The information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party
i have an asus Eee pc4g and my built in anti virus failed which i eventually got going again but doing so i tried a couple of ways to do this i pressed the f9 key restore on start up and this took me to the grub menu from here i went to the factory settings entered to format the user partition thus restoreing my pc to its original state it may have done in some way but my anti virus had still failed from here i went on to the pc,s software updates and logged on to the anti virus and brought it back to life again, but since then everytime i swap over to another site i get a window come on to my screen which i used to do before saying "the information you have entered is encrypted and cannot be easily read by a third party" but now it says "the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could be easily read by a third party"

Hello darrendunne87, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
* Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
;
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
thank you

Although this page is encrypted, the information you have entered is to be sent over an unencrypted connection and could easily be read by a third party.
Are you sure you want to continue sending this information?
I get two options: Continue or Cancel.
No matter which one makes the warning repeat itself and I want to change my settings to make it dissapearYou should be able to continue if you click Continue once.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem.
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

When I try to process financial information such as log onto my banking account or my paypal account, or pay for something online I get a warning message "You have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party." I also never get a padlock to show that I am on a secure site. How much do I need to worry or what should I do?

http://I would not trust that on a banking site. If it were just a forum, no problem, but anything unencrypted during banking is suspicious.

The Information you have entered is not correct - ...
I have two Skype to go contacts and two registered numbers from which I will make calls to these contacts. Each time I try to use the Skype to go numbers, and I try to authenticate my saved numbers I receive a message telling me that the number and password inputted is incorrect.
I have checked the information stored for both the numbers I want to call and my own details. Please advise me what I need to do to fix this problem and to enable me to use Skype to go.Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This"?

Just want the security to appear back in application
That message means that a page that is opened via a secure https protocol link has elements that come via an insecure http connection.<br />
That is a problem with that website and not with Firefox.
Previous Firefox version used to have settings in Tools > Options > Security : Warning Messages to enable or disable such warning messages easily.
[] "I'm about to view an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information"
Firefox 5 doesn't have that warning section anymore and if necessary you need to change the corresponding pref(s) directly on the <b>about:config</b> page.<br />
You can open about: pages via the location bar like you open a website. -
I am trying to activate new itunes card. I am getting error message: The code you have entered has not been properly activated. Does this mean the store did something wrong or me?
Yes, the store didn't properly activate the card. If the store is nearly then you could try going back and asking them to do so, if it isn't (or if they can't/won't help) then try contacting iTunes Support (you will probably need to give them images of the front and back of the card, and possibly its receipt) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then iTunes Cards And Codes
-
I put the code in correctly but it says, "The Gift certificate or prepaid code has not been properly activated." or "The code you have entered has not been recognized as valid." Help ?
You will need to contact the iTunes Store.

This is my first post, but I have been following this forum for a while and you have all been very helpful in my MacEducation. I have a MBP17 10.6.8 w/6GB ram from '08. I need to upgrade my HD from 200GB. I would like to go as big as I can and would appreciate any experiance you've had. Could I go 750GB or 500 GB @ 7200 rpm. Should I upgrade to Lion before I swap the drive out? Thanks, Johnny
Hi Johnny,
Yes you can do the 750 or 500, 5400 or 7200. Just make sure it is 2.5" SATA and 12.5mm high or less (there is at least one HD out there that is 15mm high and will not work).
Lion: I don't know that it matters much either way, just don't do them at the same time. That way, if there are issues, you have a much better chance of troubleshooting one major change instead of two. -
what can i do, pls help thx

Yes, my cousins iPod is disabled. It says "ipod is disabled, connect to iTunes", I did that and it will not connect to iTunes, because it needs the pass code. The pass code key board will not show up and I cant connect. Please help me figure this problem out, my cousin is depending on me. Thanks, a concern customer.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

I am using Firefox 13.01 on a Mac os an I am using electronic box a Canadian ISP. I receive the message when i go to https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=electronicbox and a few others
"you have requested an encrypted page that contains some unencrypted information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily be read by a third party."
The message clearly states that infomraiton can be read or enter can be read by a third party. I would like to know why "youtube" which has https, or SSL service which I am using still displays that message?Appreciate your suggestions, but this is sounding too complicated for me--especially since I just read Google Chrome is the most secure browser. I may just start using Chrome. Thanks very much anyway!
