-cumulative values

Hi,
While creating multicube for inventory on two cubes its askin the below "The InfoCube contains non-cumulative values. A validity table is created for these non-cumulative values, in which the time interval is stored, for which the non-cumulative values are valid.
The validity table automatically contains the "most detailed" of the selected time characteristics (if such a one does not exist, it must be defined by the user, meaning transfered into the InfoCube)", what is that and how to solve this,
Please through some light on this its urgent.

Hi,
Your multi cube is probably based on the infociune 0IC_C03 containing non cumulative key figures taht's why you get this message.
You generaly don't have to maintain validity area unless you are in a special configuration (for exemple loading data from two source systems).

Hi all,
when i am trying to activate a cube which contains non cumulative key figure it is showing out the following error:
DDIC Object TABL /BIC/LZATTR1NON has not been activated
Table /BIC/LZATTR1NON could not be activated
Please let me know if any one come across with such error

Before activating an infocube with non-cumulative keyfigures, the system
design forces the user to enter at least once the screen: maintain
non-cumulative values (validity table). If that step has been performed, activation will work fine.
In the meantime, please do this step explicitly, at least once, when
configuring such an infocube, then you should not have any problem.
Please follow the same process while activating the infocube
Goto Infocube ->Goto Change mode->Menu ->Extra-> goto the screen:
maintain non-cumulative values once.

HI All,
when I run a query of a non-cumulative infocube,there's always a "initial record" which actually doesn't exist in the fact table. Documents say "This entry does not remain physically in the table, but it is available for rebuilding the non-cumulative values". So where exactly is the initial value stored ?

How to load init for non cumulative values?

anyone here, who can tell me how to load initial amounts from DSO to non cumulative values in InfoCubes?
I found only poor documentation about this.

hi Timo
you load initial of load as you do in the normal case only thing you have to keep in mind that before loading opening balance you have to UNCLICK NO MARKER UPDATE from the infocube and compress the request ASAP as it will greatly effect your query performance.

Hi,
A non-cumulative is a non-aggregating key figure on the level of one or more objects, which is always displayed in relation to time. Examples of non-cumulatives include headcount, account balance and material inventory.
If you use non-cumulative key figures, an absolute non-cumulative value (the marker) and all non-cumulative value changes are saved in the fact table of the InfoCube. In this way, the retention and volume of data in the data loading process is optimized. A data record is then only loaded to the InfoCube if a non-cumulative changes because of a transaction. Non-cumulatives can then be evaluated at any time in queries, using non-cumulative key figures.

Maintaining non-cumulative values in Mlti provider

Can we maintain non ucmulative values inteh multi ptovider Extras - > Maintain non cumulative values section.
I created few new cubes which has non cumulative keyfigures . In the cube I made 0CAL DAY as reference characteristic and selected Company code (0COMP_CODE) and Posting date in the document (0PSTNG_DATE) as characteristics of validity table for non-cumulatives.
Now I inlcude the new cubes and identified the non cumulative key figures in the multi provider.
Now here also do I need to make 0CAL DAY as reference characteristic and selected Company code (0COMP_CODE) and Posting date in the document (0PSTNG_DATE) as characteristics of validity table for non-cumulatives.I did not find an option in Extras - > Maintain non cumulative values in multi provider. CAn we maintain non cumulatives in MP ?

You dont need to maintain it at the MP level also.
Non-cumulative parameters are manitained only at the cube level.This was the case in 3.x so it should be the same in 7.0 also.

We are working for BI implementation for AFS Industry,
when we are working on AFS specific inventory cube 0AFMM_C02 , we are facing stock mismatch problem
for AFS Stock initialization we are using the data source 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION instead of 2LIS_03_BX, this data source is specificly designed for AFS
when we are extracting the data using 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION for stock initialization and
2LIS_03_BF data source to load the Moments.
we compressed cube with Marker update for 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION data load(by deselecting the No marker update check box)
we compressed cube with No Marker update for 2LIS_03_BF historical data load(by selecting the No marker update check box)
we compressed cube with Marker update for 2LIS_03_BF Delta data load(by deselecting the No marker update check box)
Now we are facing stock mistach problem, we found reason for this
"initial non-cumulative for non-cumulative values" option is not available in DTP only Delta & Full options are available
and infopackage of 2LIS_AF_STOCK_INITALIZATION data source also has "Full update" instead of "Generate Intial Status"
Please let us know how can we get the "initial non-cumulative for non-cumulative values" option in the DTP level.

Dear experts,
I want to extract inventory data from 2LIS_03_BF.
How do I have to configure the Key figures; for example: 0VALSTCKQTY. Is there a need to use Non-cumulative value with in- and outflow as in Content.
Which other possibilities exist?
After InfoObject config. - what are the exact next steps?
Do I load data from the 3 DataSources 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM into one DSO first and then into one cube or do I have to split?
I dont want to use the BC data flow.

Non-cumulative value KF

Hi:
I have given the Aggregation as SUM and the Excepiton Aggregation as Last Value for a non-cumulative KF Quantity Total Stock for Inventory. I am using Non-cumulative value with in- Receipt Quantity Total Stock and out-flow Issue Quantity Total Stock. Then I can calculate Quantity Total Stock in Query.
But I have another requirement, I want to a KF to count 0Material whose Quantity Total Stock not equal 0. In fact, for a Non-cumulative value, the Aggregation reference char of KF Quantity Total Stock is 0calday, but what I want is 0Material. How could I create such KF?

The basic purpose of Non-cumulatives is to get the values for them depending upon the Time Characterestics alone and not on any other characterestics. As far as I know you cant use 0MATERIAL as the aggregation reference Char.

Loading non cumulative values

Why do we require two separate infosources for loading the initial non cumulative value and the subsequent non cumulative changes?

Hi Deepti,
Basically you can omit the first step of initialization with one infosource and just you can use only infosource to laod full data as two infoaources are seldom used.
But basically first infosource is for initialization(One value for a combination of caharcteristica) and the second one brings the change after wards).
But this funcionality you can achieve through one infosource also no need for another one.
Even an int and full repair request will do the same thing and subsequent delta's will pick the changes

hi,
can any one tell the concept of non cumulative with non cumulative value change with an example with numbers,i am bit confused .
like we have for non *** inflow and outflow- stocks inflow and outflow so non *** is based on inflow and inflow.

If I under stand your question correctly you wish to have an example of where non cumulative values are used and you have given the value of stock? If so here is an example with figures
So you would do an initial load loading the opening balances of Stock.
Say material number 12345 = 100 units
After that, only movements will be posted so Stock will either increase or decrease depending on what image is posted via the change log.
So there will be a purchase of material 12345 for 50 units so now the balance of material is 150.
But then you could use or sell 70 units of material 12345 so you stock value would be 80 units
I hope this makes sense and this is an example that you are after if not please let me know and I'm happy to help

Why doesn't an Infoset work with non-cumaltive values? Can I just use a multiprovider to get around this issue?

Hi,
Non cumulative values are not stored anywhere in the database. These are just definitions which are calculated at runtime. Consider the Stock cube. It has 2 key figures. Received stock and issued stock. It also has a Non cumulative Kf total stock which is defined as inflow : Received stock and outflow : issued stock.
At Query runtime, the total stock is calculated as inflow - outflow. No data is physically stored in your database.
Since an infoset joins values stored in a database, you will not be able to use it for Non cumulative values.
What you can do is find your Non cumulative KF definition, and map the input fields for this KF. You can then try and use these fields to calculate the value as a formula.

EvDRE protecting cells - "The cell contains a calculated value.."

I have an evdre input template that gives me the following message "The cell contains a calculated value, or is for a non-base-level member. Try changing the associated member to a base level member, then re-entering the value".
Everything at the intersection is base level. Any suggestions on how to disable this message? What enables this message? I have had other situations where the intersection has a calculated member and it doesn't show this prompt, but only tells of the calculated member in the send confirmation screen. (BPC 5.1sp3)

Thanks for the answer. It is data validation. I had used the Apshell version of an input template as a starting point and had changed it to evdre and made changes that impacted the data validation that was baked in. I didn't realize that this was being included in their Apshell templates.

Multiprovider containing non-cumulative KF and cumulative KF

I have two infocubes that I have placed in a multiprovidor. Infocube #1 contains one non-cumulative key figure and some cumulative key figures. Infocube #2 contains all cumulative key figures. When running a query against the multiprovider, all key figures (from both infocubes) are displayed except for the non-cumulative key from Infocube #1, in which case the value is blanks. Is there something I am missing?

Yes SAP has defined some Restriction for Creation of MultiProvider for Non Cummulatived Key Figures.
"<b>MultiProviders
When the reporting scenario is to be extended, use a MultiProvider as central interface between
query definition and basic InfoProviders. When another InfoProvider is added to the MultiProvider
definition, the technical name of a query based on the MultiProvider remains unchanged.
Use a MultiProvider to reduce the size of the basic InfoProviders. Advantages: parallel access to
underlying basic InfoProviders, load balancing, resource utilization, query pruning.
Make sure that your MultiProvider only retrieves data from relevant basic InfoProviders at query
runtime by
o Using constants in the design of the basic InfoProviders
o Using different key figures in the design of the basic InfoProviders
o Using characteristic 0INFOPROV when designing a query on the MultiProvider
Are you planning to use a MultiProvider? If so, you have to ensure that the characteristics you want
to report exist in all basic InfoProviders.
Do not use more than one non-cumulative InfoCube (InfoCube with at least one non-cumulative key
figure) because this could lead to incorrect query results.
Do not use calculations before aggregation on MultiProvider because this may lead to wrong query
results.
Do not combine basic InfoProviders having inhomogeneous data models in a MultiProvider. Use the
report-report interface between queries defined on the basic InfoProvider instead.
Avoid using only parts of compound characteristics in the constituent basic InfoProvider of a
