The initial use of firefox was really fast. Why would it slow down? Takes way too long to load a web page.

After adding bookmarks from IE it seems to have slowed down considerably.

I don't have any netflix add ons or extensions installed. I only have necessary plug ins installed. I have turned off all add ons and restarted so this issue is not related to an add on, plug in or extension. I also can rule out my dsl provider as I have hooked my pc up to other family members connections with the same provider on the same server and it did the same thing, However their pc has no issue. I have taken my pc to 3 technicians and there are no problems they can find with my registry or any infections or spyware. The PC does the same thing on their connections.All hardware passes every test they can throw at it. I have tried other browsers and reinstalling this one as well and the same thing happens. This really is mind boggling. I have ATT/uverse beta 6.0. There should be no delay in starting up my browser. After startup, it works great no problems but the speed starting up is on par with old fashioned dial up right now. I have 3 gigs of ram available and I have 85 percent capacity left on hard drive , processor speed of 3.4 with dual core processor. Makes no sense at all.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

When I download Adobe's CS6 applications from the applications manager it takes way too long. On my macbook I can download the same applications in about an hour or so. With my new mac with tons of RAM it takes about 6 hours. Can anyone help?

Basically I'm having trouble downloading Adobe's CS6 applications. On my macbook it does it a lot faster than my more powerful imac. I know someone who also has a mac who said something like fragmenting my memory. Does anyone know how to do that. I'm totally clueless. Thanks.

The performance of the laptop has been great. It is a sony vaio that I bought 2 months ago and it has been very capable with CS3 photoshop, bridge and ACR. I load in thousands of raw files, cull them down to 600-800, apply quick develop settings with camera raw, and then batch all 800 through a fairly intense photoshop action. All of this runs great except when I want to rename or delete in Bridge. A little earlier I finally shut down bridge after letting it rename images for 3 hours and it had only renamed 7 files out of 700. (And I'm just trying to rename to Name_0001)
If you think I should run a performance check, I will. I'm just not familiar enough with Vista yet to know how.

I am now using v3.68 and tried updating to v7.01 but it does not seem to work. Went to control panel to remove all the old versions but Firefox was not listed there although Thunderbird is there. Please advise asap, thanks

I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong during the uninstall/reinstall process. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
In the Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, look for '''Mozilla Firefox'''. Make sure to save (do not delete) your personal settings when uninstalling.

With respect to version 7.0.1, are you saying that the installation failed, or it seemed to work but it's nowhere to be found?

Data from my old sync account (the one used on firefox 28) got replaced by data from my new sync account (the one used on firefox 34)

Disaster step by step:
1. Run old Firefox 28, using a separate profile named "Firefox 28", and log in to my old sync account (the one used on Firefox 28). In the old sync account i have saved tons of useful bookmarks and data. Got a device name "Admin's Firefox on HP-Laptop".
2. Check all my old bookmarks and they are fine. Stupid of me i didn't make a backup at that point.
3. Run new Firefox 34.0.5, using a separate profile named "default", and log in to my new sync account (the one used on Firefox 29 and on). In the new sync account i have saved a few bookmarks only. Got a device name "Admin's Firefox on HP-Laptop" again. Stupid of me i didn't pick another name. Didn't imagine what was about to happen.
4. What happened: All of my precious data which was stored on the old sync account got replaced by the few bookmarks of the new sync account. And by replaced i mean replaced ON THE SYNC SERVER. Now the old sync server has the very little data of the new sync account and i have lost all my precious data!!!
That little bug of Firefox cost me all of my data on the server.
People, please help me find a solution to recover my data that was stored on the old sync server and got replaced. I have no backup of the lost bookmarks nor backup of a profile that contains them.
P.S.: I used the default setting to sync, which was to merge data.
P.S.2: I don't maintain a personal old Firefox Sync server.
Who is the administrator of the old sync server maintained by Mozilla? Does he keep image backup? Maybe he could extract my data from an image backup. A pre-today date would be fine!

Unfortunately Sync does not backup. However in Windows 7 you can right click on the profile folder and select to restore to a previous version.

Why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel?

I posted my problem earlier today, but re-reading it maybe I didn't explain myself well enough.
My main question is: "why would my video clips be running too fast when played on the monitor panel ?". This is occuring after I have selected my media from the Tasks Panel and placed them in correct order in the Timeline/Sceneline. I knew something was wrong when I could see that the clips were not indicating their right length when viewed in the (expanded) timeline. They were compressed into just a few seconds, whereas the clips should have been at least 5 minutes. I ran the clips in the monitor and sure enough they ran too fast, with a lot of jerking movements.
The 3 video clips I am trying to make into a HD PAL video were taken with my Nokia N8 mobile video camera. These are in mp4 format. Can this present a problem ? Note that when I play these individual HD clips on my computer in (Windows Media Player) they run fine.
After I placed the clips in my Project Panel (or before in the Organize Workspace), I have perforned no change or manipulation of the clips. They are in their original state.
Just too confirm that the clips did seem to be compressed, I burnt a DVD, the resultant video ran in a matter of seconds.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that is what the problem was.
Although the video camera on my Nokia N8, mobile was capturing at 25fps,
for some reason once transfered over to PrE9 (via file transfer), the clip was interpreted as 500fps. Once in Interpret Footage I was able to change the fps to 25.

You paid for it because you bought it, there is nothing stopping you from now downloading it. If it is over 20 meg in size then you either need to switch to a wifi network on your iPad (there is a 20 meg limit per file over 3G), or try downloading it on your computer and then either sync it across to the iPad or drag-and-drop it from the Apps library in iTunes over and onto your iPad 'device'.
If you can connect the iPad to wifi then re-try downloading it (re-downloading) - f it currently shows as 'waiting' on the screen then try a reset and see if it resumes downloading after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Why does Firefox no longer display .php suffix web pages which are in my Mac?

I have a question about Firefox 14.0.1 displaying .php suffix web page files which are in a Mac running Mountain Lion OS 10.8. In eaarlier versions of Mac OS, for example 10.4.7, I was able to see properly displayed web page files with .html and .php suffixes when those web page files were in my computer. I refer to seeing the page as it should properly display, not seeing the source code. If a page had a .php suffix, the browser displayed the page properly although any php scripts embedded in that page were ignored.
Apple occasionallly updated its OS and browser makers occasionally updated browsers. One day, I noticed that Safari no longer displayed web page files in my Mac if those pages had a .php suffix. However, Firefox and other browsers continued to display web page files with .php suffixes although the embedded php scripts were ignored.
Now, I have Mountain Lion in iMac.
I can no longer see .php suffix web page files in my computer regarless of the browser I use. No browser displays those pages.
A .php suffix web page file which Firefox and other browsers display in 10.4.7 does not display in 10.8 if that web page file is in the computer.
In my computer, I have html and php suffix web page files I want to see using a browser. The files I want to see and the browser both are in my computer. Html files display perfectly with one exception: if php scripts are embedded in the html files, the scripts are ignored. A file the name of which ends with ".php" will not be displayed regardless of whether there is a php script in the file. Safari displays the source code only. Chrome does not display the file at all. Firefox and SeaMonkey, which displayed .php suffix web page files in earlier versions of the Mac OSm now respond to such pages by providing a dialog box which seems to assume that the file is about to be downloaded from the Internet. The dialog box asks me if I want to use the browser to open the file or if I want to save it to disk. The file is on the disk at the time, and the computer is disconnected from the Internet. I click that I want to use the browser to open the file. Then the dialong box reopens with the same question. This happens over and over. I never get to see a web page file in my computer the name of which ends with ".php". With Firefox 14.0.1, I can see .php suffix web pages which are on the Internet or in a 10.4.7 Mac but not in a 10.8 Mac. Did I miconfigure Firefox? Haroon mentions two solutions. I used the easier one, which is to start the Apache webserver already in Mountain Lion and to enable the php already in Mountain Lion. It worked. I see the file correctly displayed with html, css, and php. I see the page by using Firefox. I enter an address in the address bar. For example, the address might be "localhost/example/example.php". I cannot see the page by using Firefox's "Open File ..." menu option or by dragging the file's icon onto Firefox's icon. I tried using your solution also but was unable to find the specific preference to modify. I found the page of preferences which may be modified but I could not find the one I need. By the way, to enable loading the php module, one uncomments a line of code by deleting the initial "#" character, and one does that by pressing control key and "P" key while the cursor is over the "#" character.
Also by the way, when I use Firefox or Safari to look at the Apache web directory in which my files are, the files are listed case sensitively. For example, the files are listed: Ace, Zygote, bar. This is because lower case follows upper case. THis annoys me. I prefer case insensitive listing. When I llok directly athe directory without using a browser, the files are listed case insensitively. For example, they are listed: Ace, bar, Zygote. I guess taht Apache is doing this.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If you are wondering why you are not getting any responses, it is because you have vented a complaint without any details that make any sense or give anyone something to work on.
If you want help, I suggest actually detailing what has happened, with versions of software etc. Anything that would let us assist.
As a start I am guessing that you have not really got the hang of "How it all works". Firstly download the Pages09_UserGuide.pdf from under the Help menu. Read that and view the Video Tutorials in the same place. A good addition would be the iWork 09 Missing manual book and something to help you learn how to use your Mac.
