The Installation is forbidden by System Policy....

Hi,
While Installing indesign cs3 i'm facing this error "The installation is forbidden by your system policy.please Contact administrator"
I really don't know which this error is occuring.
Please Help me out.
Thanks in advance
Hitesh

The error message seems to be indicating you don't have the rights/privileges to install the software on your system.
Is this part of some corporate network, or your own stand-alone workstation. If corporate, contact your IT department for help, if stand-alone, try logging in as Administrator.

    May this will help you...

If that doesn't work, you will need to enable installation of digitally-signed software updates:

Hold down the Windows key and press R to bring up the Run window.
On the Run window, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.
On the Local Group Policy window, navigate to Local Computer Policy, then Computer Configuration, then Administrative Templates, then Windows Components, and then Windows Installer.
    Double-click Prohibit non-administrators from applying vendor-signed updates.
Click Disabled, and then click OK.
    Windows XP
Click Start on the Windows taskbar, and then click Run.
On the Run window, type gpedit.msc, and then click OK.

  • Why is the installer stuck on "Checking System Profile-"?

I'm trying to install Flash Catalyst Beta on a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard).
The installer starts to work, but then it stops at the point where it checks the system profile (see attached screenshot). It doesn't seem to have crashed as the dock icon allows me to quit without force quitting the application.
I've tried it in my regular user account and the administrator account, but the behaviour is identical.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I appreciate all your efforts, but I¹ve just received my new copy of CS5, so
I¹ll be installing the final version.

Subject: Why is the installer stuck on "Checking System
    Profile…"?
    Thanks Gary.
I need to ask you a few questions and request you to perform some more steps
so that I can debug your problem.
    1. Have you modified any folder permissions, authorization setup using
Keychain Access utility (or any other tool)?
    2. Open a Terminal window, and run the command 'ls -l /tmp' and copy-paste
the output printed on your screen in your reply.
    3. Delete all files whose name start with 'asu' in your /tmp folder. Run the
command 'rm -rf /tmp/asu*'. Restart your machine.
    4. Launch the Flash Catalyst setup and check if installation proceeds
successfully. If it doesn't, proceed to the step below.
    5. Open the folder containing the Flash Catalyst setup. Browse to the
'packages' folder and rename the file 'install.sig' to 'update.sig'. Double
click and launch the Flash Catalyst setup. This will not install the
application but install the Adobe Application Manager. Let me know if you
see a small dialog with a progress bar. Rename back update.sig to
install.sig. Update us your observations. Continue to next step.
    6. Launch 'Disk Utility' app (from /Applications/Utilities). Select your OS
partition in the left panel and click on 'First Aid' tab on the top. Click
on the 'Repair Disk Permissions' button at the bottom.
    7. Again, launch the Flash Catalyst setup and check if installation proceeds
successfully. If it doesn't, proceed to the step below.
    8. Open a Terminal window and navigate to the directory containing the Flash
Catalyst setup. Run the command 'sudo Install.app/Contents/MacOS/Install'
and enter the password. Let me know if the installer launches and on
following the screen instructions do you still see the error screen or does
    the installation proceed successfully.

  • Does Firefox change the installation date in control panel when they upgrade?

I installed Mozilla Firefox in early September. 6 weeks later I noticed the installation date for Firefox in control panel had changed from September to October (appeared as if it had been uninstalled and reinstalled). I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, and I noted the date of installation, October 18. I kept an eye on it. November 5, I checked the control panel, I noted the installation date had changed again, to November 1. Now my dates may be off a day, but is it normal for Firefox to change the installation date when upgrading, and even more disturbing, is it possible to do it without the user knowing it's being done? And remotely?

Each time you update any program, you install it. The installation date in Control Panel will therefore update accordingly. This happens when the installer runs on your system: there's no remote interference involved.
By default, Firefox updates automatically. The setting is found under Options - Advanced - Update. If you click the Show Update History button there, you'll no doubt find Firefox was updated on November 1st.

  • Will Leopard Allow The Installation of iLife 06 & Other Issues?

    Hello
I have several Power Macs, and several PC's. I may be old fashioned, but I believe, if it works, don't fix it. I've been very happy with Tiger. And I've always read that some older software programs will not install in Leopard. Call this 'Free-Enterprise' if you'd like. I call it an expensive major pain in the A**
It's pretty certain by now that iMovie 08 is a far cry than what it was. And with Leopard, there are many other issues that prevent Tiger users from sharing certain files. Quick Time files for one, (unless it's a codec issue).
I use Final Cut 2 Studio, (currently installed in Tiger 10.4.11). I suppose I'll have incompatibility sharing issues with my friend who uses Final Cut 2 Studio within a Leopard environment.
But anyway, (sorry for getting on a soap box), I suppose iLife 06 will not install in Leopard is that correct?
    Thanx
    Mike

But anyway, (sorry for getting on a soap box), I suppose iLife 06 will not install in Leopard is that correct?
No, that's not correct. iLife '06 will not only install under Leopard (I have no idea why you would think it would not) but it also works in Leopard.
Leopard has nothing to do with whether software installers will work unless the developer has programmed the installer to check on system versions in order to alert the user that the software is incompatible. It's true that some applications are not compatible with Leopard. But by now developers have released compatible versions or upgrades. There are a few stragglers that can't seem to get their act together. Primarily these are in the MIDI business.
I don't know why you think Leopard prevents sharing files.
In any event if you require certain software and/or hardware for your work, then do not upgrade OS X until every component you use is known to be fully compatible with the new version. This is true of any OS X version. Upgrading your operating system should only be done if the new version provides features and benefits that are essential to your work. And then only if the software and hardware you require will be fully compatible with the new version.
There's nothing wrong with being "old-fashioned." But it's important not to be behind the curve. If you can't do what your competitors can, then you're no longer "old-fashioned", you're "old news."

While installing Acrobat XI Pro, the installation automatically rolls back and I get the message "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.07) could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again." How to resolve it.
How do I modify the system.

    Hi Rgardezi,
The only reason why Acrobat installation fails and throw this error message is when there are some services running in the background causing the installer not to complete the installation. My take is try the following steps and suggest if you were able to install the products or not :
    1) Navigate to control panel and confirm that there is no line Item that talks about Acrobat. If you see Acrobat XI listed there, please remove them.
    2) Perform a selective Start up using the steps mentioned in this link.
Please suggest if the above mentioned steps were able to resolve the query for you or not.
    Cheers,
