Adobe gave me a new download, but in the process, it said that the installation failed, and that I needed to contact the software manufacture for assistance. I have Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 installed on my PC. Both were installed from discs that I bought a few years ago. I recently purchased the upgrade (by download) for both applications to version 13. In accordance with the (scant) instructions received by email, I downloaded the four files required from the Adobe site. I subsequently ran the .exe files, which in turn created directories on my PC, including set-up.exe files for both applications. When I run the setup files, I get an error message stating that the installer failed to initialise. The error message advised me to download the Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem. That tool does not exist. I then sought assistance from the Abobe support site, initially using the hyperlink suggestions, which were of no use, then using the chat function. The operator kept trying to get me to do something with something called 'Creative Cloud'; which I am not familiar with, and do not use. He then instructed me to download and run a CS5 cleaner tool; however, none of the choices offered by that tool include my issue, or either Photoshop Elements or Premier Elements. I am reluctant to uninstall version 10 of the programs in case I end up losing the lot and therefore wasting even more money than the purchase price for this upgrade.
All I want to do is upgrade my two applications from version 10 to version 13. I have paid the requisite fee but it clearly does not work. I appear to have totally wasted my money. Can anyone please tell me how to get it to work? I do not want to have anything to do with the so-called ‘Creative Cloud’ as I have no idea what it is, and I do not want to lose what I already have (and have paid for previously).
I have tried for a few days to access the so-called 24/7 chat assistance but appeared to have been locked out as every time I try to access it, I get a message that the (24/7) chat is closed. Adobe has taken my money for a product that does not work, and also refuse to help me fix it.
I am very frustrated with a product I bought that does not work, and a 24/7 support service that clearly is not 24/7, and which refuses to assist me. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to get this to work? Rod.Hi,

How to install Photoshop Elements 11 on Macbook Pro 10.8.3 after the installer failed to initialize
I tried several times to install Photoshop Elements 11 on my new Macbook Pro (10.8.3) but the installer failed to initialize and the Support Advisor inspection could not identify any issue. I went today to the Apple Store to get help and the Genius guy couldn't resolve the problem either. He told me to contact Adobe Support and he gave me an Adobe token number.
Does anyone knows how can I resolve this problem? Any help would be truly appreciate it!!!

I tried to install the latest version of iTunes on my Windows PC, but the installation failed and I have the error message "Runtime Error R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly." When I then tried to run iTunes (assuming that, since the new install failed, my older version was still OK) I got the message "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114". I tried then uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it fresh, but encountered the same problems. Help!

Windows 7 crashed after Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium completed an update. The only Windows restore point that worked was pre-installation of CS6 software. Hey guys. Since 24 days Im trying to update my Cloud to the CC 2014 but when starting with PS, the installation fails by the fatal error exit number: 7. Whats to do?

Yesterday I tried something, by deinstalling the Cloud App and PS, but still the same error remained.
What I also don't understand is the term: Reinstalling the product. Is it meant, to deinstall every app, just the Cloud app or only the app where the error occupies?
By Reinstalling I also understand: Uninstall the app and the install it again. Is this correct?
I am surprised anyway. Once everything is fine and then within one day, nothing runs anymore. I read about, using a disc clean app as Clean My Mac 2 can destroy the structure of adobe products some how... but hmmm... this sounds very strange. -
The APP store has my purchase of OSX Lion marked as "Installed", but it isn't. The installation failed and I'm tring to redownload the OS but cannot because it is marked as installed.
Any suggestions?Are you sure that the installation failed, or are you perhaps confused about what happened. It is a 2 step process for Lion. What gets downloaded to your Mac is an installer. Do you find a Lion Installer in the Apps folder on your Mac? If so, double click to open it and follow the on screen instructions to install Lion on your Mac.
Always be sure to back up your Mac before attempting an OS upgrade in case something goes wrong and you loose your entire kit. -
"The installation failed" Error
I am trying to upgrade Acrobat 9 to Acrobat XI on a Mac OSX 10.6.8 system. I uninstalled Acrobat 9 using the uninstaller in the applications folder. I then tried to install Acrobat XI Pro and at the very end of the install I get the error:
"The installation failed."
"The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
I tried multiple times logged in under different user accounts and got the same error every time. I also tried installing Acrobat X Pro with the same results. Anyone know whats going on here or how to fix it?Try following steps:
Delete the following preferences folders:
a) ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/
b) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
c) ~/Library/Caches/Acrobat/
d) ~/Library/Preferences/Acrobat Distiller Prefs
e) ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Acrobat/
Here ~ represents your home directory.
Then Goto Applications Folder, If Acrobat folder or application is present there then delete it,
Empty your trash, Restart the machine and then reinstall the Acrobat. -
3rd Party Drivers - 'The installation failed'

I recently upgraded my OS from 10.6.8 to 10.8.2 on a Mid 2010 Macbook Pro. I had permission problems straight away but using disk Utility seems to have cleared most of these up, however I cannot install important third party software, in this case drivers from Matrox and new Drivers for the NVIDIA graphics card. I get an error message saying 'The installation failed'. Contact the software manufactutuer.
I think its a problem with Lion rather than the third party software. Here is what console says as I run the install for the Matrox drivers. Any help would be appreciated as these are key bits of software/hardware for my work.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I can see that issue with the freecom driver now you mention it. I've uninstalled the freecom software using Clean App and then tried to reinstall the Matrox drivers. I'm still getting an Installation failure and the console report indicates that there is still something 'Freecom' on my computer - see below. The latest report starts when I open the .dmg and doesn't look very encouraging from the off.
Do you have any thoughts?

How do i initialise the installation of elements 12. the installer fails
I purchased elements 12. I have downloaded the virtual disc. I open it and the 5 packages appear. I click the Install. the installer fails to initialise. ..my machine is up to date. Support advisor says that there are no issues. ..??
Thanks for that kglad but I have been a mac user for some years and have
installed numerous programs, though I must admit that I am not up to speed
with the tec terms. I am in no doubt that there is an issue with the
installation - I also get a popup that tells me that the installer failed
to launch. I wonder is there any issues installing elements and the new mac
10.9 maveric - it was released not so long ago and thus experience with it
has been limited.
I can add that I am running Lightroom and it works fine.

Every time I try to install my lightroom 2, from my disc, on my mac it gives me "The installation failed" message. So how can I go around this? Where can I go to get it installled?
It probably won't work at all. LR 2 contains PPC code which Apple long has stopped supporting in newer versions of OSX. Unless you really mean an old Mac ca. 2003 with OSX 10.4 or before, I see no way of ever getting this to work. Seriously consider buying LR 4 then.

How do I keep my installer from trying to update with Photoshop instead of installer? Quark can't update because the installer opens Photoshop which doesn't recognize the file and I'm not given the option to choose anything else.
1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled. -

Brilliant reply. Simple English. Simple to follow instructions. And it worked immediately, first time.
Why couldn't the Apple and Adobe corporations get their programming right first time? We spend billions of UK pounds and US dollars with them. They reply with incompetent programming such as this, and arrogance to their customers in issuing faulty systems without doing the most rudimentary checks.
Anyway, I certainly shan't be buying another Apple as this is the most unreliable, most incomprehensible, most illogical and downright thoughtless shoddy piece of computer kit which I have ever owned. And all of it is rubbish ~ emails disappear, photos can't be organised properly, spreadsheets don't work, Pages is laborious… the list goes on and on...
But thanks to you Dominic, I have been able to load Adoble Flashj… maybe eyou should get a job at Apple, and set them all on the right course to how to work simply and correctly with customers.
