when i click download it has the run/save option. i click run, then nothing.

Thanks for the question. Start with completely uninstalling iTunes and all of it's components in the order specified in the article below. Once this is done, download and install iTunes.

Checked task mgr and firefox was not running. shut down and tried again. Unchecked the "read only" at user profile, again shut down to try again. I was not able to do any other fixes (start in safe mode, disable extensions) as I got no response. Internet explorer is able to start and access the web.

firefox and all other browsers were working fine... then all of a sudden... all of them stopped ... none of them open when i click on them. google does not load any pages... ie will not open, nor firefox.. Please help... i have tried all the solutions given and nothing helps... sometimes firefox opens, like now and sometimes not..

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Fire Fox WILL NOT LOAD Gmail, even after folling ALL the steps in HELP, but it loaded it yesterday and NOTHING has been changed!

I was using Fire Fox and I got the message "Fire Fox is not Responding". I tried waiting for it but after 20 minutes I closed it down. When I opened it up again and tried to use my Gmail bookmark but all I get is a message telling me that "The page isn't redirecting properly! Adoby Acrobat 7.0 opens some times when I close firefox or fire fox will not shut down.

I have recently updated to firefox 4.0.1 and things are running slower and I have noticed that fire fox does not want to shutdown when I close it. Also every so often when I close fire fox my adobe acrobat professional will open randomly.

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.

You have multiple old Java Console extensions that Java did not clean-up during updates. You need Java Console only if you do Java programming/development or debug Java applets on web pages. You can see them in Add-ons > Extensions, '''''but you can not remove them from there'''''. Removing them will not affect the functioning of Java on websites. The updater wasn't able to update all the files and some were left as older versions.
You need to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
