The Installer looks broken

The flash installer for Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.149 doen't look correct. Given the rash of fake Flash installers, it's rather disconceting to get something like this from the http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/. Here's a screen shot of the installer on a Mac:
I hope this was safe to install, since I have installed it, Safari was refusing to open flash saying my version was out of date.

I have an application that has been upgraded to LabVIEW 8. I have previously been able to build the exe and installer but recently the installer part of the build has been failing with the following error message:
Unable to locate the installer source for "Setup" distribution.
Locate the distribution and try again
The dialog includes a file path prompt that is pointing at the Installer\Volume directory where Installer is the target directory for the build. The installer build is configured to span CD-sized volumes (650MB)
There are no sources or support files named anything like Setup that I can see.
The installer includes DaqMX and the LabVIEW 8 runtime engine as additional installers
The build works ok If I turn off the DaqMX driver installer

I've upgraded DAQmx to 8.0.1 and the installer build now works....sometimes.
And sometimes it gives me a different error:

So it's sort of working but not entirely reliable. I think I've seen the path to the DAQmx installer in the Additional Installers tab replaced with the path into the installer build directory I was being prompted with earlier but I haven't been able to replicate this.

IAS sp3 evaluation copy doesnt install although the installation looks ok?

When I install IAS sp3 evaluation copy on my machine after installing the web server, The installation of the iAS sp3 goes thru without showing any errors but not a single file or folder is created on the Win2k Sp2 machine. The loopback adpter has been added bcoz we have DHCP here. Can you tell me whats wrong?. The IAS server doesnt even really install on my machine.
The Web Server is running just fine.

Yes, this is a well known issue which has been discussed several times in this forum. This problem is mainly because of the corruption in the file while downloading. If you are very sure on the host & DNS setting, static ip address, then this is the only issue. The only best solution is to try the download again. Please let me know if this helps for me to help you further on this.

Firefox installer is looking for admin privilages to install, upon granting them, the installer immediately ends its process.

After downloading the Firefox 7.0.1 installer, running the .exe, it extracts the installer, then provides a small windows login box, looking for Admin permission. Upon logging in to provide permission, the process abruptly ends.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

However we did not find any parameter or the command line which will allow us to enter the license key during installation. Has any one succeed in finding the command line where we can pass the license key during installation of this application?

Bugs in the installer

I have run into a problem reinstalling SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 on a Windows XP laptop. In the confirmation page of the installer I can see that all SOA apps and libraries have target as AdminServer. I can modify it manually but I am not sure how it happened and what is the exact list of apps/libraries that needs to be deployed to the AdminServer vs soa_server1.
After running the installer I've noticed that the BPM Workspace (and all other soa apps/libraries) was deployed on the AdminServer and not on the managed server soa_server1. Soa_server1 was created and I was able to start it but it does not contain SOA libraries. I have uninstalled all FMW components, and also unistalled WebCenter and UCM. I am now trying to do a fresh/default install on the same machine. When running the config domain for WebLogic, I chose to manually configure Managed Servers, Clusters, and Machines. The default settings were empty. So, I had to manually enter settings for LocalMachine, localhost, and soa_server1. I also moved soa_server1 under the LocalMachine. Still, all soa-infra components are deployed to the AdminServer as indicated in the installer confirmation page.
Has anyone experience this problem? What can I do to fix it on this Windows XP laptop? Simple uninstall/reinstall of SOA Suite 11g did not help. In the confirmation page of the installer I can see that all SOA apps and libraries have target as AdminServer. Do I need to clear Windows registry entries so that installer uses normal deplyment targets? I'd appreciate your advice please. It could be that my laptop was "broken" by the WebCenter or UCM because I did not have this problem prior to installing UCM.

I think that on Windows XP single server deployment is not recommened, I saw it somewhere in the documentation. Linux is fine since it allows for larger than 2G process memory space. Let me know if you had a different experience.
I managed to manually configure deployment targets by running the weblogic installer on a different machine and looking at target setting for each component there. It was a tedious process and I wonder if there is any way to "reset" the installer. Also, is it documented somewhere which app/library should be deployed to which server?

Why do fonts and vector images look broken in Acrobat Pro (on retina display)

I often get scared of doing something horribly wrong every time I export to PDF from Indesign CC. I know I didn't mess up but my scariness is the effect of the terrible graphic support in Acrobat when viewing the pdf's. Fonts and Vector images look broken and the look of fonts only gets better after zooming in at an incredible 6400% ! Are my preference settings in Acrobat wrong or is it because Acrobat doesn't support Retina yet?

Applications in 10.4.11 installer package broken/won't download

Some of my applications that came with OS X 10.4.11 have become damaged. I have tried two ways of replacing them from the 10.4.11 Combo installer package downloaded from Apple.
1. I removed the faulty ones from my Applications folder and then ran the installer. None of the applications were downloaded into my Applications folder.
2. I used Pacifist to look into the installer package. In the Applications folder within the package, all (or most) of the applications had the generic icon that shows that an application is broken or incomplete, and when I extracted two of them by means of Pacifist, they retained that icon and did not work.
Can anyone tell me why this is? And, more importantly, how I can obtain working versions of iCal and Address Book? I should be most grateful for suggestions. If anyone has working versions of these and could send them to me by e-mail, I should be very grateful, too.

Hmmm, are your 10.4 Install Discs more than one?
Just tried my Mac Mini, 10.4.2 Install Discs which is a 4 or 5 set, and indeed AB was a generic icon & small, I believe more resides on other Discs in the set, likely #2.

If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
