The Invisible Button

Well, if you can somehow see my previous post, you will understand my problem. If you can not, i will summerize here in a chronological series of events.
1. My computer began shutting down unexpectadly or restarting. No telling when it would happen, sometimes it would take an hour for it to turn back on, other times it wouldn't turn off for days.
2. Took it to a mac store, they sent it to texas, got it back, they said it had NO HARDWARE PROBLEMS. We backed up my computer, and it wiped everything out, started fresh.
3. Came to Spain, planning on being abroad the entire year. After a few months, problems came back.
4. Now i have noticed, that i can make my computer turn off if i touch the bottom of my laptop. It Clicks. It is kind of messed up. I don't know what caused this since they said there were no hardware problems, but it seems as though something has changed. I take very good care of my laptop. I am still on apple care. I am in europe so i can't talk to a Apple Care Tech Service person in the US. I don't speak italian...
I suppose i'm asking if there is an international number for tech support, or what is going on with my computer. Is there a way that i could fix this myself.

Also, i recently got my IPHONE 5 from the states. I haven't used it since this summer... I can't plug it in though, no matter what, when i plug the chord in, nothing happens on the screen. What's up with that? What's up with Apple?

Yes, quite messed up. You need to demonstrate that to an Apple Store employee or other authorized service technician.

How can I add invisible buttons to a scrollable window?

I've made a scrollable window that basically scrolls some
text and images. I'd like the images to link to another site but
I'm having trouble getting the invisible buttons to scroll with the
images. The text and images laid out in Flash. That is, I'm not
linking to an HTML file.
Here's the code I'm using for the scrollable window, which I
got from a tutorial online. The buttons (at the bottom of the
script) are located in a separate layer masked by the "maskedView".

JavaScript to make button invisible button visible again

I have been trying to create a form in LiveCycle Designer (part of Acrobat Pro ) that keeps a button (call it #1)invisible until another button (call it #2) is clicked, at which click event the invisible button(#1) becomes visible. I've been using JavaScript and either setting the #1's presence as "invisible" in the object editor or scripting it as a formready event presence = "invisible". I've scripted in the click event for #2: #1.presence = "visible". This doesn't work to get #1 to show on #2's click. I've tried a few more similar script with no success.
I'm relatively new to Designer, though have some experience with JS.
Is there another way to script to initially make an object "invisible" and get it to become visible by a runtime event?
I would appreciate any help.

Template needs to be saved as Dynamic in order to see those dynamic features working. You have that saved as Dynamic and still have no luck try the following....
#1.presence = "visible";
xfa.layout.relayout();
Note: 1. A button name can not start with "#" hope you are using some meaningful names.

Can I remove the Submit button?

When I first created quizzes, I accepted the defaults, and found you have to click Submit each time you answer a question. You actually need a submit button if you go that route.
I found the "Submit All" option in Quiz Preferences, and selected it. When I tested the quiz, I answered questions and clicked Next to proceed to the next screen. Submit All does exactly what I need it to do - at the end of the quiz it asks me if I want to submit all, and I click yes. Then my score displays. At no time do I need a Submit button in any of the quiz slides.
However, every slide in the quiz now has a "Submit All" button - this option changes the button from "Submit" to "Submit All." When you click it, you get an error telling you the test is incomplete.
I don't need it and it's confusing, so I'd like to remove it. But I can't delete it from the quiz slide or the Master Slide - I can only move it. There is no right click option to get rid of it. The only thing I have found I can do is gray it out by changing its attributes.
Is there some way I can get rid of it?

I don't think you can remove it completely, but a couple of options you could look at are:
- change it to a transparent button, set the opacity to 0% and delete the text. You can then move the invisible button somewhere were users are unlikely to click it.
- Or just drag the button off the slide so it doesn't appear when the project runs.

How to Make the Default Button Marker Not Show Upon Launching...

I am trying to only have the markers show up on the menu item when you roll over it. However, when the menu is first launched, the marker is automatically showing up on the first button.
I have selected "None" as the default menu button in the menu config. I am also using Photoshop to make the menu and creating the (+) buttons there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Create an invisible button (turn off the visibility of all layers) and
set it to use Highlight Group 2 (edit the Menu Color Set). Set the
opacity of all the highlight states to 0%. Make the invisible button
the default button.

Can I resize the submit button?

To make my form more mobile friendly I made the font sizes larger, but the submit button is then really small! Can I make the button larger?

ok, that gets me through making the invisible button, which I
have been able to do successfully, but yours are good clear
directions.
But THEN what do I do to create a hyperlink to the url? Could
you tell me step by step? I have tried 6 or 7 variations found in
books or on the web, none work
in CS3 with ActionScript 3.0
I can't find the getURL command...have tried manually typing
following various directions.
and do I apply the getURLto the button hit stage or the
keyframe on the timeline
actually, I tried both and neither worked when I tested the
movie.

Something went wrong with the invisible shield application

After putting on the invisible shield, I was really happy because it turned out great. I waited about two to three hours then started using it.
To my horror, I think my nano might have shorted out because when I press play the song changes. sometimes the play/pause button doesnt even do anything when i press on it...when i touch the volume control, it increases and decreases erratically regardless of what im trying to do...sometimes it even seems like my nano has a mind of its own because when i simply move the nano, without touching the controls, the song changes or the volume changes.
this erratic behavior occurs sporadically. sometimes my nano works fine. then right when i think all is well, my nano becomes possessed. is it possible that my nano has shorted out? maybe i should let it dry?

The process of applying the shield requires that I wet the film with soap and water. What do you suggest I do? My mistake was that I did not put on the hold button when I was applying the wet film and thus my ipod turned on while I was putting on the shield. i realize now that my nano should not have turned on for 24 hours. Should I just wait and see if the funky behavior goes away? or should i visit the nearest apple store?

Problem with combo boxes and the reset button in certain situations

Hi Everyone,
i have a problem to make the reset-button function properly in an what-if analysis dashboard.
The dashboard uses two combo boxes that are not visible at the same time. In my application the second combo box only appears when a dedicated menu (label based menu button) has been activated.
So i have combo box 1 when menu A is active an dand combo box 2 when menu 2 is active.
After starting the dashboard initial values are fine. If you then directly change to menu 2 (seeing combo box 2 with
the correct default value) and press the reset button, the dashboard returns to the initial view, showing
the menu 1 with the correct default value. If you now switch back to menu 2, you will see, that the combo box 2
is empty (i.e. nothing selected).
I also tracked the destination cells for the combo box value results as well as the source cells for the "selected item" and the
destination cells for the "Insert Selected Item". All this values seem to be correct. Therefore i assume that
this is an issue of event handling. Maybe the combo box 2 does not refresh its selected value because it is already
invisible when the values are restored.
This case can easily be simulated by placing two combo boxes and a push button (that changes the visibility of
the combo boxes) and the reset button on the canvas.
Maybe someone can help. I am able to provide a test xlf, if neccessary.

thank you for your support. At the moment i have the following setting:
label based menu
- General: Insertion Type "value" from a list of ID's for the menu-items to a dedicated cell (current menu ID, say tab1!$A$1)
- Behavior: Selected item (position) fixted to item 1
hidden combo box
- General: Insertion Type "position" to a dedicated cell with the current choice (say tab1!$B$1)
- Behavior: Selected item (position) to the same cell (tab1!$B$1)
Can you give me a hint on how to connect the two components according to your solution, so that the label based menu sets the default for the hidden combox box only in case, that the reset button is pressed?

Have you tried the following?
I'm assuming there is nothing written on the second page.
Scroll down to the second page and write something.
Highlight everything on that page Usually this will show in blue including the invisibles.
Make sure you attempt to highlight everything by selecting the whole page.
Press Backspace/delete until all of that page is clear.
Continue until your cursor lands on your first page.
By then the offending second blank page should have gone.
I tried this procedure a few minutes ago and it worked. (Pages 5.5.2)

How can I attach an additional action to the "reset" button in the drag and drop interaction?

I would like to know how to attach an additional behavior to the "reset" button in my drag and drop exercise.
Here is the background:
In my drag and drop exercise, when the user drops the source on a target of his choice, certain elements appear and certain elements disappear
This means that depending on where he dropped the sources, certain elements will be visible and certain elements invisible when he is finished the activity
Because the sources are not re-draggable once he drops them, he will have the option to reset the exercise and start again from the beginning using the reset button
My challenge:
I would like exercise to return to its original state when the user selects the rest button . this means:
the dragged objects return to their orginal starting location (this is what naturally occurs when you hit the reset button)
any objects that had disappeared during the course of the activity reappear
objects that were not visible in the beginning , but had appeared during the course of the activity, again become invisible
So how can I add this action to the reset button?

Allowing the user to redrag the souce after it has been dropped would work for my particular problem if I could bind an action to the event redragging, namely making the elements reappear that had disappeared and the elements disappear that had appeared when the user dropped it the first time.

Partial trigger not woring on the Submit button of the application panel.

I am facing an issue that I am not sure if it is a framework bug. I used Submit button on the app panel and would like to hide it in some cases. I used a partial trigger for this button. But it doesn't respond to the trigger at all!. I also tried the same trigger on other buttons on the app panel, such as Done, Save, etc.. they all work as expected. Does any one know if this is as designed or a frame work bug?

Thanks for the reply. Good news, I just found out this morning after I refreshed my view that the Submit button refresh issue is resolved. Looks like ADF team was working on that bug.
I have another question on the app panel buttons.
My use case for this button is to use this Submit button as a Save and Close drop down, with Save As under it. The object has versions with a version navigation pull down list. When navigate to a Pending version, the buttons are like:
[Save] [Save and Close |\/] [Cancel]
|Save As |
when navigate to a submitted/released version the buttons should be like:
[Save As] [Done]
Could you advise how I can achieve this? Currently I make [Save] [Save and Close |\/] [Cancel] invisible and [Done] to be visible for non-pending versions. I also added an additional |Save As | from actionButtonBar facet to be visible in this case, because the original |Save As | is under [Save and Close |\/] , which is not visible in this case. Not sure if it is the right approach. Now the |Save As | is on the left side of the vertical separator, instead of on the right side, since all the buttons under actionButtonBar facet are on the left side of the vertical separator. So you see the buttons like this:

Vocal backing track stop playing when the cycle button is pressed.

I am running the vocal backing track in Mainstage2. I have various markers throughout the backing track, however, when I press the cycle button, the backing track stop playing and reverts to the start of the track. Anyone know why this is happening?

Will try to explain how I understand the way a Question slide works:
on the timeline you see a pausing point, this will be used twice
when the user clicks on the Submit button, playhead is not released but the Success/Failure captions pop up, but you cannot control anything else such like stopping the audio
when the user presses Y or clicks on the slide, the playhead is released, the Success/Failure actions are executed and (eventually - unless you changed navigation by those actions) the user is navigated to the next slide
First thing you can change is the pausing point of the question slide, but once an audio clip started playing, this will continue and thus not solve your problem.
It is only in that second step that you can do more customising by changing the Success/Failure actions, perhaps to an advanced action.
Are you using this default behavior? And the audio is attached to what: to the slide or to the text captions for the questions and to the Success/Failure captions for the answers?
I think the solution will be to skip the first step, by deleting the Success/Failure captions. When clicking on the Submit button in that situation, the Success/Failure actions will be executed immediately (and the playhead will be released). Attach the audio for the questions to an invisible object (rectangle without fill or stroke), that you hide with the advanced actions to be triggered by Success/Failure and show custom Text Captions for Success/Failure with audio attached to them. Because the playhead is now released, you will either have to time correctly so that the user will have to listen to the audio totally or to insert a static button widget that pauses the slide. But here I'm a bit stuck because I do not know which version of CP you are using, please?

Hello Everyone,
Let me provide a little background information to the need that I am trying to close on as I am attempting to get this incorporated into my website. It came with the recommendation to try the CS5 today to see if this will meet the requirement at the moment.
Here is what I am trying to do:
There is a desire to take custom SWF files (I think there is something called Swish files too?) from various sponsors for advertisement purposes and place them on my website. The implementation was straight-forward to make them work through the webserver.
I tried a custom example of making a button that upon mouse click would open up a new webpage in CS5 which did work for me.
My problem is since the SWF files are finalized, there is no way to put URL information into those files. After doing a lot of searching around today, it appears that the best way to redirect a user upon click of a video is to:
1) Open up a new Flash
2) Import the SWF video file into the project
3) Create a Invisible Button over top the SWF video so when the user clicks, they are redirected to a specific URL.
But for some reason, when I tried to overlay it with a sample SWF file I imported, there was all this flickering going on to where both were made transparent to one another on the screen - not to mention the video wasn't even visible at all. My hope was that the SWF video could be seen clearly while the button remained invisbile to handle the click on the video.
Is there someone on the forum that is able to guide me fairly quickly with a fast-path procedure so that I can try this? If this will work for me, then I want to get the full product and begin doing a deep dive into what seems to be a very awsome tool.

Thank you for your tremendous insight and solutioning into what I need. Forgive me for being ignorant as I am so new to this tool and ActionScrpt. If I open up a AS3 project with a blank stage, what must I click or do to insert the code into the appropriate section to see the demonstration of your solution? Do I need to create a class file to use this or is there existing section of code that I can use to cut and paste this into ? Once I know how to implement this in the tool, then I should be good to go.
In my attempt to find some reference information, would I do the following?:
1) Open new AS3 Project
2) With a blank stage opened.
3) Create a new layer called "Action"
4) Click on Frame 1 of the "Action" Layer
5) Hit F9
6) Copy and Insert Code
7) Goto last Fame of the "Action" Layer
8) Hit F5
Would these be the correct steps to implement the code above?
